Empirical insights on understanding stakeholder influence
The paper deals with the stakeholder management especially giving focus on the organization's and stakeholder relationships issues. The purpose of the paper is to construct a new methodological approach by developing fuzzy logic model based on experts’ knowledge for conceptual insights on possible solutions for measuring stakeholders’ influence. The objective of the research includes identification of possible organization stakeholder interactions considering stakeholders’ influence according to such attributes/ factors as interest, power, benevolence, and reliability. The results reveal that fuzzy logic technique is a reliable and valid tool for modelling and visualizing knowledge about stakeholders’ influence on the organization. Finally, the results were tested on the real business data concerning stakeholders’ influence. A contribution of this paper is the application of fuzzy logic model to evaluate and/or predict stakeholders’ influence to the issues the organization seeks to solve and to provide relevant information for the stakeholder relationships management.

EDUCATION FOR HEALTH SOCIETY: INDICATORS OF BURSTINESS IN RESEARCH
Background: Education for health society attracts more and more research efforts as it facilitates the quality of society’s life. However, research on education for health society is of bursty nature. The phenomenon of burstiness is of particular research interest as it influences the flow of a number of processes including research and the quality of society’s life in general. Research question: What are indicators of burstiness in research? Approach: Interdisciplinary research was applied to the study of the meaning of the key concepts of burstiness, criteria, indicators and research. Moreover, the analysis demonstrates how the key concepts are related to the idea of education for health society and shows how the steps of the process are related following a logical chain: theoretical framework → empirical study → conclusions. Experiment: Qualitative study was applied for empirical analysis. The empirical study was carried out in February 2016. Conclusion: The theoretical findings on the inter-relationship between burstiness and gap processes allow determining the indicators of burstiness of research. The empirical findings of the research allow drawing the conclusions on a high level of research burstiness. A newly formulated research question is presented. Further research directions are proposed. KEY WORDS: Research, burstiness, criteria, indicators, interdisciplinary research. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181//atee.v1i0.1315
Interpretable Nonlinear Model for Enterprise Bankruptcy Prediction
The aim of this research was to model bankruptcy dependency of Lithuanian enterprises on their financial ratios and its dynamics over time by the integration of artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic technology using Adaptive Network – based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). We used data from financial reports for three years’ of 230 Lithuanian going and failed enterprises. Input variables used for the ANFIS model training and testing composed of 13 financial ratios of the last year before bankruptcy and 13 variables characterizing changes of that ratios over time. It was checked 1716 subsets of input variables, each subset containing five input variables. This way the ANFIS model and the best subset of predictive variables with minimal training errors was found. Test of that model showed that percentage of right failure and success predictions reached 80 %. Fuzzy rules of the ANFIS were used to construct interpretable rules base, which can be useful for enterprise managers as knowledge for the linguistic diagnosis of failure or financial problems
Second-harmonic generation in graded metallic films
We study the effective second-harmonic generation (SHG) susceptibility in
graded metallic films by invoking the local field effects exactly, and further
numerically demonstrate that the graded metallic films can serve as a novel
optical material for producing a broad structure in both the linear and SHG
response and an enhancement in the SHG signal.Comment: 10 pages, 2 EPS figures. Minor revision
Kauno technologijos universiteto Panevėžio instituto studentų nubyrėjimo kaita 2004–2006 metais
KTU Panevėžio institutas yra aukštoji mokykla, kurioje vykdomos universitetinės studijos ir studentai studijuoja pagal universitetines studijų programas. Lietuvos aukštosiose mokyklose kiekvienais studijų metais dalis studentų nubyra. Straipsnyje analizuojami I–II kurso inžinerinių studijų programų studentų nubyrėjimo statistiniai duomenys, jų kaita 2004–2006 m., lyginami dieninių ir vakarinių studijų programų studentų iškritimo rodikliai, akcentuojamos studentų mokymosi motyvacijos, pateikiamos išvados apie galimybes iškristi.Dynamics of students’ wastage in Kaunas University of Technology Panevėžys Institute during 2004–2006 academic yearRegina Padaigienė, Alina Dėmenienė, Ojaras Purvinis, Jadvyga Vasiliauskaitė
SummaryWe can observe students’ wastage in Lithuania universities each year. In the paper the analysis of statistical data and alternation dynamics of I–II courses students’ wastage at engineering study programmes is presented. The comparison of students’ wastage rate at full-time and part-time (evening) study programmes, conclusions concerning wastage possibilities are given in the paper as well as emphasis of students’ study motivation
Enhanced second harmonic generation from resonant GaAs gratings
We study second harmonic generation in nonlinear, GaAs gratings. We find
large enhancement of conversion efficiency when the pump field excites the
guided mode resonances of the grating. Under these circumstances the spectrum
near the pump wavelength displays sharp resonances characterized by dramatic
enhancements of local fields and favorable conditions for second harmonic
generation, even in regimes of strong linear absorption at the harmonic
wavelength. In particular, in a GaAs grating pumped at 1064nm, we predict
second harmonic conversion efficiencies approximately five orders of magnitude
larger than conversion rates achievable in either bulk or etalon structures of
the same material.Comment: 8 page

Lietuvos įmonių bankroto prognozė taikant diskriminantinę analizę
Signs of potential enterprise failure are evident months before the actual bankruptcy materializes. But accurate prediction of declining business activity that leads to bankruptcy allows time for managers and creditors to take corrective actions. Discriminant analysis of financial ratios is used in this report to create a model that would help to predict future financial insolvency in Lithuanian firms in different industries. Several financial ratios from the enterprise balance sheet are used as independent variables while solvency / insolvency is used as a dependent variable. A set of 5 solvent and 8 insolvent Lithuanian enterprises is used to perform the discriminant analysis (insolvency is defined here as legal bankruptcy). [...] Applying discriminant analysis to forecast enterprise bankruptcy reliability of this method was 70 per cent doing forecasts for the next two years and 84 per cent for the next year. Though discriminant analysis is less reliable comparing to unlinear complex methods of neural network, but it has the advantage of linear functions and their usage because they don't require any special programmes and are simple to use in practice
Lietuvos valstybės tarnautojų etosas: sociologinė perspektyva
Topic of administrative ethics is rather new in contemporary Lithuania. The purpose of this article is to summarise and analyse the findings of a survey and to present its conclusions. The ethos of Lithuanian public servants' is analysed from a sociological perspective. Various aspects of the findings are compared with recently published (2002) results of a survey conducted by the Free Market Institute. Analysis allows concluding that the situation of public servants' ethos isn't satisfactory neither from citizens, no from public servants perspective

Straipsnyje analizuojami įvairūs Lietuvos valstybės tarnautojų etoso aspektai. Pateikiami autorių atlikto tyrimo duomenys, kai kur juos bandant palyginti su 2002 m. pabaigoje Lietuvos laisvosios rinkos instituto atlikto tyrimo duomenimis apie valstybės tarnautojų ir politikų etiką Lietuvoje
