Higgs decay into two photons from a 3HDM with flavor symmetry

In this short letter we show that the excess of events in the decay of Higgs to two photons reported by ATLAS and CMS can be easily accommodated in a flavor renormalizable three Higgs doublet model (3HDM). Kinetics of Growth of Iron Boride Layers on a Low-Carbon Steel Surface

This chapter describes the boriding process and the parameters that govern it. It also describes the features of the obtained layers and the main applications of materials treated with this hardening process. The kinetics of growth of the Fe2B face is described using a mathematical model, in which the evolution of the growth of the boride layers is assumed to be controlled by the boron diffusion by means of a dimensional analysis of Fick’s second law. The evolution of the growth of the Fe2B face on a low-carbon steel surface is illustrated by contour diagrams that involve the main variables of the process (time and exposure temperature). This type of diagrams allows the optimization of the process as a function of the treatment parameters

Operaciones aéreas vs controladores aéreos, ¿una problemática resuelta por la UAEAC?

Debido al caos aéreo que se presento en Colombia durante los meses de noviembre de 2011 a febrero de 2012, por la llamada Operación Reglamento , ejecutada por los controladores aéreos del país, es importante dar a conocer qué factores hicieron que esto sucediera, entre los cuales encontramos el escaso personal de controladores con los que cuenta la Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil, UAEAC, para satisfacer la demanda de operaciones aéreas, el exceso de trabajo no remunerado y la pobre infraestructura tecnológica que tienen los aeropuertos del país. Aquí se hace un planteamiento de cómo la UAEAC estaba faltando a los derechos laborales de los controladores, la falta de planeación por parte de esta misma entidad para capacitar la cantidad de controladores aéreos suficientes para las exigencias del tráfico aéreo, y por último, la pobre infraestructura tecnológica en los aeropuertos del país.Due to aerial chaos which took place in Colombia during November 2011 to February 2012, by the called Operación Reglamento performed by the air traffic controllers, it is important to put into knowledge different subjects which made this happened, such as low staff of air traffic controllers hired by the UAEAC in order to satisfy all demand of air traffic operations, higher labor hours than fixed under the contract without being paid and the lack of technology equipments used in airports. Principio y técnicas de la visualización de datos en la usabilidad de interfaces gráficas de usuario

En esta investigación pre-experimental, los principios y técnicas de visualización de datos se utilizaron para diseñar una propuesta metodológica para diseñar interfaces gráficas de usuario con el fin de mejorar la usabilidad. Los algoritmos de procesamiento visual y los principales de visualización de datos fueron tomados para diseñar la propuesta metodológica, luego el módulo de reportes estadísticos del sub sistema de reclamos del cliente que pertenece al sistema comercial de la empresa SEDALIB S.A. fue tomado como un estudio de caso. Posteriormente una muestra de 18 usuarios pertenecientes a cinco sedes de la empresa fue seleccionada para llevar a cabo la evaluación de la usabilidad mediante el diseño de pre test y pos test. La propuesta metodológica diseñada demostró ser una forma eficaz para mejorar la usabilidad de interfaces gráficas de usuario relacionadas del módulo bajo investigación, según los resultados la mejora de la usabilidad no se debe al azar sino a la hipótesis planteadaIn this pre-experimental research, the principles and techniques of data visualization were used to design a methodological proposal to design graphical user interfaces in order to improve the usability. Ferropenia como factor de riesgo para convulsión febril en niños menores de 5 años en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo.

Se realizará una investigación para establecer si la ferropenia es una condición de riesgo para la presentación de convulsión febril en infantes de 3 meses a 60 meses de edad en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo (HRDT); la investigación será analítica, observacional, retrospectiva, de casos y controles. La poblacion estara formada por niños de 3 meses a 5 años que fueron evaluados en el Departamento de Pediatría del HRDT en el periodo abril – noviembre 2019, quienes se adecuaron a los criterios establecidos. La evaluación estadistica se realizará mediante la prueba delaChi Cuadrado (X 2 ) para variables cualitativas; consderándose las asociaciones estadisticamente significativas con una probabilidad de errar menor al 5% (p < 0.05). Debido a que es una investigación que determinará la relación entre variables mediante un estudio de casos y controles; se obtendrá el odds ratio (OR) que ofrecen la exposición a ferropenia en concordancia con la convulsión febril. Methodology for the generation of 3D city models and integration of HBIM models in GIS: Case studies

