Estudio empírico sobre la violencia de género en Galicia: tipos delictivos y circunstancias comisivas

El presente trabajo tiene por objeto el análisis empírico de algunos aspectos y características de la violencia de género. Para ello hemos seleccionado y tratado la información procedente de los expedientes de la Fiscalía de Área de Santiago de Compostela relativos a asuntos sobre violencia de género que concluyeron con sentencia firme, durante los años 2005 a 2012 (en total 580 expedientes).The aim of this work is to analyze empirically some aspects and characteristics of the gender violence. For it we have selected and treated the information extracted from the files of the District attorney's office of Santiago de Compostela relative to matters on gender violence which concluded with final judgement, during the period from 2005 to 2012 (in total 580 files)

Theoretical approach to non-formal education as a learning resource in attention to diversity: the role of the socio-family context

This paper reflects on the relevance of non-formal education in childhood and adolescence, with particular emphasis on attention to diversity, highlighting the importance of including the social and family environment in this learning process. For this purpose, a global theoretical review of special education in Spain is presented, firstly addressing its formal historical evolution up to the birth of what is known as educational inclusion. Thus, a new educational model based on attention to diversity for students with specific educational support needs (SESN) is created to provide learning focused on optimizing students’ personal and academic development. This comprehensive vision impacts socio-educational intervention from a non-formal field of education as a complementary alternative to formal education at different life cycle stages and in many contexts

La determinación multidimensional del desempeño empresarial sostenible

En la medida en que el entorno empresarial se ha modificado el desempeño de las entidades ha cobrado diversos matices, exigiendo un enfoque diferente. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la determinación multidimensional del Desempeño Empresarial Sostenible. El análisis crítico de la bibliografía especializada centró la atención en los objetivos que persiguen cada propuesta, las dimensiones y los indicadores que se evalúan.   Se demuestra: que las propuestas analizadas son, mayoritariamente, unilaterales y excluyentes, con un sesgo a favor del aspecto económico-financiero y la supresión preceptiva de la dimensión medioambiental y social; la necesidad del enfoque multidimensional del desempeño empresarial sostenible para lograr un análisis más integral de la relación de la empresa con su entorno; que sus cuatro dimensiones (ambiental, económico –tecnológica,  legal, y  social), representan sus determinaciones cualitativas, que posibilitan un  enfoque multilateral y permiten identificar las determinaciones cuantitativas para su medición y evaluación

Exploring Populism in Times of Crisis: An Analysis of Disinformation in the European Context during the US Elections

Funding: This research was funded by the VI Research Plan University of Seville [grant number IV.3-2017, Periodismo II].Electoral contests around the world are suffering from an increasing distrust triggered by the dissemination of conspiracy theories. Extant research on political communication has largely studied this phenomenon, but, in some cases, it has neglected the relationship between social and legacy media in the breakthrough of a radicalized populism. Based on a wide literature review of liberal democracy and the roots of populism, this study addresses the right-wing populist communicative actions as one of the causes of the fragmentation of the democratic system, defining a journalistic and fact-checking standard to promote a well-informed society. Specifically, our research focus is to illustrate the impact of populist rhetoric on the traditional media system through a multiple-case study applied in European countries affected by right-wing populist discourse following the last United States elections (2020). The results show a connection among the strategies (game frames) used on Twitter, being less clear in the number of retweets and the presence on the front pages of newspapers. These data serve as a guide to build a journalistic indicator, arguing that high-quality information could be the key for democratic systems to minimize populist rhetoric and tackle the disinformation that endangers their future

Cognitive reserve mediates the severity of certain neuropsychological deficits related to cocaine use disorder

Introduction: The concept of cognitive reserve (CR) is being considered in the field of substance use disorder (SUD) by observing that there are individuals whose brain alterations are not related to the cognitive symptomatology they present. Aims: Our aims were to characterise the possible neuropsychological deficits in a sample of subjects with SUD compared to a control group and to determine whether the degree of CR is a mediator in the cognitive functioning of these patients. Methods: To perform these objectives, the study involved a sample of subjects with SUD in outpatient treatment and a control group. A CR questionnaire and a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment were administered, and we also collected data related to drug consumption and psychological well-being. Results: The SUD group showed poorer performance compared to the control group in several cognitive domains (attention, declarative memory, executive functions and emotional perception), as well as in psychological comfort. Interestingly, we observed that the deficits found in attention, declarative memory and executive functions were mediated by the CR level of the participants, an effect that we did not observe in the rest of the variables registered. Conclusion: Our results suggest that long-term drug consumption leads to cognitive deficits and affects the psychological well-being of the subjects. Moreover, the CR should be taken into account during the assessment and rehabilitation of patients with SUD due to its protective role against certain neuropsychological deficits.Universidad de Málaga.
