Estudio biogeográfico del Parque Natural das Serras D’Aire e Candeeiros (PNSAC)

This work seeks to be a contribution for the knowledge he gives the Portuguese natural spaces and mainly to give to know the localized Iberian natural space inside the Calcareous Hill group Portuguese Estremenho, the PARQUE NATURAL DAS SERRAS DE AIRE E CANDEEIROS. It is a typical Mediterranean landscape. This park understands the Serra d’Aire, the Serra dos Candeeiros, the Plateau he gives San Antonio and it leaves he gives the Plateau he gives San Mamede. The election gives this small and interesting space he is due to its peculiar characteristics, geomorfológics, ecological, corológics and biogeográfics (vegetation and fauna). On one hand to be one he gives the places where are represented most he gives the calcareous typical phenomena that have been used as tourist resources in some cases (the grottos); for other, with the peculiarity he gives to be one he gives the main places he gives nest he gives the rook he gives red pick, besides being located numerous rapacious birds and other animals.Este trabajo es una contribución al conocimiento de los espacios naturales portugueses. En él se da a conocer el espacio natural ibérico «PARQUE NATURAL DAS SERRAS DE AIRE E CANDEEIROS» localizado en el Macizo Calcáreo Extremeño Portugués. Es un típico paisaje mediterráneo que comprende las Sierras de Aire, de Candeeiros, la Meseta de San Antonio y parte de la Meseta de San Mamede. La elección de este pequeño e interesante espacio se debe, en primer lugar, a sus características peculiares, geomorfológicas, ecológicas, corológicas y biogeográficas (vegetación y fauna); en segundo lugar, por ser uno de los lugares en donde están representados la mayor parte de los fenómenos típicos calcáreos que en algunos casos han sido utilizados como recursos turísticos (por ejemplo las grutas); en tercer lugar, por ser uno de los principales lugares de nidificación del grajo de pico rojo (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax), y por último, por su ricos ecosistemas naturales, y/o antrópicos

Current state of the Prunetalia spinosae communities in the centre and south of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain, Portugal)

This paper re-examines the Rhamno-Prunetea class in the centre and south of the Iberian Peninsula, especially in Andalusia. The paper also deals with the alliances Pruno-Rubion ulmifolii Lonicero-Berberidion hispanicae in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, and Berberidion vulgaris (Berberidenion seroi) in the area of Cuenca. Our analysis of 225 relevés arranged in 22 phytosociological tables helped us to re-organize the available information and subsequently propose three associations and two subassociations: Clematido vitalbae-Rosetum micranthae nova; Berberido hispanicae- Buxetum sempervirentis nova; Roso siculae-Berberidetum hispanicae Mota nova subas. prunetosum ramburii Mota nova; Lonicero arboreae-Rhamnetum cathartici Martínez-Parras and Molero 1983 subas. prunetosum ranburii nova. As a result of the study, a total of 18 syntaxa with the rank of association and four with the rank of subassociation are proposed for the south of the Iberian Peninsula

Modelling of n-stage Blumlein stacked lines for bipolar pulse generation

A Blumlein line is a particular Pulse Forming Line, PFL, configuration that allows the generation of high-voltage sub-microsecond square pulses, with the same voltage amplitude as the dc charging voltage, into a matching load. By stacking n Blumlein lines one can multiply in theory by n the input dc voltage charging amplitude. In order to understand the operating behavior of this electromagnetic system and to further optimize its operation it is fundamental to theoretically model it, that is to calculate the voltage amplitudes at each circuit point and the time instant that happens. In order to do this, one needs to define the reflection and transmission coefficients where impedance discontinuity occurs. The experimental results of a fast solid-state switch, which discharges a three stage Blumlein stack, will be compared with theoretical ones

Systematic literature review of interpretative positions and potential sources of resistance to change in organizations

Purpose: This article addresses the main concerns of existing literature about resistance to change (RC) in organizations, namely the limited interpretative position regarding RC focusing mainly on negative aspects and excluding potential benefits, and the poor consensus or even understanding of RC sources in organizations. Design/methodology/approach: To approach our goal, a systematic literature review will be carried out. The initial sample, obtained using reproducible search algorithms on Scopus and Web of Science, comprises 65 papers. After applying five inclusion/exclusion criteria supported by previous systematic reviews, the final sample consists of 30 papers. Findings: This article demonstrates the prevalence of a negative position toward RC and reveals efforts to harness the potential benefits of RC. In addition, from 126 specific RC sources extracted from the analyzed papers, it discovers and discusses 22 sub-typologies of RC sources, which are grouped into five typologies. Practical implications: The paper enables the future identification of, evaluation of, and intervention in 22 potential RC sources in organizations distinguished into five typologies. The taxonomy also enables researchers to organize and summarize study topics/subtopics regarding RC in the organizational arena. Social implications: This paper draws attention to the need to recognize the meaning and implications of three alternative positions relating to RC in organizations (positive, negative, and neutral). Originality/value: The paper provides a comprehensive taxonomy of RC sources beyond the traditional classification of individual/organizational factors

Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and breast cancer risk: analysis by subtype and potential interactions

Multiple studies have found the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) to be associated with adverse breast cancer (BC) prognosis and survival. Very limited data exist on the role of NLR and risk of BC. The BREOGAN study is a population-based case-control study conducted in Galicia, Spain. We examined the WBC- and NLR-BC relationships. The risk of BC increased with increasing levels of neutrophils percentage (NE%) (multivariable OR for the highest category (95% CI) = 2.14 (1.39-3.32), P-trend < 0.001) and of the NLR (multivariable OR for the highest category (95% CI) = 1.93 (1.26-2.97), P-trend < 0.001). Lymphocytes absolute (L#) and percentage (L%) were associated with a decreased risk of BC (multivariable OR for the highest category (95% CI) = 0.54 (0.35-0.83), and 0.51 (0.33-0.79), P-trend = 0.001 and < 0.001, respectively). The NLR-BC association was more pronounced among Luminal A BC (multivariable OR for the highest category (95% CI) = 2.00 (1.17-3.45), P-trend < 0.001), HER2-negative BC (multivariable OR for the highest category (95% CI) = 1.87 (1.16-3.02), P-trend < 0.001), and those with high total cholesterol and low H2O2 levels

Después de dos años consecutivos de trabajo, buscamos entender nuestros procesos creativos en un contexto universitario de producción de conocimientos.
