Documents, realized in languages for special purposes, are well known sources of knowledge acquisition as well as of knowledge conveying. Nevertheless, we do know little about the real effects and the resulting conceptual understanding. The aim of the present study that has been supported by Centrum für Lehrerbildung und Bildungsforschung (CeLeb, Universität Hildesheim) was to get more insights into some possible results which can be achieved through applying a combined text-linguistic method of analyzing thematic and knowledge structures of texts. In addition, because of the standardized representation of text-dependent thematic structures (macro-structures) and the transfer of them into text-independent knowledge structures (knowledge schemata) the students themselves can control their progress of learning by comparing the different representations. As the applied text material has been selected from documents concerning topics of »sustainability” the study also contributes to the domain of «Education of sustainable development». What have been shown are some correlations between strategies of text-analysis (bottom-up and top-down), the degree of profiting from the text potential and the input of own knowledge resources. All together have an impact on the model of sustainability that can be complex or simple and which is expressed in terms of special language as well as non-special vocabulary. In principle, the method sketched in this paper that has been elaborated in a text-theoretical approach can be applied on different levels of teaching and learning. More research is necessary in order to define additional relevant parameters
Wilhelm Reublin als Kopist: Die Abschrift des Arzneibuchs des Johann Poll, Znaim 1549
Wilhelm Reublin, a pioneer of Zurich Anabaptism who played an important role in Southwestern Germany and Moravia, lived from 1535 until his death (ca. 1559) in the South Moravian town of Znojmo after his retreat from anabaptist congregational life. To support himself, he took on occasional jobs, among others work as a copyist of Latin texts. It is highly likely that part of the manuscript Pharmacopoeia, cod. 11410 in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, is in his hand
Nonsingular bilinear forms on direct sums of ideals
In the paper we formulate a criterion for the nonsingularity of a
bilinear form on a direct sum of finitely many invertible ideals of a domain. We
classify these forms up to isometry and, in the case of a Dedekind domain, up to
similarity
Ionic liquids as a versatile tool to study antimicrobial strategies of and against filamentous fungi
"Life threatening microbial infections caused by pathogenic bacteria or fungi
are becoming an increasing concern for our society, due to the increasing
appearance of antimicrobial (multi-)resistant strains and the lack of
appropriate treatment options. In the case of fungal infections, Aspergillus
spp. can lead to severe invasive infections with Aspergillus fumigatus being
the main cause, especially in severely immunocompromised patients.
Wild primes of a higher degree self-equivalence of a number field
Let ` > 2 be a prime number. Let K be a number field containing a unique `-adic prime and assume that its class is an `th power in the class group CK. The main theorem of the paper gives a sufficient condition for a finite set of primes of K to be the wild set of some Hilbert self-equivalence of K of degree `
