Lattice calculations on the spectrum of Dirac and Dirac-K\"ahler operators
We present a matrix technique to obtain the spectrum and the analytical index
of some elliptic operators defined on compact Riemannian manifolds. The method
uses matrix representations of the derivative which yield exact values for the
derivative of a trigonometric polynomial. These matrices can be used to find
the exact spectrum of an elliptic operator in particular cases and in general,
to give insight into the properties of the solution of the spectral problem. As
examples, the analytical index and the eigenvalues of the Dirac operator on the
torus and on the sphere are obtained and as an application of this technique,
the spectrum of the Dirac-Kahler operator on the sphere is explored.Comment: 11 page
Zastosowanie programu gwarancji dla zdrowia jamy ustnej w opiece nad kobietą w ciąży w rodzinnym centrum zdrowia w Concepción, Chile, w latach 2014–2015
Indexación: Scopus.Background. Oral health plays a crucial role in general health, quality of life and well-being of pregnant women and their newborns. In Chile, pregnant women have dental care guaranteed by law. However, due to the lack of previous epidemiological studies on the benefits of this guarantee, it is necessary to describe this situation and evaluate the need to change the methods of providing dental services. Objectives. The objective of this study was to describe the pattern of providing dental benefits resulting from the Explicit Health Guarantee – Integral Oral Health in Pregnant Women (GES-SOIE) program to pregnant women attending the Juan Soto Fernández Family Health Center, Concepción, Chile, in 2014–2015. Material and methods. A cross-sectional study of the electronic dental records of patients admitted to GES-SOIE was conducted. The variables studied were sociodemographic data, dental chair hours, non-attendance, treatment completion, and the type of referral to secondary healthcare (SHC). Results. Of 233 pregnant women, 65.2% were registered for non-attendance, 21.2% required referral to SHC and 76.4% completed their treatment. When performing logistic regression, it was found that for each non-attendance the chance of not completing the treatment increased 1.4 times. Conclusions. The level of non-attendance and opting out of the treatment in pregnant women is high, which hinders the proper functioning and effectiveness of GES-SOIE. © 2018 by Wroclaw Medical University and Polish Dental Society.http://www.dmp.umed.wroc.pl/en/article/2018/55/2/179
INFLUENCE OF THERMOPLASTIC PROCESSING PARAMETERS ON THEIR INTERNAL TEMPERATURE
With technological advances, polymers are increasingly used to manufacture various components that were previously exclusively manufactured with metals. One of the significant challenges in polymer processing is its relatively low thermal resistance, since relatively small temperature variations, especially when compared to metals and ceramics, lead to significant changes in material properties and in the final component geometry. This paper investigated how the internal temperature of polymers, subjected to an intermittent particulate jet deposition process in conjunction with a continuous flow of hot air, is affected by variation in surface roughness, polymer type, and air pressure. As the main result, low efficiency in heat transfer was caused by the combination of the convective nature of the heat exchange with the low thermal conductivity of the polymers. The variables with the most significant influence on the process were the intermittence and pressure of the particulate jet
Critical phenomena of thick branes in warped spacetimes
We have investigated the effects of a generic bulk first-order phase
transition on thick Minkowski branes in warped geometries. As occurs in
Euclidean space, when the system is brought near the phase transition an
interface separating two ordered phases splits into two interfaces with a
disordered phase in between. A remarkable and distinctive feature is that the
critical temperature of the phase transition is lowered due to pure geometrical
effects. We have studied a variety of critical exponents and the evolution of
the transverse-traceless sector of the metric fluctuations.Comment: revtex4, 4 pages, 4 figures, some comments added, typos corrected,

Mode decomposition and renormalization in semiclassical gravity
We compute the influence action for a system perturbatively coupled to a
linear scalar field acting as the environment. Subtleties related to
divergences that appear when summing over all the modes are made explicit and
clarified. Being closely connected with models used in the literature, we show
how to completely reconcile the results obtained in the context of stochastic
semiclassical gravity when using mode decomposition with those obtained by
other standard functional techniques.Comment: 4 pages, RevTeX, no figure
Análise do aproveitamento econômico do resÃduo florestal.
