    Millennials’ Contribution in Disaster Risk Reduction: Case Study of Tidal Flooding in Semarang

    This research focuses on the contribution of young millennials in reducing the risk of tidal flooding along the northern coast of Semarang. Young millennials have received special attention in disaster management, and the study of digital transformations in disaster management has become more significant. The objective of this study is to examine how smart disaster responses to natural disasters, specifically the case of tidal flooding in three districts of the city (North Semarang, Genuk, and Tugu) and a district nearby Demak Regency (Sayung). To obtain comprehensive results, this research uses qualitative methods, which data collected through in-depth interviews; Focus Groups Discussion (FGD); observations; and desk studies. This study finds that Millennials’ involvement is very important due to their distance from political interests and innovatively able to offer strategies in reducing the problems caused by tidal floods. The involvement of millennials in disaster management is relevant, given that Semarang will soon enjoy the demographic bonus, i.e. have a significant percentage of its population of productive age. Lastly, this research argues that vibrant public participation in disaster management can only be possible under democratic circumstances. As the implication, the study on public active participation might help disaster risk reduction campaign

    RISK CONTROL OF CONTINGENCY TRANSACTION IN PROFIT SHARING SYSTEM

    This study is descriptive and theoretical to anticipate the occurrence of losses arising from the contingency conditions in the services of sharia banks that implement the system for the results. The accounting treatment according to Ariani (2012) in the implementation of the principle of profit sharing is not fully in accordance with the principles of Islamic sharia. The compliance on the Statement of Financial Accounting Standard (SFAS) No.59 concerning Islamic banking financial accounting of the science, but there are not yet according to science Fiqh Syafi'iyah, because SAK is made for businesses that are full profit oriented while sharia principles are oriented to profit and mutual interest. Another thing that arises is the risk of uncertainty in the form of contingencies. Contingent transactions have not affected the position in the company's balance sheet and profit and loss. Contingencies under PSAK No.31 must be presented in such a way that when associated with assets and liabilities items can adequately represent the bank's financial position. Contingency is a transaction that has not changed the position of the bank's assets and liabilities at the report date, but the must be executed by the bank if the terms agreed with the customer are met.  The result in, the contingent impacts may be claims or liabilities in both Rupiah and Foreign Currency. For that reason, banks need to make capital reserves derived from income, profit, general analysis of funding, and reserves of special purpose to anticipate contingent conditions that occurred, and be borne by the bank concerne

    Comparison of Emotional Intelligence, Self-Development, Decision for Selecting a Profession and Work Productivity between Librarian with Education in Library Science and Inpassing Librarian in Indonesia

    This study aims to determine the differences in emotional intelligence level, self-development, the decision to select a profession, and work productivity between librarians with education in library science and inpassing librarians. Librarians with library science education are those with a library science education background. In contrast, inpassing librarians are those with non-library education who decide to switch professions to become librarians by following librarianship recruitment and training procedures. This study uses a comparative approach. Collecting data uses a survey method by distributing an instrument in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale to 126 librarians who work in the State Islamic Religious College libraries in Indonesia. Samples were taken through a proportional random technique using the Slovin formula. The data analysis technique used bivariate comparative analysis with the statistical t test. The results show that the difference in emotional intelligence between librarians with education in library science and inpassing librarians has an average value of 60.43 and 58.71, respectively, with a Sig. of 0.647 \u3e 0.05, which means that it is homogeneous and the value is Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.380 \u3e 0.05, which means there is no significant difference. It also happens in career development between librarians educated in library science and inpassing librarians who have an average value of 48.15 and 46.55, respectively, with a Sig. of 0.231 \u3e 0.05 and the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.283 \u3e 0.05. Likewise, selecting a profession with an average value of 23.04 and 22.80, respectively, with a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.743 \u3e 0.05. The comparison of work productivity has an average value of 89.44 and 86.57, respectively, with the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.256 \u3e 0.05. The conclusion is that there is no significant difference between librarians with education in library science and inpassing librarians in terms of emotional intelligence, career development, selecting a profession, and work productivity. They get the same opportunities to be able to develop their careers. It takes policies and supports from the leadership and the government to create a conducive environment so that they can compete, support, and complement each other, showing good achievements and performance in providing excellent service to the community

