Data acquisition for measuring the wind on Venus from Pioneer Venus
The data acquisition and processing technqiues used in the Pioneer Venus differential long baseline interferometry experiment are discribed. The experiment was designed to measure the motion in three dimensions of the Pioneer probes during their fall to the surface of Venus, using a combination of Doppler and long baseline ratio interferometric methods. The design of the experiment and the equipment and software techniques that were developed specially for this experiment are also described
Irreducible complexity of iterated symmetric bimodal maps
We introduce a tree structure for the iterates of symmetric bimodal maps and
identify a subset which we prove to be isomorphic to the family of unimodal
maps. This subset is used as a second factor for a -product that we
define in the space of bimodal kneading sequences. Finally, we give some
properties for this product and study the *-product induced on the associated

Connection between electrical conductivity and diffusion coefficient of a conductive porous material filled with electrolyte
The paper focuses on the cross-property connection between the effective electrical conductivity and the overall mass transfer coefficient of a two phase material. The two properties are expressed in terms of the tortuosity parameter which generalized to the case of a material with two conductive phases. Elimination of this parameter yields the cross-property connection. The theoretical derivation is verified by comparison with computer simulation
meson in dense matter
We study the properties of mesons in nuclear matter using a
unitary approach in coupled channels within the framework of the local hidden
gauge formalism and incorporating the decay channel in matter. The
in-medium interaction accounts for Pauli blocking effects and
incorporates the self-energy in a self-consistent manner. We also
obtain the (off-shell) spectral function and analyze its behaviour
at finite density and momentum. At normal nuclear matter density, the meson feels a moderately attractive potential while the width
becomes five times larger than in free space. We estimate the transparency
ratio of the reaction, which we propose as
a feasible scenario at present facilities to detect the changes of the
