Implementation of a Standardized Handoff System for a General Surgery Residency Program
Introduction:
The I-PASS Handoff Bundle is an evidence based standardized set of educational materials designed to decrease handoff failures in patient care.
Two of every three sentinel events , the most serious events reported to the Joint Commission, are due to failures of communication, including miscommunication during patient care handoffs.
Implementation of the I-PASS method results in decreased medical errors and preventable adverse events
There are few studies that evaluate this validated method in the context of a General Surgery resident program
We aim to implement the I-PASS system into the transition of care process for General Surgery residents at our institution, and to analyze of the quality of the handoff process before and after the implementation.https://jdc.jefferson.edu/patientsafetyposters/1047/thumbnail.jp
A unifying framework for seed sensitivity and its application to subset seeds
We propose a general approach to compute the seed sensitivity, that can be
applied to different definitions of seeds. It treats separately three
components of the seed sensitivity problem -- a set of target alignments, an
associated probability distribution, and a seed model -- that are specified by
distinct finite automata. The approach is then applied to a new concept of
subset seeds for which we propose an efficient automaton construction.
Experimental results confirm that sensitive subset seeds can be efficiently
designed using our approach, and can then be used in similarity search
producing better results than ordinary spaced seeds
The experience in the use of thermopuncture in complex treatment of pyelonephritis, developed during vesicoureteral reflux and reflux-neuropathy in children with undifferentiated form of connective tissue dysplasia
This article is connected with the definition of expediency and efficiency of use of thermopuncture (TP) in complex treatment of pyelonephritis, developed during vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) and reflux-neuropathy (RN) in children with undifferentiated form of connective tissue dysplasia moderate severity. In the result of conducted researches it was found that patients with acute form of diagnosed pyelonephritis during vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) of 3-4 grade or with reflux-neuropathy, earned during the treatment additional thermopuncture sessions, have more positive dynamics of treatment in comparison with control group, where treatment was conducted only in accordance with the protocol βDiagnosis and treatment of pyelonephritis in childrenβ (Korovina N.A.,2007) with the obligatory use of antibiotics.ΠΠ°Π½Π½Π°Ρ ΡΠ°Π±ΠΎΡΠ° ΡΠ²ΡΠ·Π°Π½Π° Ρ ΠΎΠΏΡΠ΅Π΄Π΅Π»Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ΠΌ ΡΠ΅Π»Π΅ΡΠΎΠΎΠ±ΡΠ°Π·Π½ΠΎΡΡΠΈ ΠΈ ΡΡΡΠ΅ΠΊΡΠΈΠ²Π½ΠΎΡΡΠΈ ΠΈΡΠΏΠΎΠ»ΡΠ·ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΡ ΡΠ΅ΡΠΌΠΎΠΏΡΠ½ΠΊΡΡΡΡ (Π’Π) Π² ΠΊΠΎΠΌΠΏΠ»Π΅ΠΊΡΠ½ΠΎΠΌ Π»Π΅ΡΠ΅Π½ΠΈΠΈ ΠΏΠΈΠ΅Π»ΠΎΠ½Π΅ΡΡΠΈΡΠΎΠ², ΡΠ°Π·Π²ΠΈΠ²ΡΠΈΡ

Features of the development of children with dysplasia of the urinary System
The study examined the developmental status of children with dysplasia of the urinary system aged 6 to 10 years with a duration of the disease from 1 month to 5 years. Based on the data obtained from anthropometric and functional studies, physical development evaluation, age determination, assessment of biological age, assessment of physical preparedness, conclusions were drawn that the physical state is characterized by a reliable decrease in indicators and the disharmonization of physical development, the development of the phenomenon of deceleration, systems and overall physical performance in comparison with peers who do not have this pathology ogii. Lower values of the signs had children with impaired renal hemodynamics.Π ΠΈΡΡΠ»Π΅Π΄ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΠΈ ΠΈΠ·ΡΡΠ°Π»ΠΎΡΡ ΡΠΎΡΡΠΎΡΠ½ΠΈΠ΅ ΡΠ°Π·Π²ΠΈΡΠΈΡ Π΄Π΅ΡΠ΅ΠΉ Ρ Π΄ΠΈΡΠΏΠ»Π°Π·ΠΈΠ΅ΠΉ ΠΌΠΎΡΠ΅Π²ΠΎΠΉ ΡΠΈΡΡΠ΅ΠΌΡ Π² Π²ΠΎΠ·ΡΠ°ΡΡΠ΅ ΠΎΡ 6 Π΄ΠΎ 10 Π»Π΅Ρ Ρ Π΄Π»ΠΈΡΠ΅Π»ΡΠ½ΠΎΡΡΡΡ Π·Π°Π±ΠΎΠ»Π΅Π²Π°Π½ΠΈΡ ΠΎΡ 1 ΠΌΠ΅ΡΡΡΠ° Π΄ΠΎ 5 Π»Π΅Ρ.
