Effect of agro-climatic conditions on near infrared spectra of extra virgin olive oils

Authentication of extra virgin olive oil requires fast and cost-effective analytical procedures, such as near infrared spectroscopy. Multivariate analysis and chemometrics have been successfully applied in several papers to gather qualitative and quantitative information of extra virgin olive oils from near infrared spectra. Moreover, there are many examples in the literature analysing the effect of agro-climatic conditions on food content, in general, and in olive oil components, in particular. But the majority of these studies considered a factor, a non-numerical variable, containing this meteorological information. The present work uses all the agro-climatic data with the aim of highlighting the linear relationships between them and the near infrared spectra. The study begins with a graphical motivation, continues with a bivariate analysis and, finally, applies redundancy analysis to extend and confirm the previous conclusions.Peer Reviewe

Testing caffeic acid as a natural antioxidant in functional fish-fibre restructured products

7 páginas, 4 figuras, 5 tablasThe antioxidant effectiveness of caffeic acid addition to minced fish muscle with or without wheat dietary fibre added was studied. Wheat dietary fibre showed a significant prooxidant effect on minced fish muscle during chilled storage that was significantly inhibited in presence of 100 mg/kg caffeic acid. In samples containing caffeic acid and wheat dietary fibre, lipid oxidation was completely inhibited after 10 days. Results obtained from the instrumental texture profile analysis showed that the inclusion of wheat dietary fibre with or without caffeic acid lowered the texture profile analysis parameters. Caffeic acid did not render any changes on the water binding capacity. Diseño del cuestionario "Calidad de entornos abiertos" (CEA)

Novenes Jornades de Foment de la Investigació de la FCHS (Any 2003-2004)El Cuestionario denominado “Calidad de Entornos Abiertos” (CEA) y diseñado por el equipo WONTPrevenció Psicosocial, se enmarca en un proyecto de investigación dirigido al estudio de espacios abiertos como parques o lugares de esparcimiento de Castellón, con el fin de obtener especificaciones de diseño aplicables a la configuración del entorno y productos de uso colectivo en el ámbito urbano, tomando como punto de partida las vivencias de los usuarios. Para obtener información acerca de de estas experiencias de uso, se ha diseñado este cuestionario de autoinforme que además de aportar información sobre el perfil de los usuarios de los espacios al aire libre estudiados, suministra datos referidos a las percepciones, emociones y bienestar, preferencias estéticas y de uso de estas personas. Los resultados obtenidos con este cuestionario posibilitarán, posteriormente, la determinación de aspectos tan importantes como la mejora de la accesibilidad, funcionalidad, mantenimiento, calidad paisajística, etc., que puede actuar de manera positiva en las experiencias de los usuarios de estos espacios y como consecuencia en su bienestar y calidad de vida

La presente contribución se concibe como un espacio de reflexión sobre la propia investigación, concretamente sobre la configuración del currículum investigador de profesionales de la Educación Musical que proceden de la carrera musicológica pero que aterrizan en la didáctica teniéndose que adaptar a la investigación educativa por exigencias del sistema con mayor o menor suerte, resistencias o complejos. Physical comparision and social physique anxiety: gender differences

La importancia de trabajar la autoestima y el desarrollo de una imagen corporal positiva se vislumbra con gran interés desde edades tempranas, debido a las consecuencias desadaptativas derivadas. El objetivo primario de este estudio fue analizar las posibles diferencias entre géneros en cuanto a la comparación hacia la apariencia física y la ansiedad física. Un segundo objetivo pretendió analizar la relación predictiva de la comparación hacia la apariencia física (hacia arriba y hacia abajo) sobre la ansiedad físico social. Participaron 347 universitarios (188 hombres y 159 mujeres) con edades entre 18 y 24 años (Medad = 20.42; DTedad = 1.54). Los resultados derivados de la prueba t de estudiante mostró diferencias estadísticamente significativas en comparación hacia arriba, comparación hacia abajo y ansiedad físico social a favor de la mujer. Los resultados emergidos del análisis de regresión lineal reflejaron que tanto la comparación hacia arriba como la comparación hacia abajo predijeron la ansiedad físico social, después de controlar el modelo por el género. Como conclusión, este estudio subraya que una excesivamente comparación hacia la apariencia física podría conducir a la ansiedad físico social tanto en hombres como en mujeres.The importance of working on self-esteem y the development of a positive body image is glimpsed with a great interest from an early age, due to the maladaptive consequences derived from them. The primary objective of this research was to analyze the possible difference among gender in appearance comparison y social physique anxiety. The secondary objective aimed to analyzing the predictive relationship of physical (upward y downward) appearance comparison on social physique anxiety. There were 347 university students (188 men y 159 women), aged between 18 y 24 (Mage = 20.42; SDage = 1.54). The results derived from the t-Student tests showed statistically significant difference in upward comparison, downward comparison y social physique anxiety in favor of women. The results emerged from the linear regression analysis reflected that both upward comparison y downward comparison predicted social physical anxiety positively y significantly, after controlling the model for gender. In its conclusion, this research underlines that an excessive body-image comparison may lead to social physique anxiety in men y women
