The hypoxic transcription factor KlMga2 mediates the response to oxidative stress and influences longevity in the yeast Kluyveromyces lactis

Hypoxia is defined as the decline of oxygen availability, depending on environmental supply and cellular consumption rate. The decrease in O2 results in reduction of available energy in facultative aerobes. The response and/or adaptation to hypoxia and other changing environmental conditions can influence the properties and functions of membranes by modifying lipid composition. In the yeast Kluyveromyces lactis, the KlMga2 gene is a hypoxic regulatory factor for lipid biosynthesis-fatty acids and sterols-and is also involved in glucose signaling, glucose catabolism and is generally important for cellular fitness. In this work we show that, in addition to the above defects, the absence of the KlMGA2 gene caused increased resistance to oxidative stress and extended lifespan of the yeast, associated with increased expression levels of catalase and SOD genes. We propose that KlMga2 might also act as a mediator of the oxidative stress response/adaptation, thus revealing connections among hypoxia, glucose signaling, fatty acid biosynthesis and ROS metabolism in K. lactis

Assessment of predation risk through conspecific cues by anuran larvae

Accurate assessment of predation risk is critical for prey survival during predator–prey interactions. Prey can assess predation risk by the presence of cues dropped by predators themselves, but they can also gather information about risk level through cues released by other prey, avoiding the hazard of being in close proximity to predators. In this study, we examine the ability of anuran larvae (Pelobates cultripes) to detect predation risk indirectly when they are in contact with conspecifics that have been recently exposed to chemical stimuli from natural predators (larvae of aquatic beetles). In a first experiment, we confirmed that larvae exposed to predator cues exhibited innate defensive behavior, indicating that they perceived the risk of predation and, thus, could potentially act as risk indicators for naïve conspecifics. In a second experiment, we observed that unexposed larvae paired with a startled conspecific adjusted their antipredator behavior, presumably by mirroring conspecifics’ behavior and/or using chemical cues from their partners as a risk information source. The thiocyanate anion as a polydentate halogen bond acceptor

International audienceCo-crystallisation of the Et4N+ or n-Bu4N+ salts of the thiocyanate anion with o-, m- and p-diodoperfluorobenzene or the sym-trifluorotriiodobenzene allowed for the isolation of six different salts which were structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Halogen bonding interactions are observed between the neutral iodinated molecules acting as halogen bond donors and the S or N ends of the thiocyanate anion, with a variety of bonding modes (terminal as well as bridging), and characterised by short I(N,S) contacts and linear C-I(N,S) motifs. On the other hand, the IN≡C angles present deviations from linearity (145-170°) while the IS-C angles are close to 90°, revealing a type II halogen bond interaction with the S atom acting as pseudo halogen. The observation of structures where only the S or the N atom are engaged in halogen bonding suggests that the two coordination modes are close in energy, as confirmed by DFT calculations and ELF analysis which give also a rationale for the observed structural preferences. This bidentate nature of the SCN− anion in halogen bonding interactions is reminiscent of its various coordination modes with the Cd2+ cation, best understood in terms of the hard-soft acid-base concept

Chemical Surface Modifications development of Silicon Based Label Free Integrated Optical (IO) Biosensors: A Review

[EN] Increasing interest has been paid to label-free biosensors in recent years. 11 Among them, refractive index (RI) optical biosensors enable high density and the chip-12 scale integration of optical components. This makes them more appealing to help 13 develop lab-on-a-chip devices. Today, many RI integrated optical (IO) devices are made 14 using silicon-based materials. A key issue in their development is the 15 biofunctionalization of sensing surfaces because they provide a specific, sensitive 16 response to the analyte of interest. This review critically discusses the 17 biofunctionalization procedures, assay formats and characterization techniques 18 employed in setting up IO biosensors. In addition, it provides the most relevant results 19 obtained from using these devices for real sample biosensing. Implementación de estrategias de endomarketing en la satisfacción laboral avícola Lescano de Chicama, 2021

