    On the Impossibility of Strategy-Proof Coalition Formation Rules

    We analyze simple coalition formation problems in which a group of agents is partitioned into coalitions and agents' preferences only depend on the identity of the members of the coalition to which they belong. We study coaltion formation rules that associate to each profile of agents'' preferences a partition of the group of agents. Assuming that agents'' preferences are separable, we show that no coalition formation rule can satisfy the joint requirements of strategy-proofness, individual rationality, non-bossiness, and voters'' sovereignty.Coalition Formation Rule

    We analyze coalition formation problems in which a group of agents is partitioned into coalitions and agents' preferences only depend on the coalition they belong to. We study rules that associate to each profile of agents' preferences a partition of the society. We focus on strategyproof rules on restricted domains of preferences, as the domains of additively representable or separable preferences. In such domains, only single-lapping rules satisfy strategy-proofness, individual rationality, non-bossiness, and flexibility. Single-lapping rules are characterized by severe restrictions on the set of feasible coalitions. These restrictions are consistent with hierarchical organizations and imply that single-lapping rules always select core-stable partitions. Thus, our results highlight the relation between the non-cooperative concept of strategy-proofness and the cooperative concept of core-stability. We analyze the implications of our results for matching problems

    Age-Based Preferences in Paired Kidney Exchange

    We consider a model of Paired Kidney Exchange (PKE) with feasibility constraints on the number of patient-donor pairs involved in exchanges. Patients' preferences are restricted so that patients prefer kidneys from compatible younger donors to kidneys from older donors. In this framework, patients with compatible donors may enroll on PKE programs to receive an organ with higher expected graft survival than that of their intended donor. PKE rules that satisfy individual rationality, eciency, and strategy-proofness necessarily select pairwise exchanges. Such rules maximize the number of transplantations among pairs with the youngest donors, and sequentially among pairs with donors of dierent age group

El Subtema es Registro, aplicación y pago del impuesto sobre la Renta (IR) en Inversiones Agropecuarias S.A de Matagalpa durante el año 2015, cuya empresa es cafetalera dedica a la venta de Café en el extranjero. El objetivo del estudio es determinar la importancia de la correcta aplicación de los registros, aplicación y pago de Impuesto sobre la Renta (IR) basados en la ley 822, Ley de Concertación Tributaria vigente en la republica de Nicaragua. . Para el gremio contable que será alimentado por esta graduación es importancia analizar el Impuesto sobre la Renta IR en la ejecución de las sociedades anónimas ya que esto constituye un eje fundamental de las declaratorias de impuesto anuales a los cuales están obligados a declarar al finalizar el Periodo Fiscal.     Analytical Characterization and Sensory Analysis of Distillates of Di erent Varieties of Grapes Aged by an Accelerated Method

    The wine spirits used for the elaboration of Brandy de Jerez are mainly obtained from wines produced from the Airen type of grape, which comes from the vineyards located in the region of La Mancha (Central Spain). This entails a limitation when achieving a product classified as "protected geographic designation". For that purpose, it is necessary that the grape used for the wine spirit comes from the area and not from Castile la Mancha, as has happened until now. Due to this fact, it is necessary to search for a possible alternative grape variety which allows the produced brandy to be eligible for a "protected geographic designation". For that purpose, an accelerated ageing process has been implemented with a method previously optimized to distillates obtained from wines from different varieties of grapes (Airen, Colombard, Corredera, Doradilla, Garrido Fino, Jaen blanco, Moscatel de Alejandria, Palomino Fino, Ugni Blanc, and Zalema) grown in the Jerez Area. They were evaluated, both from the analytical and sensory points of view. The distillates made from Jaen Blanco and Zalema have properties that make them interesting for future development and incorporation into oenological practice

    Characterization and Di erentiation of Spanish Vinegars from Jerez and Condado de Huelva Protected Designations of Origin

    Thirty one Jerez vinegar samples and 33 Huelva vinegar samples were analyzed for polyphenolic and volatile compound content in order to characterize them and attempt to di erentiate them. Sixteen polyphenolic compounds were quantified by means of ultraperformance liquid chromatography method with diode array detection (UPLC–DAD), and 37 volatile compounds were studied by means of stir bar sorptive extraction–gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (SBSE–GC–MS). Spectrophotometric CIELab parameters were also measured for all the samples. The results obtained from the statistical multivariate treatment of the data evidenced a clear di erence between vinegars from the two geographical indications with regard to their polyphenolic content, with Jerez vinegars exhibiting a greater phenolic content. Di erentiation by the volatile compound content was, however, not so evident. Nevertheless, a considerable di erentiation between the two groups of vinegars based on their volatile fraction was achieved. This may bring to light the grape varieties and geographical factors that have a clear influence on such di erences

    La divulgación de conocimientos agropecuarios con base técnica fue una de las tantas prioridades del Ministerio de Agricultura de la Nación, que cristalizó en la organización de Agronomías Regionales para abastecer las demandas de diferentes regiones del país. En particular, la implementación de un sistema de Enseñanza Extensiva demandó la asociación estratégica con firmas ferroviarias para ampliar la cobertura de aquel servicio, en términos de extensión y de potenciales destinatarios. Es objetivo de este artículo conocer las primeras discusiones sobre el sistema de las Agronomías Regionales y su grado de implementación a partir del decisivo apoyo de las firmas ferroviarias, en los casos tucumano, mendocino y pampeano.The dissemination of technically based farming knowledge was one priority of the National Agricultural Ministry, solidified through the creation of Regional Agronomy Offices to meet the different regional demands across the country. Particularly, implementing an outreach system required the strategical partnership with the railroad companies to broaden the scope of the service, both in terms of extension and potential recipients.     Controlled degradability of PCL-ZnO nanofibrous scaffolds for bone tissue engineering and their antibacterial activity

    Up to date, tissue regeneration of large bone defects is a clinical challenge under exhaustive study. Nowadays, the most common clinical solutions concerning bone regeneration involve systems based on human or bovine tissues, which suffer from drawbacks like antigenicity, complex processing, low osteoinductivity, rapid resorption and minimal acceleration of tissue regeneration. This work thus addresses the development of nanofibrous synthetic scaffolds of polycaprolactone (PCL) - a long-term degradation polyester - compounded with hydroxyapatite (HA) and variable concentrations of ZnO as alternative solutions for accelerated bone tissue regeneration in applications requiring mid- and long-term resorption. In vitro cell response of human fetal osteoblasts as well as antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus of PCL:HA:ZnO and PCL:ZnO scaffolds were here evaluated. Furthermore, the effect of ZnO nanostructures at different concentrations on in vitro degradation of PCL electrospun scaffolds was analyzed. The results proved that higher concentrations ZnO may induce early mineralization, as indicated by high alkaline phosphatase activity levels, cell proliferation assays and positive Alizarin-Red-S-stained calcium deposits. Moreover, all PCL:ZnO scaffolds particularly showed antibacterial activity against S. aureus which may be attributed to release of Zn2+ ions. Additionally, results here obtained showed a variable PCL degradation rate as a function of ZnO concentration. Therefore, this work suggests that our PCL:ZnO scaffolds may be promising and competitive short-, mid- and long-term resorption systems against current clinical solutions for bone tissue regeneration.Fil: Felice, Betiana.
