Because of this requirement, it became a really aggressive market, where the least detail can make the difference. One of the details that can be really differentiating is related to network management. With all the changes and rapid evolution of telecommunications, this can be considered a critically important point. An efficient and optimized network management can save time and money and that is why it is a mandatory aspect in this market. There are two different paths to be considered: long term management, which consists in saving less detailed data for long periods of time, and real time management that allows much more detailed information for narrower time frame. Because of database and costs related issues, only one of them must be chosen and there is some important information that may become “invisible”, leading to unsolved problems that can be highly expensive. Regarding this situation, it would be extremely beneficial for the telecom operators if they could visualize both types of data, having the long term information along with the most important details of real time information in one view.A indústria das Telecomunicações é um mundo onde os serviços de dados, voz e outros serviços importantes têm que estar disponíveis sempre e em todo o lado. Por causa dessas exigências, tornou-se um mercado extremamente agressivo, onde o menor detalhe pode fazer a diferença. Um desses detalhes diferenciadores está relacionado com a gestão da rede. Com todas as mudanças e rápida evolução das telecomunicações, este pode ser considerado um ponto crítico. Uma gestão eficiente e otimizada pode poupar tempo e dinheiro e por isso é um aspeto crucial deste mercado. Em termos de gestão e monitorização das redes, há dois caminhos a considerar: gestão a longo prazo, que consiste em salvar dados menos detalhados por longos períodos de tempo; e gestão em tempo real, que permite dados muito mais detalhados mas durante uma janela temporal consideravelmente menor. Devido a limitações ao nível da base de dados e elevados custos, apenas um deve ser escolhido, o que leva a que se perca alguma informação em qualquer dos casos. Assim, podem surgir problemas cuja resolução será complicada e dispendiosa. Posto isto, seria extremamente benéfico para as Operadoras de Telecomunicações, se pudessem analisar os dois tipos de dados, tendo a informação a longo prazo juntamente com os detalhes mais importantes em tempo real numa só aplicação

HISAR : hydrologic Indices of South American Rivers

This is a preview of the HISAR dataset (Hydrologic Indices of South American Rivers). The HISAR dataset is freely available for non-commercial use. The files provided are (i) drainage line shapefile with river reaches as represented by the MGB model and 73 attributes corresponding to hydrologic indices derived from simulated time series; (ii) gauge points shapefile with 73 attributes corresponding to hydrologic indices derived from observed time series; (iii) maps with hydrologic indices, (iv) maps with information of the error of some indices and (v) the scripts used to calculate the indices. This database provides a spatial view of the variability of the river flow regime characteristics. The line shapefile has 33,749 river reaches with an average length of 15 km and drainage area > 1000 km². The ESRI shapefile also has the attributes of drainage area (Upst_Area_ in km²), length (Ltr_Km_ in km), UC (corresponding catchment attribute from hydrological modelling), HYear_min (starting month of the hydrological year of minimum flow) and HYear_max (starting month of the hydrological year of maximum flow). A value of -9999999 is used as a symbol of ‘no data’. Some river reaches do not have all hydrologic indices calculated, due to series of streamflows that could not meet specific criteria. For instance, the baseflow recession constant was automatically calculated using at least five consecutive days of decreasing streamflow, all of which below the Q90 (streamflow value that is exceeded 90% of the time), and this condition was not found in all cases. The gauge points shapefile has 1329 points with 73 attributes corresponding to hydrologic indices derived from observed time series. The drainage area of the gauges ranging from 1,000 to 4,703,503 km2. The ESRI shapefile also has the attributes of code, name, latitude (lat), longitude (long), drainage area (Upst_Area_ in km²), Country were the gauge point are located, HYear_min (starting month of the hydrological year of minimum flow) and HYear_max (starting month of the hydrological year of maximum flow). BENDING PROPERTIES OF CROSS-LAMINATED TIMBER PANELS PRODUCED WITH Pinus taeda FROM A MOUNTAIN REGION IN SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL

The present work had the objective to study the bending strength of 6 Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels produced in the laboratory using reactive polyurethane structural adhesive and Pinus taeda lumber. The test methodology was based on the recommendations of the British standard BS EN 16351 (2015), with samples measuring 140 x 100 x 4.7 cm. An average value of 9,640 MPa was obtained for the modulus of elasticity, 30.24 MPa for the characteristic bending strength and 0.79 MPa for the characteristic shear strength. Production costs showed a value of R$ 100.93 per m², below the cost of masonry panels in ceramics and concrete blocks. The preliminary tests with CLT panels partially attended the standard requirements, with the mechanical classification of the lumber with a modulus of elasticity above 12,000 MPa being necessary in the production process

The effect of the behavioral treatment for enuresis on other behavior problems

O objetivo do estudo foi investigar o efeito do tratamento para enurese sobre os escores de outros problemas de comportamento. Foram coletadas as informações de 97 prontuários de crianças e adolescentes atendidos no período de 2002 a 2006 em uma clínica-escola de psicologia, em programa específico para enurese com uso do alarme de urina. Os dados sobre problemas de comportamento foram avaliados por meio do Child Behavior Checklist, respondido pelas mães antes e depois do tratamento. Foi encontrada uma redução significativa nos escores de problemas de comportamento, independentemente do sucesso ou não no tratamento para enurese.This work aimed to investigate the treatment effect for enuresis on other behavior problems' scores. Clinical records of 97 enuretic children and adolescents, receiving urine alarm treatment in a university clinic center from 2002 to 2006, were analyzed. Behavior problems' data were assessed through the Child Behavior Checklist, filled by the mothers at the beginning and at the end of the treatment. Results indicate a significant reduction on behavior problems' scores at the end of treatment, despite of enuresis treatment outcome.FAPESPCNP

Desafios na conservação e promoção do uso do mangarito (Xanthosoma riedelianum Scott)

A Embrapa Hortaliças, Brasília-DF (Brasil), abriga o banco de germoplasma de hortaliças não convencionais (hortaliças tradicionais). Este banco foi criado em 2006 com o objetivo de resgatar e conservar ex situ a diversidade genética e promover seu uso pelos agricultores, fortalecendo também a conservação local (in situ / on farm). No banco são mantidas 42 espécies, dentre elas o mangarito (Xanthosoma riedelianum), que apesar de nativo está caindo em desuso , com riscos de desaparer. Foram realizadas várias atividades para animar os agricultores familiares a cultivar mangarito por meio de cursos, dias de campo, visitas ao banco de germoplasma, palestras em eventos e participação em feiras. Estima-se que este banco já forneceu variedades de mangarito para mais de 1.600 agricultores e também para bancos de germoplasma de outras instituições. “COMUNICAÇÃO” INTERSISTÊMICA: A MODULAÇÃO DOS EFEITOS DA DECISÃO ENQUANTO OPERAÇÃO DE ABERTURA COGNITIVA DO SISTEMA JURÍDICO

O presente trabalho busca enfrentar a dificuldade da comunicação intersistêmica, com base na teoria dos sistemas desenvolvida por Niklas Luhmann, de modo a analisar o funcionamento do fechamento dos sistemas sociais autopoiéticos. Além disso, é abordada a possibilidade de abertura cognitiva do sistema jurídico, mediante captação de informações prestadas por outros sistemas sociais. Por fim, analisa-se a modulação dos efeitos da decisão, enquanto operação realizada pelo Judiciário, como forma de abertura cognitiva do sistema jurídico, propondo-se que a modulação dos efeitos da decisão poderá se valer da observação intersistêmica, a fim de se buscar alcançar a satisfação de mais de um sistema social, na operação que o sistema jurídico realizar
