    [ES] El presente documento es un Programa de Educación Afectivo-Sexual destinado al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el tercer ciclo de Educación Primaria. Se trata de un manual dirigido al educador, el cual sirve como guía para desarrollar sesiones a su gusto y conveniencia, pudiéndose enfocar de dos formas dependiendo del tiempo: de una manera completa llevándose a cabo durante todo un curso, o bien, impartiendo aquellos apartados que el educador considere convenientes. Para ello, se han establecido dos tipos de objetivos: unos asignados al docente con el propósito de que éste los lleve a cabo, y así desarrollar de una manera efectiva y positiva el proyecto; y otros objetivos destinados a que los alumnos adquieran ciertas competencias y conocimientos mediante el programa. Asimismo, este manual cuenta con un amplia teoría que engloba todos los contenidos importantes e imprescindibles relacionados con la Educación Afectivo-Sexual y, además, con un amplio abanico de actividades a partir de las cuales se pueden trabajar y reforzar todos y cada uno de los contenidos. Todo ello enfocado desde una metodología adecuada para que el aprendizaje sea óptimo y finalizado con una evaluación, que servirá tanto para conocer el progreso y avance de los alumnos, como para poder realizar ajustes en el proceso y mejorar el programa

    Analysis of the Satisfaction Degree of Students at Spain’s Physiotherapy Universities in Relation to Online Teaching during the COVID-19 Pandemic

    Student satisfaction is a crucial aspect in the quality assessment of higher education. The aim of the present study was to assess the degree of satisfaction among students in the Faculties of physiotherapy throughout Spain concerning online teaching during the State of Emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional observational design. The online questionnaire DISFISCOVID was distributed to 24 physiotherapy faculties across Spain. A sample of 348 physiotherapy students from 14 Spanish universities completed the questionnaire. It showed high reliability evidence, achieving Cronbach’s alpha indices higher than 0.870, alongside a McDonald’s ωH of 0.876. On the whole, students were not satisfied with online learning during the State of Emergency, considering it unsuitable for their learning in either the theoretical or practical field of subjects in the degree of physiotherapy. In conclusion, the perception of physiotherapy students concerning the teaching they received, as far as practical contents and assessment methods are concerned, was not very satisfactory in those Faculties in which online learning platforms were not being used beforehand, and was more satisfactory when teaching was carried out in-person in the classroom

    Kinetic Resolution in Transannular Morita-Baylis-Hillman Reaction: An Approximation to the Synthesis of Sesquiterpenes from Guaiane Family

    An approximation to the synthesis of several sesquiterpenes from the Guaiane family is described in which the core structure was obtained through a transannular Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction performed under kinetic resolution.     A combined approach of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and multivariate analysis as a potential tool for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus in nasopharyngeal swabs

    Coronavirus disease 2019, known as COVID-19, is caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The early, sensitive and specific detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus is widely recognized as the critical point in responding to the ongoing outbreak. Currently, the diagnosis is based on molecular real time RT-PCR techniques, although their implementation is being threatened due to the extraordinary demand for supplies worldwide. That is why the development of alternative and / or complementary tests becomes so relevant. Here, we exploit the potential of mass spectrometry technology combined with machine learning algorithms, for the detection of COVID-19 positive and negative protein profiles directly from nasopharyngeal swabs samples. According to the preliminary results obtained, accuracy =67.66 %, sensitivity =61.76 %, specificity =71.72 %, and although these parameters still need to be improved to be used as a screening technique, mass spectrometry- based methods coupled with multivariate analysis showed that it is an interesting tool that deserves to be explored as a complementary diagnostic approach due to the low cost and fast performance. However, further steps, such as the analysis of a large number of samples, should be taken in consideration to determine the applicability of the method developed.Fil: Rocca, María Florencia.     Analysis of variants in the HCN4 gene and in three single nucleotide polymorphisms of the CYP3A4 gene for association with ivabradine reduction in heart rate: a preliminary report

    [Abstract] Background: Ivabradine, a selective bradycardic drug, inhibits the If. In patients with heart failure (HF), ivabradine reduces the risk of rehospitalization and mortality. The average heart rate (HR) reduction is 8–10 beats, although clinical trials reveal interindividual variability. The aim of the study is to identify variants associated with HR reduction produced by ivabradine in genes involved in the drug metabolism (CYP3A4) or related to the drug target (HCN4). Methods: In an exploratory cohort (n = 11), patients started on ivabradine were genotyped and the HR reduction was studied. Results: The mean HR reduction after the treatment was 18.10 ± 12.26 bpm. The HR reduction was ≥ 15 bpm in 3 patients and > 5 and < 15 bpm in 7 patients. Four synonymous variants, L12L, L520L, P852P, and P1200P, were detected in the HCN4 gene (frequency = 0.045, 0.045, and 0.681, respectively). Moreover, the CYP3A4*1F and CYP3A4*1B were found in one patient each and CYP3A4*1G was presented in 3 patients. Conclusions: This is the first study using an exploratory pharmacogenetic approach that attempts to explain interindividual variability in ivabradine HR reduction.     The senescence-accelerated mouse (SAM-P8) as a model for the study of vascular functional alterations during aging

    We studied vascular function in quiescent aortas from senescence- accelerated resistant (SAM-R1) and prone (SAM-P8) mice. Myographical studies of thoracic aorta segments from 6-7 month-old mice showed that the contractility of SAM-P8 aortas was markedly higher than that of SAM-R1 after KCl depolarization or phenylephrine addition. Acetylcholine dose-response relaxation curves revealed that SAM-R1 vessels were slightly more sensitive than those of SAM-P8. In the presence of the NO synthase inhibitor, L-NAME, all vessels displayed contractions to acetylcholine, but these were more distinct in the SAM-R1. Phenylephrine plus L-NAME displayed stronger contractions in both animal strains, but were markedly more pronounced in SAM-R1. The cyclooxygenase inhibitor, indomethacin did not change the vessel responses to acetylcholine or phenylephrine. These data indicate that NO synthase, not cyclooxygenase, was responsible for the differences in contractility. Standard histology and immunohistochemistry of endothelial NO synthase revealed no differences in the expression of this protein. In contrast, increased levels of malondialdehyde were found in SAM-P8 vessels. We conclude that SAM-P8 vessels exhibit higher contractility than those of SAM-R1. Furthermore, our results suggest that the endothelium of SAM-P8 vessels is dysfunctional and lacks normal capability to counteract smooth muscle contraction.     Mixed-method tutoring support improves learning outcomes of veterinary students in basic subjects

    P. 1-10Tutoring is a useful tool in the university teaching-learning binomial, although its development is impaired in large classes. Recent improvements in information and communication technologies have made tutoring possible via the Internet. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of mixed-method academic tutoring in two basic subjects in Veterinary Science studies at the University of León (Spain) to optimize the usefulness of tutoring support in the college environment. This quasi-experimental study was firstly carried out as a pilot study in a small group of tutored students of “Cytology and Histology” (CH) (47/186; 25.3%) and “Veterinary Pharmacology” (VP) (33/141; 23.4%) subjects, and was implemented in a large class of CH the next academic year (150 students) while comparing the results with those obtained in a previous tutorless course (162 students). Tutored students were given access to online questionnaires with electronic feedback on each subject. In addition to traditional tutoring carried out in both tutored and tutorless students, the pilot study included three sessions of face-to-face tutoring in order to monitor the progress of students. Its efficacy was assessed by monitoring students’ examination scores and attendance as well as a satisfaction survey. Online tutoring support, together with conventional teaching methods, may be a useful method to incorporate student-centered learning in basic subjects in Veterinary Science.S