    This study aims to determine and explain: the influence of satisfaction factors (reward, organizational climate and work motivation on job satisfaction; influence of job satisfaction on performance; influence of factors of job satisfaction (reward, organizational climate and work motivation on job satisfaction). This type of research used in this research is explanatory research with a quantitative approach.The variables in this study are reward, organizational climate and work motivation as independent variables, job satisfaction as a mediator variable and librarian performance as the dependent variable.This study uses data obtained from questionnaire by the respondent Data analysis method used is descriptive analysis and path analysis The results of the path analysis show that reward, organizational climate and work motivation have no significant effect on job satisfaction; job satisfaction has a significant and positive effect on performance librarian; reward, organizational climate and work motivation have no significant effect on employee librarian

    This study aims to analyze the influence of quality of pharmaceutical services and management on the decision to repur purchase outpatient medicines at the Pharmaceutical Installation of Labuang Baji Makassar Hospital in 2019. The research was conducted at Labuang Baji Makassar Hospital which began with a survey first until the research in February 2020. The population in the study was patients (Non BPJS / KIS) re-buyers in the Pharmaceutical Installation of RS Labuang Baji Makassar in February 2020 and the sample in this study amounted to 60 0rang Analysis method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method, with double regression testing preceded by conducting validity and reliability tests of each variable question items as well as assumption tests. The results of this study show that: 1) Officer-friendly attitude has a significant positive influence on the decision to re-buy at the pharmacy Labuang Baji Hospital, 2) The completeness of the prescription has a significant positive influence on the decision to re-buy at the pharmacy Labuang Baji Hospital, 3) The price of the drug has an insignificant negative influence on the decision to re-buy at the pharmacy Labuang Baji Hospital , 4) Drug safety information has a significant positive influence on the decision to re-buy at the pharmacy Labuang Baji Hospital, 5) Drug safety information has a dominant effect on the buyback decision.     Perkembangan industri semakin maju dan mengalami peningkatan termasuk dibidang tekstil. Dalam industri tekstil, para pekerja selalu terpapar langsung debu lingkungan kerjanya. Pemaparan debu menimbulkan kelainan paru tenaga kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara umur, jenis kelamin, kadar debu, masa kerja, kebiasaan merokok, kebiasaan olahraga, dan penggunaan APD dengan gangguan fungsi paru pekerja industri tekstil CV. Bagabs Makassar.Jenis penelitian ini adalah survey analitik dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Data diambil dari responden dengan metode survei menggunakan kuesioner, vacum pump untuk mengukur kadar debu dan spirometri untuk pengukuran fungsi paru. Penarikan sampel dengan teknik exhaustive sampling sebanyak 40 orang pekerja pada tiga unit bagian produksi. Berdasarkan uji statistik, hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara umur (p=0.035) dan masa kerja (p=0.095) dengan gangguan fungsi paru pada pekerja CV Bagabs Makassar. Sedangkan untuk jenis kelamin, kadar debu, kebiasaan merokok, kebiasaan berolahraga, dan penggunaan APD tidak memiliki hubungan dengan gangguan fungsi paru pada pekerja.Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa umur dan masa kerja berhubungan dengan gangguan fungsi paru pekerja CV Bagabs Kota Makassar. Saran untuk pihak Industri CV Bagabs untuk menerapkan waktu kerja yang sesuai dengan peraturan perundang undangan pasal 77 ayat 2 poin B UU no 13 tahun 2003

