The dynamical structure factor of nano plasmas in strongly excited clusters was investigated via classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. It was generalized via introduction of the bilocal current density correlation function for clusters of different sizes. Several excitation modes were found and characterized, solving an eigenvalue problem and their dispersion with dependence on temperature, density and cluster size was discussed. The generalization of the dynamical structure factor concept going from bulk to finite plasmas was shown
Introduction: Infection with Human Papillomavirus is mandatory for cervical cancer development. However, viral elimination is associated to multiple factors, according to the population characteristics and geographic areas, some are modifiable and others not. Objective: To determine the factors associated with the prevalence of high risk human papillomavirus infection in women between 35-65 years old with moderate or high risk of cervical cancer located at the northern zone of Bucaramanga Methodology: Cross-sectional analytical study. Women classified as moderate/ high risk for cervical cancer in a short standardized survey, were surveyed on the side effects associated to chronic viral infection and self-sampling cervical test. Bivariate analysis and multiple analysis of log-binomial regression were performed. Results: 810 women were interviewed; 435 cases of high cancer risk were presented. The prevalence of high risk human papilloma virus infection was 5.1% (95% CI 3.2-7.6). The sedentary lifestyle (RPa 2.51, 95% CI 1.15-5.50) and overweight/obesity (PRa 4.20, 95% CI 1.00-15.51) were associated with higher prevalence. In addition, there was a trend of increased prevalence of infection among users of injectable contraceptives; as well as a tendency to decrease this prevalence according to portions of fruits and vegetables consumed daily. Conclusion: modifiable factors such as sedentary lifestyle and overweight / obesity were independently associated with a higher prevalence of infection by human high risk papilloma virus in the population studied.
Spatially resolved collective excitations of nano-plasmas via molecular dynamics simulations and fluid dynamics
Collective excitations in nano-plasmas are described by dynamical bi-local auto-correlation functions. These excitations, which are related to the plasmon excitations in bulk plasmas, arise in the classical as well as the quantum regime. Instead of the wave-vector-dependent dynamical structure factor, which is not well defined in finite systems, two different signatures are considered to characterize collective excitations: the bi-local particle density correlation function and the bi-local current density correlation function. The relation between both signatures is not as trivial as in the homogeneous case and is given here. Exemplary calculations are performed for expanding nearly spherical clusters of sodium atoms after excitation by a high-intensity short pulse laser beam. The lowest collective excitations obtained in the classical regime using molecular dynamics simulations agree well with the lowest collective excitations obtained from quantum calculations using fluid dynamics. The energy, damping and structure of the lowest collective modes are given. The dynamical bi-local correlation functions are of relevance for the optical properties, in particular the determination of photo absorption coefficients of nano-plasmas
Burnout Syndrome among General Hospital Nurses in Recife
This descriptive, cross sectional, census study identified the occurrence of Burnout and some associated factors among nurses working in obstetrics & gynecology and pediatric care at a general tertiary hospital in Recife. Sixty-three nurses (98.4%) answered a self-administered questionnaire (sociodemographic aspects, working conditions, and Maslach Burnout Inventory). Chi-square was used in the analysis with a 95% confidence level. Most participants were female (92.1%), with up to five years in the career (68.2%), 52.5% in pediatric area. High levels of emotional stress (49.2%) and depersonalization (27.0%) were identified, as well as low professional fulfillment (4.8%), and 4.7% presented Burnout. The following factors wee associated: high levels of emotional stress and often/always perform tasks very quickly (p=0.039) and receiving a salary incompatible to the effort employed (p=0.016); high levels of depersonalization and with up to five years in this career (p=0.010) and often/always perform tasks very quickly (p=0.009). For 19.0%, at least two of the three dimensions pointed to high propensity to the syndrome. Synthesis and Characterization of Hybrid Materials Consisting of n-octadecyltriethoxysilane by Using n-Hexadecylamine as Surfactant and Q0 and T0 Cross-Linkers
Novel hybrid xerogel materials were synthesized by a sol-gel procedure. n-octadecyltriethoxysilane was co-condensed with and without different cross-linkers using Q0 and T0 mono-functionalized organosilanes in the presence of n-hexadecylamine with different hydroxyl silica functional groups at the surface. These polymer networks have shown new properties, for example, a high degree of cross-linking and hydrolysis. Two different synthesis steps were carried out: simple self-assembly followed by sol-gel transition and precipitation of homogenous sols. Due to the lack of solubility of these materials, the compositions of the new materials were determined by infrared spectroscopy, 13C and 29Si CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy
The Orchestration Stack: The Impossible Task of Designing Software for Unknown Future Post-CMOS Hardware
Future systems based on post-CMOS technologies will be wildly heterogeneous, with properties largely unknown today.
This paper presents our design of a new hardware/software stack to address the challenge of preparing software development for such systems. It combines well-understood technologies from different areas, e.g., network-on-chips, capability operating systems, flexible programming models and model checking. We describe our approach and provide details on key technologies
