Automatic detection of P, QRS and T patterns in 12 leads ECG signal based on CWT

    No full text
International audienceIn this paper, a new method based on the continuous wavelet transform is described in order to detect the QRS, P and T waves. QRS, P and T waves may be distinguished from noise, baseline drift or irregular heartbeats. The algorithm, described in this paper, has been evaluated using the Computers in Cardiology (CinC) Challenge 2011 database and also applied on the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database (MITDB). The data from the CinC Challenge 2011 are standard 12 ECG leads recordings with full diagnostic bandwidth compared to the MITDB which only includes two leads for each ECG signal. Firstly, our algorithm is validated using fifty 12 leads ECG samples from the CinC collection. The samples have been chosen in the "acceptable records" list given by Physionet. The detection and the duration delineation of the QRS, P and T waves given by our method are compared to expert physician results. The algorithm shows a sensitivity equal to 0.9987 for the QRS complex, 0.9917 for the T wave and 0.9906 for the P wave. The accuracy and the Youden index values show that the method is reliable for the QRS, T and P waves detection and delineation. Secondly, our algorithm is applied to the MITDB in order to compare the detection of QRS wave to results of other some works in the literature

Persistent enhancement of the carrier density in electron irradiated InAs nanowires

We report a significant and persistent enhancement of the conductivity in free-standing non intentionnaly doped InAs nanowires upon irradiation in ultra high vacuum. Combining four-point probe transport measurements performed on nanowires with different surface chemistries, field-effect based measurements and numerical simulations of the electron density, the change of the conductivity is found to be caused by the increase of the surface free carrier concentration. Although an electron beam of a few keV, typically used for the inspection and the processing of materials, propagates through the entire nanowire cross-section, we demonstrate that the nanowire electrical properties are predominantly affected by radiation-induced defects occuring at the nanowire surface and not in the bulk.Comment: 18 pages, 5 figure

The theme routes offer the opportunity to bring forward the local identity through many tourist activities along the way. Also, several studies suggest that these routes bring social and economic benefits to the communities. But the arrival of a highway may hinder these benefits by taking over the tourist travels, isolating the rural regions and contributing to the reduction of these benefits. Through a case study about the “Route des Navigateurs”, a themed route located in the Bas-Saint-Laurent tourism region and hindered by the arrival of the highway this study aims to reveal the importance of the “Route des Navigateurs”, to know the impact of highway 20 arrival and to define the challenges generated for this t route. The results show that the “Route des Navigateurs” centralized management by the ATR would limit the joining of various stakeholders. These people tend to bring forward the litorall of the Saint-Lawrence river instead of the “Route des Navigateurs” even though both are based on the presence of the Saint-Lawrence river. In regards to the highway extension, the current configuration of regional planning and the concentration of tourist activities have favoured the creation of primary tourist pole by the MRC. The highway extension accelerates an already initiated process. Finally, the municipalities bypassed by the highway, are noting the extinction of tourist services on the route 132 that were depending on transit customer base. Thereby, the municipalities must become a primary tourism pole to attract visitors

International audienceThis paper presents the identification of jet noise sources carried out at ONERA in the framework of the European Project JERONIMO. A dedicated test campaign was conducted in the anechoic wind tunnel CEPRA19 for a UHBR dual-stream nozzle with and without wing model installed. Arrays of microphone were implemented in order to apply advanced processing for noise source identification. The analysis focused on the wing installation effects. Correlated monopoles model was used in order to identify the different noise sources radiation occurring in installed jet configurations. The results projected in far field have been assessed with the farfield measurement. The acoustic localization processing applied to the numerical simulation demonstrates a good agreement with the experiments. Tonal jet-flap interaction noise is also highlighted, showing strong correlation between source at bypass exit and flap trailing edge.

Experimental Investigation of Spray Combustion Regimes in Aero-Engine Combustors

At ONERA Fauga-Mauzac center, a new air-breathing propulsion test setup, Prométhée-LACOM, has been recently developed. In this paper, both non-reacting and reacting two-phase flows were investigated. In reacting two-phase flow, simultaneous OH-PLIF and Mie scattering imaging were implemented in order to characterize the flame structure. The different behaviours observed in this study seem to support the existence of spray combustion regimes. Moreover, statistical analysis were performed on the spatial distribution of droplets and indicated that the centre-to-centre inter-droplet distance (nearest neighbour) could be described by means of a Log-Normal distribution

Scale Normalization for the Distance Maps AAM

International audienceThe Active Apearence Models (AAM) are often used in Man-Machine Interaction for their ability to align the faces. We propose a new normalization method for AAM based on distance map in order to strengthen their robustness to differences in illumination. Our normalization do not use the photometric normalization protocol classically used in AAM and is much more simpler to implement. Compared to Distance Map AAM performances of {Leg06} and other AAM implementation which use CLAHE {Zuiderveld94} normalization or gradient information, our proposition is at the same time much robust to illumination and AAM initialization. The tests have been drive in the context of generalization: 10 persons with frontal illumination from M2VTS database {m2vts} were considered to build the AAM, and 17 persons under 21 different illuminations from CMU database {Sim02} were used for the testing base

Objectives: To assess whether stress or mixed urinary incontinence (UI) is associated with deficits in executive functioning among community-dwelling women. Design: An observational study comparing the performance, using multivariate analyses of variance (MANOVAs) and Bonferroni post hoc test, of continent women and women with stress or mixed UI during executive control tasks. Setting: The research center of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal. Participants: One hundred and fifty-five community-dwelling women aged 60 and older participated in the study. Measurements: Based on the Urogenital Distress Inventory (UDI), participants were split into three groups: 35 continent women, 43 women with stress UI, and 78 women with mixed UI. Participants completed a battery of neuropsychological tests and a computerized dual-task test. Results: Women with mixed UI showed poorer performances than continent and stress UI women in executive control functions. Deficits were specific to tests involving switching and sharing/dividing attention between two tasks. Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that mixed UI can be associated with executive control deficits in community-dwelling older women. Future intervention studies in the treatment of UI should take the higher risk of an executive control deficit in women with UI under consideration
