Let H be a cocommutative faithfully flat Hopf quasigroup in a strict symmetric monoidal category with equalizers. In this paper we introduce the notion of (strong) Galois H-object and we prove that the set of isomorphism classes of (strong) Galois H-objects is a (group) monoid which coincides, in the Hopf algebra setting, with the Galois group of H-Galois objects introduced by Chase and Sweedler

The precambrian, ordovician and silurian materials outcropping in the Verín sinclyne have undergone the effects of a poliphase deformation during the Hercynian cycle. The deformation is synchronous with an intermediate low pressure type regional metamorphism. The existence of·a pre-silurian deformation phase is discarded. It is shown that the sttitude of the cleavages within the sinclyne is controlled by the irregular granitic basement and the overlying Braganza massi

Significance: Three-dimensional (3D) visualization of multicellular tumor spheroids (MCTS) in fluorescence microscopy can rapidly provide qualitative morphological information about the architecture of these cellular aggregates, which can recapitulate key aspects of their in vivo counterpart. Aim: The present work is aimed at overcoming the shallow depth-of-field (DoF) limitation in fluorescence microscopy while achieving 3D visualization of thick biological samples under study. Approach: A custom-built fluorescence microscope with an electrically focus-tunable lens was developed to optically sweep in-depth the structure of MCTS. Acquired multifocus stacks were combined by means of postprocessing algorithms performed in the Fourier domain. Results: Images with relevant characteristics as extended DoF, stereoscopic pairs as well as reconstructed viewpoints of MCTS were obtained without segmentation of the focused regions or estimation of the depth map. The reconstructed images allowed us to observe the 3D morphology of cell aggregates. Conclusions: Computational multifocus fluorescence microscopy can provide 3D visualization in MCTS. This tool is a promising development in assessing the morphological structure of different cellular aggregates while preserving a robust yet simple optical setup

Three models of flow resistance (a Keulegan-type logarithmic law and two models developed for large-scale roughness conditions: the full logarithmic law and a model based on an inflectional velocity profile) were calibrated, validated and compared using an extensive database (N = 1,533) from rivers and flumes, representative of a wide hydraulic and geomorphologic range in the field of gravel-bed and mountain channels. It is preferable to apply the model based on an inflectional velocity profile in the relative submergence (y/d90) interval between 0.5 and 15, while the full logarithmic law is preferable for values below 0.5. For high relative submergence, above 15, either the logarithmic law or the full logarithmic law can be applied.

Let [tau] be an invertible skew pairing on (B,H), where B and H are Hopf algebras in a symmetric monoidal category C with (co)equalizers. Assume that H is quasitriangular. Then we obtain a new algebra structure such that B is a Hopf algebra in the braided category HHYD and there exists a Hopf algebra isomorphism w: B[infinity]H --> B [tau]H in C, where B[infinity]H is a Hopf algebra with (co)algebra structure the smash (co)product and B [tau] H is the Hopf algebra defined by Doi and Takeuchi
