    Let {\phi} be a Drinfeld A-module of characteristic p0 over a finitely generated field K. Previous articles determined the image of the absolute Galois group of K up to commensurability in its action on all prime-to-p0 torsion points of {\phi}, or equivalently, on the prime-to-p0 adelic Tate module of {\phi}. In this article we consider in addition a finitely generated torsion free A-submodule M of K for the action of A through {\phi}. We determine the image of the absolute Galois group of K up to commensurability in its action on the prime-to-p0 division hull of M, or equivalently, on the extended prime-to-p0 adelic Tate module associated to {\phi} and M

    Comparisons of global topographic/isostatic models to the Earth's observed gravity field

    The Earth's gravitational potential, as described by a spherical harmonic expansion to degree 180, was compared to the potential implied by the topography and its isostatic compensation using five different hypothesis. Initially, series expressions for the Airy/Heiskanen topographic isostatic model were developed to the third order in terms of (h/R), where h is equivalent rock topography and R is a mean Earth radius. Using actual topographic developments for the Earth, it was found that the second and third terms of the expansion contributed 30 and 3 percents, of the first of the expansion. With these new equations it is possible to compute depths (D) of compensation, by degree, using 3 different criteria. The results show that the average depth implied by criterion I is 60 km while it is about 33 km for criteria 2 and 3 with smaller compensation depths at the higher degrees. Another model examined was related to the Vening-Meinesz regional hypothesis implemented in the spectral domain. Finally, oceanic and continental response functions were derived for the global data sets and comparisons made to locally determined values

    Classification of the factorial functions of Eulerian binomial and Sheffer posets

    We give a complete classification of the factorial functions of Eulerian binomial posets. The factorial function B(n) either coincides with n!n!, the factorial function of the infinite Boolean algebra, or 2n−12^{n-1}, the factorial function of the infinite butterfly poset. We also classify the factorial functions for Eulerian Sheffer posets. An Eulerian Sheffer poset with binomial factorial function B(n)=n!B(n) = n! has Sheffer factorial function D(n) identical to that of the infinite Boolean algebra, the infinite Boolean algebra with two new coatoms inserted, or the infinite cubical poset. Moreover, we are able to classify the Sheffer factorial functions of Eulerian Sheffer posets with binomial factorial function B(n)=2n−1B(n) = 2^{n-1} as the doubling of an upside down tree with ranks 1 and 2 modified. When we impose the further condition that a given Eulerian binomial or Eulerian Sheffer poset is a lattice, this forces the poset to be the infinite Boolean algebra BXB_X or the infinite cubical lattice CX<∞C_X^{< \infty}. We also include several poset constructions that have the same factorial functions as the infinite cubical poset, demonstrating that classifying Eulerian Sheffer posets is a difficult problem.Comment: 23 pages.     Cereal grains constitute the major percentage of swine diets. Although they are used mainly as energy sources, these grains also supply a considerable amount of protein to the diet. With increased feed prices, much interest has been expressed in alternate ingredient sources in swine diets and combinations of ingredients that will be palatable and furnish the nutrients required. Starter diets for young weaned pigs are the most expensive diets because of the higher nutrient requirement at this stage of the life cycle. Therefore, this experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance of young weaned pigs fed different grains, alone and in combination, as the energy source in starter diets and to study the effect of lysine and protein levels of these diets on pig performance

    A randomized clinical trial to compare selective posterior rhizotomy plus physiotherapy with physiotherapy alone in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy

    A randomized controlled single-blind trial was performed to compare lumbo-sacral selective posterior rhizotomy (SPR) followed by intensive physiotherapy, with intensive physiotherapy alone in improving motor function in children with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Fifteen patients were randomly assigned to each treatment modality. Patients in the SPR group had rhizotomy within 1 month, followed by intensive outpatient physiotherapy for 9 months. Patients assigned to physiotherapy alone had identical intensive physiotherapy. There was a statistically significant and clinically important difference in improvement in motor function in favor of the SPR group, with a mean increase in total Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) score of 11.3% at 9 months for the SPR group compared with 5.2% for the physiotherapy-only group (P = 0.007). Significant improvements in spasticity (P \u3c 0.001) and range of movement (P \u3c 0.001) were noted in the SPR group compared to the physiotherapy-only group. The results indicate that the improvement in motor function after SPR is more than can be explained by the associated intensive physiotherapy
