Motivators of adopting social computing in global software development: Initial results
context: Real-time collaboration is critical for developing high quality software systems at low cost in a geographically distributed Global Software Development (GSD) environment. It is anticipated that emerging Social Computing tools can play an important role in facilitating realtime effective collaboration among teams working in the GSD. Objective: The objective of this research paper is to identify motivators for adopting social computing in GSD organizations. Method: We adopted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by applying customized search strings derived from our research questions. Results: We have identified factors such as real-time communication and coordination, information sharing, knowledge acquisition and expert feedback as key motivators for adoption of social computing in GSD. Conclusion: Based on the SLR results, we suggest that GSD organizations should embrace social computing as a tool for real-time collaboration between distributed GSD teams. The results of this initial study also suggest the need for developing the social computing strategies and policies to guide the effective social computing adoption by GSD teams
Pemilihan Supplier Dan Penjadwalan Distribusi CNG Dengan Pemodelan Matematis
Measurement of horizontal air showers with the Auger Engineering Radio Array
The Auger Engineering Radio Array (AERA), at the Pierre Auger Observatory in
Argentina, measures the radio emission of extensive air showers in the 30-80
MHz frequency range. AERA consists of more than 150 antenna stations
distributed over 17 km. Together with the Auger surface detector, the
fluorescence detector and the under-ground muon detector (AMIGA), AERA is able
to measure cosmic rays with energies above 10 eV in a hybrid detection
mode. AERA is optimized for the detection of air showers up to 60
zenith angle, however, using the reconstruction of horizontal air showers with
the Auger surface array, very inclined showers can also be measured. In this
contribution an analysis of the AERA data in the zenith angle range from
62 to 80 will be presented. CoREAS simulations predict
radio emission footprints of several km for horizontal air showers, which
are now confirmed by AERA measurements. This can lead to radio-based
composition measurements and energy determination of horizontal showers in the
future and the radio detection of neutrino induced showers is possible.Comment: To be published in the Proceedings of the ARENA2016 conference,

Resource dedication problem in a multi-project environment
There can be different approaches to the management of resources within
the context of multi-project scheduling problems. In general, approaches to multiproject scheduling problems consider the resources as a pool shared by all projects. On the other hand, when projects are distributed geographically or sharing resources between projects is not preferred, then this resource sharing policy may not be feasible. In such cases, the resources must be dedicated to individual projects throughout the project durations. This multi-project problem environment is defined here as the resource dedication problem (RDP). RDP is defined as the optimal dedication of resource capacities to different projects within the overall limits of the resources and with the objective of minimizing a predetermined objective function. The projects involved are multi-mode resource constrained project scheduling problems with finish to start zero time lag and non-preemptive activities and limited renewable and nonrenewable resources. Here, the characterization of RDP, its mathematical formulation and two different solution methodologies are presented. The first solution approach is a genetic algorithm employing a new improvement move called combinatorial auction for RDP, which is based on preferences of projects for resources. Two different methods for calculating the projects’ preferences based on linear and Lagrangian relaxation are proposed. The second solution approach is a Lagrangian relaxation based heuristic employing subgradient optimization. Numerical studies demonstrate that the proposed approaches are powerful methods for solving this problem
A Detailed Study of 2S 0114+650 with the RXTE
We present the results of a detailed study of the high mass X-ray binary 2S
0114+650 made with the pointed instruments onboard the Rossi X-ray Timing
Explorer. The spectral and temporal behaviour of this source was examined over
the pulse, orbital, and super-orbital timescales, covering 2 cycles of
the 30.7 d super-orbital modulation. Marginal evidence for variability of the
power law photon index over the pulse period was identified, similar to that
observed from other X-ray pulsars. If this variability is real it can be
attributed to a varying viewing geometry of the accretion region with the spin
of the neutron star. Variability of the neutral hydrogen column density over
the orbital period was observed, which we attribute to the line of sight motion
of the neutron star through the dense circumstellar environment. A reduction in
the power law photon index was observed during the orbital maximum, which we
speculate is due to absorption effects as the neutron star passes behind a
heavily absorbing region near the base of the supergiant companion's wind. No
significant variability of the column density was observed over the
super-orbital period, indicating that variable obscuration by a precessing warp
in an accretion disc is not the mechanism behind the super-orbital modulation.
In contrast, a significant increase in the power law photon index was observed
during the super-orbital minimum. We conclude that the observed super-orbital
modulation is tied to variability in the mass accretion rate due to some as yet
unidentified mechanism.Comment: 22 pages, 27 figures, accepted for publication in MNRAS after

High-dispersion spectroscopic monitoring of the Be/X-ray binary A0535+26/V725 Tau I: The long-term profile variability
We report on optical high-dispersion spectroscopic monitoring observations of
the Be/X-ray binary A0535+26/V725 Tau, carried out from November 2005 to March
2009. The main aim of these monitoring observations is to study spectral
variabilities in the Be disc, on both the short (a week or so) and long (more
than hundreds of days) timescales, by taking long-term frequent observations.
Our four-year spectroscopic observations indicate that the V/R ratio, i.e., the
relative intensity of the violet (V) peak to the red (R) one, of the
double-peaked H-alpha line profile varies with a period of 500 days. The H-beta
line profile also varies in phase with the H-alpha profile. With these
observations covering two full cycles of the V/R variability, we reconstruct
the 2-D structure of the Be disc by applying the Doppler tomography method to
the H-alpha and H-beta emission line profiles, using a rigidly rotating frame
with the V/R variability period. The resulting disc structure reveals
non-axisymmetric features, which can be explained by a one-armed perturbation
in the Be disc. It is the first time that an eccentric disc structure is
directly detected by using a method other than the interferometric one.Comment: (10 pages, 9 figures, accepted to MNRAS
