Avaliação da Qualidade dos Serviços de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Utilizando a Aplicação do Modelo Adaptado de Mensuração dos 5 GAPS´s

O desenvolvimento de instrumentos de avaliação institucional aptos a reconhecer a percepção dos clientes de instituições de ensino superior é de fundamental importância para a adequada prestação de serviços educacionais. Partindo-se dessa premissa, este artigo apresenta uma adaptação do modelo conceitual de qualidade em serviço ou modelo GAP à avaliação educacional em um curso de Pós-Graduação de uma instituição de ensino superior no município de Guarapuava-Pr. Seus objetivos específicos consistem em discutir sucintamente os modelos de escalas de avaliação da qualidade associados ao ensino de Pós-Graduação, detalhando as potencialidades e as limitações do emprego desta técnica em reconhecer a percepção de qualidade dos estudantes do curso em estudo. Em seus resultados o trabalho pôde identificar variáveis bem avaliadas e, também, estruturas, processos e condutas que devem ser aperfeiçoados na oferta dos próximos cursos. Puderam-se reconhecer, ainda, os grupos com julgamentos distintos e os atributos responsáveis pelos dissensos, que servirão de parâmetro para a priorização oportunidades de melhoria

O Rumo do Marketing Verde nas Organizações: Conceito, Oportunidades e Limitações.

A postura ética e consciente de uma empresa ou indivíduo, desperta o interesse mais significante com relação às suas responsabilidades sociais e ambientais, contribuindo dessa forma com a sustentabilidade do meio ambiente. Sendo este fator um aliado importante no mercado, o marketing verde surge como mecanismo de apoio condizente com as práticas ambientais dentro das organizações. Uma parcela significativa de empresas em todo o mundo têm sido rápidas em aceitar conceitos como sistemas de gestão ambiental e minimização dos impactos ambientais que integram as questões ambientais em todas as suas atividades organizacionais. Uma área da gestão onde as questões ambientais têm recebido uma grande discussão frente à população é o marketing. À medida que diversos mercados ficam mais transparentes para consumidores conscientes ambientalmente, a busca da sustentabilidade deixa de ser uma escolha para as organizações e se torna uma condição de sobrevivência, afetando todos os processos dentro da empresa, inclusive o marketing. A maioria da população acredita que o marketing ambiental se refere exclusivamente à promoção ou publicidade de produtos com características ambientais. Porém, o Marketing Verde ou Ambiental consiste em uma visão mais conceitual das atividades de marketing, buscando satisfazer as necessidades humanas de modo que as satisfações destas necessidades ocorram gerando impacto mínimo ao meio ambiente. O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar os termos e conceitos de marketing verde, discutir a importância da cultura verde nas organizações e examinar algumas das razões pelas quais as organizações estão adotando um marketing verde como filosofia, além de mencionar alguns dos problemas mais comuns relacionados com a utilização do marketing verde. Effects of dietary curcumin in growth performance, oxidative status and gut morphometry and function of gilthead seabream postlarvae

An imbalance in the production and detoxification of reactive oxygen species and other oxidants can disrupt a l l types of cellular compounds, and lead to a state of oxidative stress. Preventing this state is essential to improve growth and health in animal production. Therefore, the aim of this work was to assess i f the dieta r y supple-mentation of curcumin cou l d improve the antioxidant status and intestine structu r e and functionalit y of gilthead seabream postlarvae, with the global objective of improving fish growth performance and robustness. Two experimental diets supplemented with different doses of curcumin (LOW and HIGH diets), and a commercial diet were fed to quadruplicate groups of postlarvae, for 20 days. At the end of the feeding trial fish fed the supple-mented diets significantly improved their antioxidant status compared to CTRL fed fish. LOW and HIGH fed fish presented lower protein oxidative damage (P 0.05). In conclusion, dieta r y curcumin supplementation was able to enhance gilthead seabream postlarvae robustness through a modulation of the oxidative status, increasing total antioxidant capacity and decreasing protein oxidative damage. This data pro-vide evidence that curcumin can be a suitable feed additive to promote heath status and robustness of fish at early stages of development, therefore contributing for the development and sustainabilit y of marine fish hatchery production.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Expression of TILs and Patterns of Gene Expression from Paired Samples of Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma (MPM) Patients

