The irreducible modules for the derivations of the rational quantum torus

Let \bbcq be the quantum torus associated with the d×dd \times d matrix q=(qij)q = (q_{ij}), qii=1q_{ii} = 1, qij1=qjiq_{ij}^{-1} = q_{ji}, qijq_{ij} are roots of unity, for all 1i,jd.1 \leq i, j \leq d. Let \Der(\bbcq) be the Lie algebra of all the derivations of \bbcq. In this paper we define the Lie algebra \Der(\bbcq) \ltimes \bbcq and classify its modules which are irreducible and have finite dimensional weight spaces. These modules under certain conditions turn out to be of the form V \otimes \bbcq, where VV is a finite dimensional irreducible gldgl_d-module.Comment: Revised versio

On sets of irreducible polynomials closed by composition

Let S\mathcal S be a set of monic degree 22 polynomials over a finite field and let CC be the compositional semigroup generated by S\mathcal S. In this paper we establish a necessary and sufficient condition for CC to be consisting entirely of irreducible polynomials. The condition we deduce depends on the finite data encoded in a certain graph uniquely determined by the generating set S\mathcal S. Using this machinery we are able both to show examples of semigroups of irreducible polynomials generated by two degree 22 polynomials and to give some non-existence results for some of these sets in infinitely many prime fields satisfying certain arithmetic conditions

The present study was carried out to evaluate the Lipid peroxidation activity and related hypolipidaemic activity of an (EFTO) ethanol fraction of extract of aerial part of Thuja occidentalis Linn. (Cupressaceae). Lipid peroxidation activity was carried out to evaluate the antioxidant potential, and hypolipidaemic activity on cholesterol fed rats. The antioxidant activity of ethanol fraction was increased in a concentration dependent manner. About 100, 150, 200, 250 & 300 μg EFTO (ethanol fraction of extract of aerial part of Thuja occidentalis) inhibited the FeSO4 induced lipid peroxidation in a dose dependent manner and showed IC50 value 195.60μg/ml. in hypolipidaemic activity EFTO at the dose of 200 mg and 400mg/kg body weight significantly reduced serum cholesterol (77 and 92%), LDL (53 and 84%), triglycerides (27 and 46%). The increase in HDL to total cholesterol ratio and reduction in atherogenic index in EFTO treated groups strongly supports anti-atherosclerotic property of Thuja occidentalis. The results obtained in this study indicate that EFTO can be a potential source of natural antioxidant and activities related to this

Two types of materials, L-arginine phosphate (LAP) and doped triglycine sulfate (TGS), are examined for their growth characteristics and relevant properties for second harmonic generation and IR detector applications, respectively

    Structure of aluminum atomic chains

    Get PDF
First-principles density functional calculations reveal that aluminum can form planar chains in zigzag and ladder structures. The most stable one has equilateral triangular geometry with four nearest neighbors; the other stable zigzag structure has wide bond angle and allows for two nearest neighbors. An intermediary structure has the ladder geometry and is formed by two strands. All these planar geometries are, however, more favored energetically than the linear chain. We found that by going from bulk to a chain the character of bonding changes and acquires directionality. The conductance of zigzag and linear chains is 4e^2/h under ideal ballistic conditions.Comment: modified detailed version, one new structure added, 4 figures, modified figure1, 1 tabl
