Superluminal Localized Solutions to Maxwell Equations propagating along a waveguide: The finite-energy case
In a previous paper of ours [Phys. Rev. E64 (2001) 066603, e-print
physics/0001039] we have shown localized (non-evanescent) solutions to Maxwell
equations to exist, which propagate without distortion with Superluminal speed
along normal-sized waveguides, and consist in trains of "X-shaped" beams. Those
solutions possessed therefore infinite energy. In this note we show how to
obtain, by contrast, finite-energy solutions, with the same localization and
Superluminality properties. [PACS nos.: 41.20.Jb; 03.50.De; 03.30.+p; 84.40.Az;

Peas are cultivated in the central region of Brazil, during the dry winter, demanding for the complete success the use of irrigation. Therefore, the present work has the aim of evaluating soil water potential effects on the indexes of physiological growth analysis of peas (Pisum sativum L.). The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse using soils of clayey texture, in a fully randomized design, with four treatments, based on minimum soil water potentials (-33, -100, -200 and -1500 kPa) in three replicates, each one containing two pea plants Caprice cultivar. The results obtained indicate that the reduction of soil water potential induced the decrease of leaf area, but did not interfer on the behaviour of leaf weight ratio, leaf area ratio, net assimilation rate and relative growth rate.
Mayaro Fever Virus, Brazilian Amazon
In February 2008, a Mayaro fever virus (MAYV) outbreak occurred in a settlement in Santa Barbara municipality, northern Brazil. Patients had rash, fever, and severe arthralgia lasting up to 7 days. Immunoglobulin M against MAYV was detected by ELISA in 36 persons; 3 MAYV isolates sequenced were characterized as genotype D
Conformal linear gravity in de Sitter space II
From the group theoretical point of view, it is proved that the theory of
linear conformal gravity should be written in terms of a tensor field of rank-3
and mixed symmetry [Binegar, et al, Phys. Rev. D 27, (1983) 2249]. We obtained
such a field equation in de Sitter space [Takook, et al, J. Math. Phys. 51,
(2010) 032503]. In this paper, a proper solution to this equation is obtained
as a product of a generalized polarization tensor and a massless scalar field
and then the conformally invariant two-point function is calculated. This
two-point function is de Sitter invariant and free of any pathological
large-distance behavior.Comment: 16 pages, no figure, published versio
