    Estilos de crianza y calidad de vida en estudiantes de secundaria de una Institucion Educativa Pública de Huancayo - 2023

    En la presente investigación se ha planteado el siguiente problema ¿Qué relación existe entre estilos de crianza y calidad de vida en estudiantes de secundaria de una Institución Educativa Pública de Huancayo – 2023?, el cual tuvo como objetivo identificar la relación que existe entre estilos de crianza y calidad de vida en estudiantes de secundaria de una Institución Educativa Pública de Huancayo – 2023. Con respecto a la metodología se utilizó el método científico, con un enfoque cuantitativo, además, la investigación de tipo básico, nivel de investigación relacional, diseño correlacional de corte transversal. La población estuvo constituida por 710 estudiantes de 1ro al 5to del nivel secundario, el muestreo que se utilizó es tipo no probabilístico por intencionalidad, por tanto, la muestra estuvo conformada por 360 estudiantes. Para la recaudación de datos se usó la técnica de encuesta, los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron la Escala de Estilos de Crianza de Steinberg (1993) y la Escala de Calidad de Vida de Olson y Barnes (1982) versión adaptada a Perú , los resultados obtenidos se pudo concluir que según la prueba de correlación de Rho de Spearman, encontrando (Rho = 0,608**, P. valor = 0.000 < 0,05), P. valor es menor que el margen de error = 0,05 de alfa, indicando que, existe relación directa alta entre estilo de crianza y calidad de vida en los estudiantes; por lo tanto se acepta la hipótesis alterna y se rechaza la hipótesis nula. Finalmente se recomienda a las autoridades educativas promover el bienestar de los alumnos, la implementación y realización de seminarios psicológicos, entre otras actividades dinámicas encaminadas a mejorar la calidad de vida de padres – estudiantes

    Leaf Blast \u3cem\u3e Pyricularia grisea \u3c/em\u3e Effects on Buffelgrass Forage and Seed Production in Northwestern Mexico

    Common buffelgrass Cenchrus ciliaris (T-4464) is an introduced species intensively planted in Mexico to increase productivity on rangelands. Studies have shown that the species produces 5 to 10 times more forage as compared to native species on rangelands (Martin et al., 1995). Previous studies in the Gulf of Mexico have shown that the fungus Pyricularia grisea causes a disease in buffelgrass known as leaf blight and induce serious damage to the plant affecting forage production and nutritive quality (Ocumpaugh and Rodríguez, 1998; González, 2002). Injuries begin in the inferior leafs as small dark stains that later are converted in injuries bronze color of round and elliptic form, necrotic, with dark red margins and with a chlorotic yellow halo (Rodriguez et al., 1999). A high humidity and temperature condition in the Pacific Northwest during the last years is believed to be creating ideal conditions for Pyricularia which is suspected to affect buffelgrass. Currently, no data are available in this region to confirm fungus presence and its impact on forage and seed productivity on buffelgrass pastures.     Chromium Species and 3D-Fluorescence Spectroscopy in a Soil Irrigated with Industrial Wastewater

    Irrigation of agricultural land with wastewater is beneficial because it incorporates organic matter into the soil, as well as organic ions (such as nitrates, sulfates, and phosphates). However, long-term application causes negative effects such as the accumulation of heavy metals. The wastewater used in the agricultural soils, also incorporates organic refractory compounds, which affect the microbial population and fertility. This chapter aimed to identify the chromium species present in agricultural soil irrigated with wastewater (679.6 mg/L for total chromium and 559.5 mg/L for Cr VI), and characterize the dissolved organic matter in the saturated solution soil. In the soil-saturated solutions (pH 6), the most stable Cr (III) species was Cr2O3. These species precipitate and accumulate in the soil in combination with natural organic matter. The highest accumulation of chromium occurred in the first 10 cm of the soil column. The 3D fluorescence analysis exposes the presence of aromatic proteins, microbiological degradation products, and humic and fulvic acids in the soil profile. The excitation-emission matrix (EEM) showed that Cr (VI) species were complexed with humic acids. In the X-ray diffraction analysis, the species Cr2O5, Cr5O12, CrO2, and Cr7C3 were found at depth with the greatest amount of organic matter

    Invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast (IMPC) is a histological tumor variant that occurs with low frequency characterized by an inside-out formation of tumor clusters with a pseudopapillary arrangement. IMPC is an aggressive tumor with poor clinical outcome. In addition, this histological subtype usually expresses human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) which also correlates with a more aggressive tumor. In this work we studied the clinical significance of IMPC in HER2-positive breast cancer patients treated with adjuvant trastuzumab.     p42/p44 MAPK-mediated Stat3 Ser727 phosphorylation is required for progestin-induced full activation of Stat3 and breast cancer growth

