Mental health problems in society are becoming new and more distressing as explained by the Ministry of Health Malaysia and the World Health Organization. Mental problems occur amongst working adults, the elderly, adolescents and children, men and women. Recent research confirms that the causes of mental health problems are due to genetic problems, personal problems, financial problems, learning pressures and stress at workplace. The effects of mental health problems can lead to depression, emotional tension, personality disorder and suicide. In order to obtain a wealth of information, researchers have accompanied critical analysis studies by viewing at several empirically established from previous studies. The first finding shows that mental illness classified as a brain disorder, an emotional disorder and an abnormal attitude. The second finding explains that the level of mental health knowledge among students is still low. The third study examines the causes of schizophrenia, which have four causes of the disease, namely genetic factors, drugs, work stress and poverty. The fourth finding explains the experience of caring for a mentally ill person who is also having trouble in the life of the patient's family. Generally, this study explains that mental illness is a problem that has various negative effects on various people. Implications of mental illness transpire over the long term if treatment not properly performed. Therefore, proactive initiatives prerequisite to be taken by all parties to ensure the quality of life of the people will perfect and normal devoid of interruption of mental illness

Abstract: Green chemistry is an important learning approach that provides education on environmental sustainability through the implementation of 12 principles introduced since the late 1990s. However, the success of this approach depends on the level of students' knowledge of all the principles contained in green chemistry. This study aims to examine the level of knowledge of the three principles of green chemistry among fourth grade students who take chemistry subjects at school. The three principles are prevention, atom economy and the use of raw materials from renewable sources. A qualitative study was conducted involving 80 high school students. A set of questions for the Knowledge Test _Kimia Hijau (UP_KH) was administered in this study. The data was analyzed by content analysis. The findings of the study show that students have a low knowledge of the principles of green chemistry, namely prevention, atom economy and the use of raw materials from renewable energy sources. Students' knowledge of the principle of prevention is general to prevent environmental pollution. It focuses on three general aspects namely legal action, campaigning and waste management. Pupils have low knowledge in the principle of economic atoms and cannot make the correct connection between the value of economic atoms and the level of effectiveness of a reaction. Students' knowledge was also found to be low regarding renewable raw material sources and the importance of their implementation in a chemical reaction. Knowledge about the principles of green chemistry is very important to give early exposure to students about the need for early stage prevention to overcome environmental pollution problems

"Human Resource (HR) transformation need to enlargement the influence in an organisation. Nonetheless, regard the admonition; change determinations that focus completely on improving human resource (HR) are bounce to fail. Dave Ulrich is the human resource founder and has qualified with evolving the human resource business mate, model and other dominant ideas in books including ""HR Champions"" and ""The HR Value Proposition"". Besides, Ulrich explains the six competencies HR be required to develop to accept the challenges of the worldwide economic crisis, globalisation, technological innovations and other change. His argument about Human resources rises to the people employed by an organization. Quantity the value of human resources verifies difficult due to lack of standard and traditional measures such as those related with permanent and liquid assets. For example, human resource cannot depreciate like physical resources, nor do they reflect the net value of an organization as financial resources accomplish. Human resources are just as important as physical and financial resources. Regrettably, organizational leaders and managers frequently overlook this actuality since human resources not used to reflect the organisation’s achievement.

Pembelajaran berasaskan masalah dalam sains: satu meta analisis

    Get PDF

Critical thinking skills are high-order thinking skills in which students are required to solve complex problems. The topic of reaction rate has conceptual knowledge, cognitive skills, and psychomotor skills that can be used to assess and develop students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of science eleventh graders on reaction rate. This research applies the survey research method. As the research instrument, it uses a critical thinking skills test on the reaction rate consisting of 27 multiple choice questions with a reliability of 0.756 by involving 153 public senior high school students. The authors develop this test. The results show that the average score of respondents’ critical thinking skills was 33.66 (low category). At the sub-skill level, the average score of respondents' skills in interpreting was 32.73 (low), analyzing was 29.04 (low), inferencing was 36.77 (low), evaluating was 24.61 (low), and explaining was 33.88 (low). This shows that the learning experiences of the students have not been able to develop their critical thinking skills. Therefore, this research suggests the need for a learning strategy that can be used to improve students' critical thinking skills

One of the key objectives in the National Education Blueprint is to produce students with higher order thinking skills. The concern is raised based on the poor performances of Malaysian students in the international assessments of Trends in Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). One of the factors that might contribute to the decline in achievement is the teaching approach applied in Malaysian schools. A revolution in current teaching approach is thus needed. Problem based learning (PBL) is one of the teaching approach being widely implemented and is proven to be beneficial in stimulating students? higher order thinking skills through solving real-world problems. Similarly, the integration of technology during teaching and learning process such as online learning has also been proven to improve students? higher order thinking skill. Based on these foundations, the blended problem based learning (BPBL) that integrates face-to-face PBL and online learning platforms, is believed seems to be an effective teaching approach that can improve PBL and thus enhancing students? higher order thinking skill. This is due to BPBL offers the benefit of both face-to-face PBL and online learning. However, the studies in this area are still insufficient particularly in Malaysian schools? context. Thus, this paper is aimed at discussing on the opportunities and challenges faced in the implementation of BPBL in Malaysian context
