    Individual body mass and length dataset for over 12,000 fish from Iberian streams

    We provide a unique fish individual body size dataset collected from our own sampling and public sources in north-eastern Spain. The dataset includes individual body size measures (fork length and mass) of 12,288 individuals of 24 fish species within 10 families collected at 118 locations in large rivers and small streams. Fish were caught by one-pass electrofishing following European standard protocols. The fish dataset has information on the local instream conditions including climatic variables (i.e., temperature and precipitation), topography (i.e., altitude), nutrient concentration (i.e., total phosphorus and nitrates), and the IMPRESS values (a measure of cumulative human impacts in lotic ecosystems). The potential uses of this new fish dataset are manifold, including developing size-based indices to further estimate the ecological status of freshwater ecosystems, allometric models, and analysis of variation in body size structure along environmental gradients

    Neurodinámica: movilizaciones del sistema nervioso estudio descriptivo observacional

    Programa de doctorat: Cures Integrals i Serveis de SalutIntroducción: La neurodinámica se considera una técnica de terapia manual donde las fuerzas aplicadas van orientadas a la acción sobre las estructuras nerviosas a partir de la movilización y posicionamiento de las articulaciones, integrando las funciones biomecánicas y fisiológicas del sistema nervioso. Objetivos: Analizar y cuantificar el desplazamiento del nervio ciático en la región isquiosural mediante ecografía mediante la técnica del “Frame-by-frame cross correlation system” en función de la rama terminal seleccionada así como observar si hay una restricción del desplazamiento en persones con lesión isquiosural. Resultados La rama terminal que genera un mayor desplazamiento del nervio ciático en la región isquiosural es la tibial con 1’89mm (SD±0,11). Hay diferencias significativas en el desplazamiento del nervio ciático en función de si hay lesión muscular a nivel isquiosural o no (p=0’0035), 1,26 mm (SD± 0,52) en personas sanas y 0,803 mm (SD± 0,57) en personas con lesión.Introduction: Neurodynamics is considered a manual therapy technique where the applied forces are oriented to the action on the nerve structures from the mobilization and positioning of the joints, integrating the biomechanical and physiological functions of the nervous system. Objectives: To analyze and quantify the displacement of the sciatic nerve in the hamstring region by ultrasound using the "Frame-by-frame cross correlation system" technique depending on the selected terminal branch, as well as to observe if there is a restriction of displacement in people with hamstring injury. Results The terminal branch that generates a greater displacement of the sciatic nerve in the hamstring region is the tibial nerve with 1.89mm (SD±0.11). There are significant differences in the displacement of the sciatic nerve depending on whether there is muscle injury at the hamstring level or not (p=0.0035), 1.26 mm (SD± 0.52) in healthy people and 0.803 mm (SD± 0.57) in people with injury
