Symptoms of autism, in general, are usually detected at the age of children who have not reached three years old, with varying levels in each child, ranging from mild to severe symptoms. These symptoms include constant difficulty in socializing, communicating and interacting with others verbally, difficulty in using and understanding language, and inability in using body language to convey meaning. Therefore, even though they have reached the age when speech development should occur, the children are unable to establish conversations or interactions with other people. Children with autism tend to repeat words or phrases spoken by others without forming their speech style and not developing their language skills. The objectives to be achieved in this study were to describe the language development problems of autistic children who were currently under psychoanalytic treatment at Kendari Autism Service Center and the factors that influenced them. The research findings showed that the language development abilities of autistic children in the phonological form in obtaining vowel sounds and diphthongs were good. However, they were still lacking in obtaining consonants. More practice was needed so that they could pronounce perfect phonemes. Meanwhile, autistic children in Kendari's autistic service could master nouns with more numbers than verbal and adjectives in lexicon skills. However, the phonological process that occurred in autistic children was very slow. This happened because they were sometimes like deaf people who could not hear what people were talking about. If called, they did not want to turn around. They also did not focus on interacting with other people. For example, he would answer if he was being spoken to, but his gaze was not on the person spoken to. Almost more than half of autistic children were unable to speak well. Their speech proned to be echolalia, literal, lack rhythm, lack vowels in the word produced, replacing or removing consonants contained in a word

This research paper mainly discusses Soeharto and his “Work Ethic” value system. It focuses on the role of local wisdom as a fundamen-tal value that has moulded leadership character and style of Soeharto in Indonesia. A term during his leadership tenure was used by Soeharto to identify, list and explain the source of the dominant local wisdom. Content analysis was used as the method of analysis in to explain a series of “End of the Year Speech”, “Nationhood Speech” and “Party Speech”. Initial analysis on the speech texts showed that emphasis on values was given at every serie of the speeches delivered. Next, quotations of every paragraph in the speech texts were scru-tinized for groupings of dimensions (Value Dimensions) specifically referring to Asian Values. The paragraphs of every text were recited for the final time in order to identify Derived Values originated from each of the Value Dimensions. Recordings of data were carried out by using Archive for Technology, the Life World and Everyday Language. Text Interpretation (ATLAS).ti version 7 software. It was discovered that Soeharto used his “Nationhood Speech” serie as his main medium to deliver values to his people. Value Dimension “Work Ethics” was identified as the second most important value in his delivery of messages on development. Meanwhile, Derived Val-ues “Strong/Kind/Dilligent/Viable/Earnest” were values that frequently appeared in the dimension. At the end of this paper, an explana-tion on the application of these values in the leadership and development under Soeharto is obtained. In conclusion, a leader who manip-ulated local wisdom is capable of achieving development that is more pragmatic and effective. Reinvigorating the local wisdom is a sig-nificant factor that can catalyze a continuous development specifically in Indonesia and generally in the South East Asia

Organization support for cloud computing implementation success in education system: scale development and validity in Delphi

    Get PDF
Cloud computing (CC) support for learning systems has been viewed as one of the most discussed issues that promise to modernize computing by providing visualized resources as a service over the internet. To be stable in cloud computing acquisition requires an education institution to address many of the same concerns they face in implementing an Information System (IS) service. Currently, there is still lack of CC implementation standard and organizational support that impacted VLE system performance. Previous research has reported that the influence of the CC implementation decision depends on the impact of various factors studied. Nonetheless, organizational support is the least factor mentioned especially studies from Malaysia. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to develop a validated scale of organizational support in implementation decision activities towards CC implementation success. In this paper, the Delphi process adopted to measure consensus among nominal group technique (also known as the expert panel). Key methodological issues in using the methods are discussed, along with the distinct contribution of consensus methods as aids to decision making in education service development. The study has adapted stages of proses flow of scale development and validation of measurement items according to legitimate measures in the Delphi technique. The measurement scales formed are based on literature review and field studies conducted to increase the reliability and validity values. Organizational support constructs were divided into top management support, firm size, awareness, Technology Readiness and cost effectiveness. A total of 5 items have been successfully set up for further validatio

In this paper, an understanding and a review of data mining (DM) development and its applications in logistics and specifically transportation are highlighted. Even though data mining has been successful in becoming a major component of various business processes and applications, the benefits and real-world expectations are very important to consider. It is also surprising to note that very little is known to date about the usefulness of applying data mining in transport related research. From the literature, the frameworks for carrying out knowledge discovery and data mining have been revised over the years to meet the business expectations. In this paper, we apply CRISP-DM for formulating effective tire maintenance strategy within the context of a Malaysian’s logistics company. The results of applying CRISP-DM for tire maintenance decisions are presented and discussed

    Get PDF
The study investigated the correlates of human development among National Religious Secondary School students in Malaysia, consistent with the Erikson (1968) epigenesis of identity approach and the Chickering (1972) vectors of adolescent development. The research design incorporated a regression analysis model with human development as the dependent variable with eight predictors, i.e. the family, the school environment, sense of purpose, self, society, academic, co-curriculum,and the hostel environment. The regression value was significant, F(8, 1099) = 18.475, P < .05, with R2 of .119 indicating that the eight predictors explained an influence of 11.9% towards human development. The contribution was moderate. Generally, the respondents were aware of their sense of purpose with regards to what they intended to achieve. Moreover, the National Religious Secondary School students have moved towards self autonomy in relation to an awareness of human development

    Get PDF
A greenhouse trial was carried out with the aim of assessing the Se concentration and Se uptake in different plant parts especially in rice grains and also the effect of Selenium on rice plant yield and some yield components. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Three rice varieties (MR232, MR219 and MR253) and five rates of sodium selenite (Na2SeO3) including 0, 100, 300, 500 and 700 g ha-1 were selected. It was observed that leaf, culm and the grain of rice varieties as well as total Se uptake and grain uptake were affected by used Se rates. All the Se levels used in this study have been able to increase Se level in rice grains to be acceptable for human consumption but among the different Se levels supplied, the level of 500 g ha-1 of Se is recommended rate in order to increase Se concentration in grain. Plant dry matter yield, grain yield and yield components were not affected by the different supplied Se concentrations