[EN] The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry increasingly demands the availability of semantic and interactive digital models with the environment, capable of simulating decision-making during its life cycle and representing the results achieved. This motivates the need to develop models that integrate spatial information (GIS) and construction information (HBIM), favouring the achievement of the Smart City and Digital Twin concepts. GIS & HBIM platform is a useful tool, with potential applications in the world of built heritage; but it still has certain inefficiencies related to interoperability, the semantics of the formats and the geometry of the models. The objective of this contribution is to suggest a procedure for the generation of 3D visualization models of existing cities by integrating HBIM models in GIS environments. For this, three software and two types of data sources (existing plans and point cloud) are used. Power System Oscillations with Different Prevalence of Grid-Following and Grid-Forming Converters

The oscillatory behaviour of the power system is an aspect that is significantly affected by the increasing integration of converter-based generation sources. Several works address the impact of non-synchronous generation on the operation of the system from different points of view, but only a few studies focus on power-frequency oscillations with a prevalence of generation sources interfaced through power electronics. A lack of research can be found in particular in the comparative analysis of the two main control strategies for power converters, namely grid-following and grid-forming. The article aims to contribute to this direction, starting from a theoretical analysis of the two control structures and then examining the case study of an existing transmission system. The research provides a specific insight into the fundamental aspects related to synchronisation mechanism and inertial capabilities of both grid-following with synthetic inertia and grid-forming controls. The difference in the relationship between synchronisation unit and inertial capability is recognised as the fundamental aspect determining the different impacts on the oscillatory characteristics of the system. The observation derived in the theoretical analysis is then applied to an actual power system with a high predominance of converter-based generation, considering the Colombian interconnected national system as a case study

Mantener los logros de la vacunación implica también “inmunizar” contra lo que se oponga

La inmunización es por todos aceptada como uno de los mejores logros de la salud pública y de la humanidad, pues los programas implementados en los países&nbsp;han contribuido de modo muy importante a la reducción de la mortalidad y la morbilidad de enfermedades infecciosas, siendo un hito importante la erradicación de la viruela en el mundo y la eliminación de la poliomielitis en las Américas.&nbsp;Muchos brotes recientes de enfermedades&nbsp;prevenibles por vacunación en diferentes países se han relacionado con comunidades no vacunadas, hecho que es un riesgo global,&nbsp;dada la migración inevitable de personas.&nbsp;Los factores sobre la decisión de&nbsp;los padres de usar o evitar la vacunación de sus hijos, obedecen a conductas complejas y multidimensionales, incluyendo determinantes contextuales relacionados con los servicios de vacunación, o&nbsp;también individuales tales como conocimientos, actitudes y creencias o aspectos sociodemográficos.&nbsp;Pese a los esfuerzos, pocas estrategias de salud pública han&nbsp;tenido éxito y continuidad para contrarrestar los movimientos anti-vacuna, no siendo el problema solo la falta de conocimiento, por lo que se debemos desarrollar respuestas innovadoras para abordar este comportamiento anti-vacuna -de manera multidisciplinaria- determinando sus causas, así como los contextos en los que se dan.&nbsp;Pese al grado de desarrollo y el avance científico-tecnológico, paradójicamente hay brotes de enfermedades prevenibles por vacuna en países del primer mundo. El Perú, así como los países Latinoamericanos, tienen la fortaleza en sus programas de vacunación, que si bien han tenido algunas oscilaciones de coberturas en de terminados momentos, siguen siendo&nbsp;una arma contundente en el control de&nbsp;enfermedades inmunoprevenibles e incluso se están haciendo esfuerzos para eliminar algunas como la hepatitis B.&nbsp;Es nuestro deber mantener y fortalecer estos programas en todos sus componentes, incluyendo estrategias convincentes&nbsp;para inmunizarlas contra los grupos que se oponen sin fundamento, porque si se detiene la vacunación reaparecerán indefectiblemente enfermedades mortales.&nbsp;Para mantener los logros de la vacunación hace falta también “inmunizar” contra todo lo que se le oponga sin fundamento