La presente tesis de investigación titulada “Implementación de estrategias de endomarketing en la satisfacción laboral avícola Lescano de Chicama, 2021”, tiene como objetivo determinar la influencia de la implementación de estrategias de endomarketing que influye en la satisfacción laboral en la empresa avícola Lescano de Chicama en el año 2021.El tipo de investigación fue explicativa. La población estuvo conformada por 35 colaboradores administrativos. Para recolectar los datos fue por medio de un cuestionario de satisfacción laboral adaptado por (Roni Lomas Púa, 2017). Los principales resultados indican que la empresa no aplica estrategias de endomarketing en la dimensión de reconocimiento, generando que solo el 17.14% de los colaboradores está presenten una satisfacción regular, el cual incremento a un 57% luego de la implementación de las estrategias de endomarketing dentro de la organización, siendo un punto de vital importancia para el colaborador, manifestando que no son valorados por la entidad. La conclusión que se llegó fue que luego de aplicar las estrategias de endomarketing hubo mejoras de un 30% en la satisfacción laboral en los colaboradores de Avícola Lescano de Chicama,2021.The present research thesis entitled ""Implementation of endomarketing strategies in Lescano de Chicama poultry job satisfaction, 2021"", aims to determine the influence of the implementation of endomarketing strategies that influences job satisfaction in the Lescano de Chicama poultry company in the year 2021 The type of research was explanatory. La Morosidad y su Incidencia en la Rentabilidad de la Empresa Comercial Suela Costa EIRL, año 2017

La presente investigación realizada en la Empresa Comercial Suela Costa EIRL, tuvo como objetivo general, determinar la incidencia de la morosidad en la rentabilidad de la empresa comercial suela Costa EIRL Año 2017, así como también, analizar la rentabilidad y describir las cusas de la morosidad. Los datos se obtuvieron mediante el análisis documentario y la guía de entrevista, por lo que la población estuvo conformada por la empresa comercial Suela Costa EIRL y la muestra por la empresa comercial Suela Costa EIRL Año 2017. Es por ello, que este estudio es Descriptivo, ya que los datos que se investigan se obtuvieron de manera directa de la empresa comercial Suela Costa EIRL. Concluyendo de esta forma, que la morosidad incide negativamente en la rentabilidad, puesto que en el año 2017, la rentabilidad con morosidad fue de 24.48% y sin morosidad de 34.09%

Liderazgo ejecutivo y gestión del talento humano en la gerencia de administración de la municipalidad de Surco 2016

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general determinar de qué manera hay una relación entre el liderazgo ejecutivo y Gestion del Talento Humano en la Municipalidad de Surco 2016 , la población es de 125 empledos y la muestra considerada es de 95 en los cuales se ha utilizado las variables: liderazgo ejecutivo y Gestion del Talento Humano.. El método empleado en la investigación fue el hipotético deductivo, esta investigación utilizó para su propósito el diseño no experimental de nivel comparativo, que recogió la información en un período específico, que se desarrolló al aplicar el instrumento: cuestionario de Liderazgo ejecutivo y Gestion del Talento Humano en la escala politómica ordinal (nunca) (casi nunca),(a veces) (casi siempre) (siempre), que brindó información acerca del liderazgo ejecutivo y Gstion del Talento Humano en sus distintas dimensiones, cuyos resultados se presentan gráfica y textualmente. La investigación concluye que existe evidencia significativa para afirmar que: La liderazgo ejecutivo se relacionan significativamente con la GestMion del Talento humano en la Municipalidad de Surco 2016

El liderazgo pedagógico y la gestión curricular en la I.E.T.I. N°20325 San José De Manzanares, Huacho

Objetivo: tipificar el grado de asociación que se manifiesta entre el liderazgo y la gestión curricular docente. Así mismo, metodológicamente: se desarrolló dentro de los parámetros cuantitativos, de la línea de investigación descriptiva, relacional y de diseño transeccional. La población: fue conformada por 28 docentes que laboran en un plantel escolar de la localidad de Manzanares, jurisdicción de la UGEL. 09-Huaura. En cuanto a la muestra: se basó en el método censal, al cual se aplicó como instrumento de recolección: un cuestionario el mismo que previamente fue validado y contó con la fiabilidad correspondiente. Resultados: luego de haberse procesado los datos y realizado los procedimientos estadísticos en su forma descriptiva e inferencial, se puedo confirmar las hipótesis planteadas

Site-specific immobilization of DNA on silicon surfaces by using the thiol-yne reaction

[EN] Covalent immobilization of ssDNA fragments onto silicon-based materials was performed using the thiol-yne reaction. Chemical functionalization provided alkyne groups on the surface where the thiol-modified oligonucleotide probes can be easily photoattached as microarrays, reaching an immobilization density around 30 pmol cm(-2). The developed method presents the advantages of spatially controlled probe anchoring (by using a photomask), direct attachment without using cross-linkers, and short irradiation times (20 min). Hybridization efficiencies up to 70%, with full complementary strands, were reached. The approach was evaluated by scoring single nucleotide polymorphisms with a discrimination ratio around 15.