In the first line of treatment, the combination of nivolumab and ipilimumab demonstrated an improvement in survival over chemotherapy. The presence of TILs has been recognized as a marker of antitumor immune response to chemotherapy in solid tumors. The aim of our study is to identify the effect of treatment on immune cells and the immune gene profile in MPM. We investigated the changes in expression of TILs in 10 human MPM paired tumor tissues using immunohistochemistry and gene expression analysis from paired untreated and treated samples. In this small series, we demonstrated that during the evolution of disease without any treatment there was an increase in the inflammatory component in tumor samples. After systemic treatment there was a decrease in the number of TILs. We observed that after systemic treatment or disease progression immune gene signatures were suppressed. Our integrated analysis of paired samples with immune profile and genomic changes on MPM suggested that during the evolution of the disease the immune system tends to switch, turning off with treatment.The study was partially funded by Project PREDICT-Meso (GEACC19003CED), funded by Fundación AECC

Els treballs han estat realitzat per la totalitat dels estudiants dels grups M-2 i M-3 de l’assignatura Botànica Farmacèutica durant els mesos d’abril i maig del curs 2013-14. Tots els treballs s’han dut a terme a través de la plataforma de GoogleDocs i han estat tutoritzats pel professor de l’assignatura i revisats i finalment co-avaluats entre els propis estudiants. Management of acute diverticulitis with pericolic free gas (ADIFAS). an international multicenter observational study

Background: There are no specific recommendations regarding the optimal management of this group of patients. The World Society of Emergency Surgery suggested a nonoperative strategy with antibiotic therapy, but this was a weak recommendation. This study aims to identify the optimal management of patients with acute diverticulitis (AD) presenting with pericolic free air with or without pericolic fluid. Methods: A multicenter, prospective, international study of patients diagnosed with AD and pericolic-free air with or without pericolic free fluid at a computed tomography (CT) scan between May 2020 and June 2021 was included. Patients were excluded if they had intra-abdominal distant free air, an abscess, generalized peritonitis, or less than a 1-year follow-up. The primary outcome was the rate of failure of nonoperative management within the index admission. Secondary outcomes included the rate of failure of nonoperative management within the first year and risk factors for failure. Results: A total of 810 patients were recruited across 69 European and South American centers; 744 patients (92%) were treated nonoperatively, and 66 (8%) underwent immediate surgery. Baseline characteristics were similar between groups. Hinchey II-IV on diagnostic imaging was the only independent risk factor for surgical intervention during index admission (odds ratios: 12.5, 95% CI: 2.4-64, P =0.003). Among patients treated nonoperatively, at index admission, 697 (94%) patients were discharged without any complications, 35 (4.7%) required emergency surgery, and 12 (1.6%) percutaneous drainage. Free pericolic fluid on CT scan was associated with a higher risk of failure of nonoperative management (odds ratios: 4.9, 95% CI: 1.2-19.9, P =0.023), with 88% of success compared to 96% without free fluid ( P <0.001). The rate of treatment failure with nonoperative management during the first year of follow-up was 16.5%. Conclusion: Patients with AD presenting with pericolic free gas can be successfully managed nonoperatively in the vast majority of cases. Patients with both free pericolic gas and free pericolic fluid on a CT scan are at a higher risk of failing nonoperative management and require closer observation

Pervasive gaps in Amazonian ecological research

Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050. Optimasi Portofolio Resiko Menggunakan Model Markowitz MVO Dikaitkan dengan Keterbatasan Manusia dalam Memprediksi Masa Depan dalam Perspektif Al-Qur`an

Risk portfolio on modern finance has become increasingly technical, requiring the use of sophisticated mathematical tools in both research and practice. Since companies cannot insure themselves completely against risk, as human incompetence in predicting the future precisely that written in Al-Quran surah Luqman verse 34, they have to manage it to yield an optimal portfolio. The objective here is to minimize the variance among all portfolios, or alternatively, to maximize expected return among all portfolios that has at least a certain expected return. Furthermore, this study focuses on optimizing risk portfolio so called Markowitz MVO (Mean-Variance Optimization). Some theoretical frameworks for analysis are arithmetic mean, geometric mean, variance, covariance, linear programming, and quadratic programming. Moreover, finding a minimum variance portfolio produces a convex quadratic programming, that is minimizing the objective function ðð¥with constraintsð ð 𥠥 ðandð´ð¥ = ð. The outcome of this research is the solution of optimal risk portofolio in some investments that could be finished smoothly using MATLAB R2007b software together with its graphic analysis