    Pekerja pengecatan dan body repair mobil adalah pekerjaan yang memiliki risiko kecelakaan dengan mempunyai peluang cukup besar untuk terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian kecelakaan kerja pada bengkel pengecatan mobil di Kota Makassar tahun 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross sectional study dengan jumlah populasi 68 orang dan sampel sebanyak 51 yang ditentukan dengan accidental sampling dengan melakukan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan umur dengan kejadian kecelakaan kerja dengan nilai p = 0,190 < ??(0,05), tidak ada hubungan masa kerja dengan kejadian kecelakaan kerja dengan nilai p = 0,215< ??(0,05), tidak ada hubungan unit kerja dengan kejadian kecelakaan kerja dengan nilai p = 0,338 > ??(0,05), tidak ada hubungan penggunaan alat pelindung diri dengan kejadian kecelakaan kerja dengan nilai p = 0,063 < ??(0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak ada hubungan antara umur, masa kerja, unit kerja, dan penggunaan alat pelindung diri terhadap kejadian kecelakaan kerja pada pekerja bengkel pengecatan mobil di Kota Makassar

    Kebutuhan akan berbagai produk barang dan jasa mendorong tumbuhnya beragam kegiatan industri dalam upaya peningkatan pemasaran, penjualan, dan lain sebagainya. Dalam rangka peningkatan tersebut, kini banyak dimanfaatkan jasa percetakan. Percetakan adalah industri kimia intensif dengan pekerja yang pada umumnya terpapar bahan kimia berbahaya dalam jumlah besar, sehingga dapat menimbulkan risiko bahaya terhadap pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pengetahuan, persepsi, dan praktik perlindungan diri terhadap risiko bahaya kimia pada karyawan percetakan di Kota Makassar Tahun 2013. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh gambaran karyawan dengan pengetahuan tinggi sebanyak 38 orang (26,0%), sedang 90 orang (61,6%), dan berpengetahuan rendah sebanyak 18 orang (12,3%). Karyawan dengan persepsi positif sebanyak 112 orang (76,7%), persepsi negatif sebanyak 34 orang (23,3%). Karyawan yang melakukan cara kerja aman sebanyak 122 orang (83,6%) sedangkan cara kerja tidak aman sebanyak 24 orang (16,4%). Karyawan yang menggunakan alat pelindung diri dengan kategori tidak baik sebanyak 126 orang (86,3%) sedangkan kategori baik sebanyak 20 orang (13,7%). Diharapkan agar karyawan lebih memperhatikan penggunaan alat pelindung diri seperti sarung tangan, masker, dan baju lengan panjang saat sedang bekerja.\ud Kata kunci: pengetahuan, persepsi, praktik perlindungan diri, bahaya kimia, percetaka

    This research aims to (1) find the determinants for the increase of population growth rate and(2) understand the role of urban area as the pulling factor for the migrant. This research heldin Yogyakarta Special Region since the population growth has increasing during 2000-2010.Secondary data from the Bureau of Statistic (BPS) were used for the main analysis. Dataprocessing and analysis were performed by using descriptive-quantitative method.The resultof this research indicates that population growth rate in Yogyakarta Special Region isaffected by the increase of immigration from the other provinces. This migration is referred tothe recent migration, in which people entering this province as motivated by educational,family, sense of security, tourism, and job seeking background. This research also revealsthat Yogyakarta City and Sleman Regency becomes the center for pulling the migrant. This isespecially due to its function as the base for economy, educational city, area with stablesecurity, and low cost of living

    The design of this research is descriptive quantitative to determine the effect of discipline, motivation, and self-development on the performance of the state civil apparatus in the Financial Management Agency and Regional Assets in the Province of West Sulawesi. The study population is all state civil servants who work at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency of Mamuju Regency with a population of 62 people, by sampling method applied because the total population is less than 100, then the entire population becomes the study sample. The time of the study was carried out for 3 months, start from April to July 2019. Using primary data sources with ordinal data scales measured on a Liker’s scale, with technical analysis in multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously indicated by the results of the F test, that discipline, motivation, and self-development affect employee performance. Partially it is also shown by the t-test results that discipline, motivation, and self-development partially affect employee performance, with motivation being the dominant variable influencing employee performance. Keywords: Discipline, Motivation, Personal Development, State Civil Apparatus Performanc