    Stat3 is a signaling node for multiple oncogenic pathways and is therefore frequently active in breast cancer. As experimental and clinical evidence reveals that progestins are key players in controlling mammary gland tumorigenesis, we studied Stat3 participation in this event. We have previously shown that progestins induce Stat3Tyr705 phosphorylation and its transcriptional activation in breast cancer cells. In this study, we demonstrate that progestins also induce Stat3 phosphorylation at Ser727 residue, which occurs via activation of c-Src/p42/p44 MAPK pathways in murine progestin-dependent C4HD cells and in T-47D cells. Expression of a Stat3S727A vector, which carries a serine-to-alanine substitution at codon 727, shows that Stat3Ser727 phosphorylation is required for full transcriptional activation of cyclin D1 gene expression by progestins and for in vivo Stat3 recruitment on cyclin D1 promoter. Transfection of Stat3S727A in murine and human breast cancer cells abolished progestin-induced in vitro and in vivo growth. Moreover, we found a positive correlation between progesterone receptor expression and nuclear localization of Stat3Ser727 phosphorylation in breast cancer biopsies. These data highlight Stat3 phosphorylation in Ser727 residue as a nongenomic action by progestins, necessary to promote breast cancer growth.Fil: Tkach, Mercedes.     Budget Impact analysis of venetoclax for management of acute myeloid leukemia from the perspective of the social security and the private sector in Argentina

    OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to estimate the budget impact of the incorporation of venetoclax for the treatment of patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) over 75 years of age or those with comorbidities and contraindications for the use of intensive chemotherapy, from the perspective of the social security and the private third-party payers in Argentina. METHODS: A budget impact model was adapted to estimate the cost difference between the current scenario (azacitidine, decitabine and low doses of cytarabine) and the new scenario (incorporation of venetoclax) for a third-party payer over a time horizon of three years. Input parameters were obtained from a literature review, validated or complemented by expert opinion using a modified Panel Delphi approach. All direct medical costs were estimated by the micro-costing approach and were expressed in US dollars (USD) as of September 2020 (1 USD = 76.18 Argentine pesos). RESULTS: For a third-party payer with a cohort of 1,000,000 individuals covered, incorporating venetoclax was associated with an average budget impact per-member per-month (PMPM) of 0.11USDforthesocialsecuritysectorand0.11 USD for the social security sector and 0.07 USD for the private sector. The duration of treatment with venetoclax was the most influential parameter in the budget impact results. CONCLUSION: The introduction of venetoclax was associated with a positive and slight budget impact. These findings are informative to support policy decisions aimed to expand the current treatment landscape of AML

    Identification of Leishmania Proteins Preferentially Released in Infected Cells Using Change Mediated Antigen Technology (CMAT)

    Although Leishmania parasites have been shown to modulate their host cell's responses to multiple stimuli, there is limited evidence that parasite molecules are released into infected cells. In this study, we present an implementation of the change mediated antigen technology (CMAT) to identify parasite molecules that are preferentially expressed in infected cells. Sera from mice immunized with cell lysates prepared from L. donovani or L. pifanoi-infected macrophages were adsorbed with lysates of axenically grown amastigotes of L. donovani or L. pifanoi, respectively, as well as uninfected macrophages. The sera were then used to screen inducible parasite expression libraries constructed with genomic DNA. Eleven clones from the L. pifanoi and the L. donovani screen were selected to evaluate the characteristics of the molecules identified by this approach. The CMAT screen identified genes whose homologs encode molecules with unknown function as well as genes that had previously been shown to be preferentially expressed in the amastigote form of the parasite. In addition a variant of Tryparedoxin peroxidase that is preferentially expressed within infected cells was identified. Antisera that were then raised to recombinant products of the clones were used to validate that the endogenous molecules are preferentially expressed in infected cells. Evaluation of the distribution of the endogenous molecules in infected cells showed that some of these molecules are secreted into parasitophorous vacuoles (PVs) and that they then traffic out of PVs in vesicles with distinct morphologies. This study is a proof of concept study that the CMAT approach can be applied to identify putative Leishmania parasite effectors molecules that are preferentially expressed in infected cells. In addition we provide evidence that Leishmania molecules traffic out of the PV into the host cell cytosol and nucleus

    Complement component C4 structural variation and quantitative traits contribute to sex-biased vulnerability in systemic sclerosis

    Altres ajuts: Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER), "A way of making Europe".Copy number (CN) polymorphisms of complement C4 play distinct roles in many conditions, including immune-mediated diseases. We investigated the association of C4 CN with systemic sclerosis (SSc) risk. Imputed total C4, C4A, C4B, and HERV-K CN were analyzed in 26,633 individuals and validated in an independent cohort. Our results showed that higher C4 CN confers protection to SSc, and deviations from CN parity of C4A and C4B augmented risk. The protection contributed per copy of C4A and C4B differed by sex. Stronger protection was afforded by C4A in men and by C4B in women. C4 CN correlated well with its gene expression and serum protein levels, and less C4 was detected for both in SSc patients. Conditioned analysis suggests that C4 genetics strongly contributes to the SSc association within the major histocompatibility complex locus and highlights classical alleles and amino acid variants of HLA-DRB1 and HLA-DPB1 as C4-independent signals
