    Anomalies in Universal Intensity Scaling in Ultrarelativistic Laser-Plasma Interactions

    Laser light incident on targets at intensities such that the electron dynamics is ultrarelativistic gives rise to a harmonic power spectrum extending to high orders and characterized by a relatively slow decay with the harmonic number m that follows a power law dependence, m^{-p}. Relativistic similarity theory predicts a universal value for p = 8/3 up to some cut-off m = m*. The results presented in this work suggest that under conditions in which plasma effects contribute to the emission spectrum, the extent of this contribution may invalidate the concept of universal decay. We report a decay with harmonic number in the ultrarelativistic range characterised by an index 5/3 < p < 7/3, significantly weaker than that predicted by the similarity model.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

    A singular structure: Monopost made in composites

    p. 3002-3012This work presents the design process, the analysis, and the performance of a cylindrical hollow monopost, made entirely in composites. It is about a translucent structure of height 40m, external diameter 1.60m and the average wall-thickness 11mm. The material is a polymer made up of vinylster resin and reinforced by glass fiber (GFRP). The manufactured processing used is filament winding. Moreover, due to geographical emplacement where it is situated, the structure has to support wind velocity value above 180Km/h and its elastic modulus of the material does not exceed 25GPa. Eventually, we was able to achieve an optimum solution and strentgh structure, considering and developing differents types of approaches and analysis, such as linear, non-linear and buckling.Rovira, JA.; Martin, P.; Pons, D.; Almerich Chulia, AI.     En este trabajo se presentan 27 especies de dinoflagelados (Pyrrhophyta), procedentes de muestreos realizados durante el otoño de 1989, en la zona nerítica del Mediterráneo frente al puerto de Castellón (U.T.M. 31S BE451293). Se comentan algunas características morfométricas de especies pertenecientes a los géneros: Prorocentrum, Amphisolenia, Dinophisis,Ornithocercus, Peridinium,Ceratocorys y Ceratium. La especie Dinophisis schuetti Murray et Whitting, 1899, se cita por primera vez para esta costa.In the present work, 27 species of dinoflagellates (Pyrrhophyta) were determinated. The samples were taken in the 1989 autumn in the Mediterranean neritic zone near the harbour of Castellón (Eastern coast of Spain) (U.T.M. 31S BE451293). Morphometrical characteres of the species are coment. The species are incluse in the genus: Prorocentrum, Amphisolenia,Dinophysis,Ornithocercus,Peridinium,Ceratocorys and Ceratium. The specie Dinophisis schuetti Murray et Whitting, 1899 is reported for the first time in this coast
