Prospects for early discoveries at the LHC with dileptons, jets and no missing energy with the ATLAS detector
This article describes the search for leptoquark pair production and for the decay of a right-handed in the cascade decay in final states containing two leptons, additional jets and no missing transverse energy. Both final states with two electrons and two muons are studied. With a center of mass energy of TeV leptoquarks up to 500-600 GeV and the studied scenarios of left-right symmetric models (LRSM) can be discovered with about $100 pb^{-1}

We report on studies of the potential of searches at LHC for Physics beyond the Standard Model
Supersymmetric virtual effects in heavy quark pair production at LHC
We consider the production of heavy () quark pairs at proton colliders
in the theoretical framework of the MSSM. Under the assumption of a
"moderately" light SUSY scenario, we first compute the leading logarithmic MSSM
contributions at one loop for the elementary processes of production from a
quark and from a gluon pair in the 1 TeV c.m. energy region. We show that in
the initial gluon pair case (dominant in the chosen situation at LHC energies)
the electroweak and the strong SUSY contributions concur to produce an enhanced
effect whose relative value in the cross sections could reach the twenty
percent size for large values in the realistic proton-proton LHC

Review of the Properties of the W Boson at LEP, and the Precision Determination of its Mass
We review the precision measurement of the mass and couplings of the W Boson
at LEP. The total and differential W+W- cross section is used to extract the
WWZ and WWgamma couplings. We discuss the techniques used by the four LEP
experiments to determine the W mass in different decay channels, and present
the details of methods used to evaluate the sources of systematic uncertainty.Comment: 97 page
Determination of alpha_s using Jet Rates at LEP with the OPAL detector
Hadronic events produced in e+e- collisions by the LEP collider and recorded
by the OPAL detector were used to form distributions based on the number of
reconstructed jets. The data were collected between 1995 and 2000 and
correspond to energies of 91 GeV, 130-136 GeV and 161-209 GeV. The jet rates
were determined using four different jet-finding algorithms (Cone, JADE, Durham
and Cambridge). The differential two-jet rate and the average jet rate with the
Durham and Cambridge algorithms were used to measure alpha(s) in the LEP energy
range by fitting an expression in which order alpah_2s calculations were
matched to a NLLA prediction and fitted to the data. Combining the measurements
at different centre-of-mass energies, the value of alpha_s (Mz) was determined
to be
alpha(s)(Mz)=0.1177+-0.0006(stat.)+-0.0012$(expt.)+-0.0010(had.)+-0.0032(theo.)

Bose-Einstein Correlations of Three Charged Pions in Hadronic Z^0 Decays
Bose-Einstein Correlations (BEC) of three identical charged pions were
studied in 4 x 10^6 hadronic Z^0 decays recorded with the OPAL detector at LEP.
The genuine three-pion correlations, corrected for the Coulomb effect, were
separated from the known two-pion correlations by a new subtraction procedure.
A significant genuine three-pion BEC enhancement near threshold was observed
having an emitter source radius of r_3 = 0.580 +/- 0.004 (stat.) +/- 0.029
(syst.) fm and a strength of \lambda_3 = 0.504 +/- 0.010 (stat.) +/- 0.041
(syst.). The Coulomb correction was found to increase the \lambda_3 value by
\~9% and to reduce r_3 by ~6%. The measured \lambda_3 corresponds to a value of
0.707 +/- 0.014 (stat.) +/- 0.078 (syst.) when one takes into account the
three-pion sample purity. A relation between the two-pion and the three-pion

Search for Chargino-Neutralino Associated Production at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider
We have searched in collisions at = 1.8 TeV for events
with three charged leptons and missing transverse energy. In the Minimal
Supersymmetric Standard Model, we expect trilepton events from
chargino-neutralino (\chione \chitwo) pair production, with subsequent decay
into leptons. We observe no candidate , ,
or events in 106 pb integrated
luminosity. We present limits on the sum of the branching ratios times cross
section for the four channels: \sigma_{\chione\chitwo}\cdot
BR(\chione\chitwo\to 3\ell+X) 81.5 \mgev\sp and
M_\chitwo > 82.2 \mgev\sp for , ~\mgev\sp and
M_\squark= M_\gluino.Comment: 9 pages and 3 figure
Measurement of the lepton charge asymmetry in W-boson decays produced in p-pbar collisions
We describe a measurement of the charge asymmetry of leptons from W boson
decays in the rapidity range 0 enu, munu events from
110+/-7 pb^{-1}of data collected by the CDF detector during 1992-95. The
asymmetry data constrain the ratio of d and u quark momentum distributions in
the proton over the x range of 0.006 to 0.34 at Q2 \approx M_W^2. The asymmetry
predictions that use parton distribution functions obtained from previously
published CDF data in the central rapidity region (0.0<|y_l|<1.1) do not agree
with the new data in the large rapidity region (|y_l|>1.1).Comment: 13 pages, 3 tables, 1 figur
Search for scalar leptoquarks and T-odd quarks in the acoplanar jet topology using 2.5 fb-1 of ppbar collision data at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV
A search for new physics in the acoplanar jet topology has been performed in
2.5 fb-1 of data from ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, recorded by the D0
detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The numbers of events with exactly
two acoplanar jets and missing transverse energy are in good agreement with the
standard model expectations. The result of this search has been used to set a
lower mass limit of 205 GeV at the 95% C.L. on the mass of a scalar leptoquark
when this particle decays exclusively into a quark and a neutrino. In the
framework of the Little Higgs model with T-parity, limits have also been
obtained on the T-odd quark mass as a function of the T-odd photon mass
Measurement of Semileptonic Branching Fractions of B Mesons to Narrow D** States
Using the data accumulated in 2002-2004 with the DO detector in
proton-antiproton collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron collider with
centre-of-mass energy 1.96 TeV, the branching fractions of the decays B ->
\bar{D}_1^0(2420) \mu^+ \nu_\mu X and B -> \bar{D}_2^{*0}(2460) \mu^+ \nu_\mu X
and their ratio have been measured: BR(\bar{b}->B) \cdot BR(B-> \bar{D}_1^0
\mu^+ \nu_\mu X) \cdot BR(\bar{D}_1^0 -> D*- pi+) =
(0.087+-0.007(stat)+-0.014(syst))%; BR(\bar{b}->B)\cdot BR(B->D_2^{*0} \mu^+
\nu_\mu X) \cdot BR(\bar{D}_2^{*0} -> D*- \pi^+) =
(0.035+-0.007(stat)+-0.008(syst))%; and (BR(B -> \bar{D}_2^{*0} \mu^+ \nu_\mu
X)BR(D2*0->D*- pi+)) / (BR(B -> \bar{D}_1^{0} \mu^+ \nu_\mu X)\cdot
BR(\bar{D}_1^{0}->D*- \pi^+)) = 0.39+-0.09(stat)+-0.12(syst), where the charge
