Methodological practice is based on complex linguistic research when semasiological and onomasiological aspects are combined. The article analyses the Lithuanian words for cow, bull and calf, in order to determine what conceptual features of animals semasiological and onomasiological lexical studies help to highlight. The main source of empirical material is the dictionary of the Lithuanian language. The analysis of complex semasiological and onomasiological lexemes shows that the language system identifies various conceptual features of cow, bull and calf. At the top of the animal hierarchy is the cow. The categorisation that emerges from the language system reflects the anthropocentric evaluation of the animals discussed.KEY WORDS: semasiology, onomasiology, zoonyms, model of motivation, types of models of motivation.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rh.v26i0.204

he article discusses the declining juvenile crime rate in Klaipėda between 1995 and 2019. The city of Klaipėda was chosen as an empirical illustration allowing not only to focus on a social phenomenon but also to identify possible directions of wider interpretation and causal links. The authors have already presented a sociological reconstruction of the identities of Klaipėda between 1990 and 2010,* and therefore the dynamics of juvenile crime discussed in the light of new statistical, sociological and especially legal perspectives should be approached as a continuation of the analysis of juvenile crime in Klaipėda. Placing juvenile crime in the context of social problems, the authors see legal changes and programmes in juvenile justice as possible reasons for the declining juvenile crime rate. However, with the conclusions and discussion in the article being based on four hypothetical assumptions for the declining crime rate (delinquency is caused by the process of juvenile biological and social development; a completely opposite hypothesis: with the end of maturation, delinquent behaviour also ceases; links between delinquency and socially vulnerable families; a return to K. Mannheim’s idea of a contract between the elite of society and youth) provoke a continuation of research in the field of youth crime.Key words: juvenile delinquency, juvenile crime, dynamics of crime, reforms in juvenile justice, programmes in juvenile justiceDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/tbb.v83i2.207

A One-Particle Generalized Coefficients of Fractional Parentage Calculation Method for Atomic Nucleus Harmonic Oscillator Shell Model

    No full text
A method for the calculation of the one-particle generalized coefficients of fractional parentage for several j-orbits with isospin and an arbitrary number of oscillator quanta (generalized CFPs or GCFPs) is presented. The approach is based on a simple enumeration scheme for antisymmetric many-particle states, an efficient algorithm for calculation of the CFPs for a single j-orbit with isospin, and a general procedure for computation of the angular momentum (isospin) recoupling coefficients describing the transformation between different momentum coupling schemes. The method provides fast calculation of GCFPs for a given particle number and produces results possessing small numerical uncertainties. The introduced GCFPs may be used for calculation of expectation values of one-particle nuclear shell-model operators within the isospin formalism.https://doi.org/10.15181/csat.v7i0.176

THE DECORATED SPINDLE-SHAPED BONE DAGGER FROM ŠARNELĖ: THE EARLIEST EXAMPLE OF HUNTER-GATHERER MOBILE ART IN LITHUANIA

This paper presents the latest data on a spindle-shaped decorated bone dagger, which was found as a stray find in the village of Šarnelė in northwest Lithuania, and which recently been dated to the Final Palaeolithic. It is currently the only one such example of osseous technology in Lithuania dated to this period. In 2016, we started to reinvestigate the Stone Age material from the Samogitian highland by AMS radiocarbon (14C) dating, stable isotopes, use-wear and Raman methods. AMS dating showed that the decorated dagger discovered in the surroundings of the drained Lake Ertenis and the River Varduva at Šarnelė currently is one of the oldest prehistoric art objects found in Lithuania and possibly in the eastern Baltic region as well. The dagger was also analysed by use-wear method, which helped to identify some stages of the production of the article itself and its decoration. The paper presents the first results of research of this artefact in the wider geographical and taxonomic context of the Final Palaeolithic in northern Europe.Key words: osseous technology, prehistoric art, AMS 14C data, use-wear, Final Palaeolithic, northwest Lithuania.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/ab.v26i0.202

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITY IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL GREEN TOURISM: THE CASE OF UKRAINE

    Get PDF
The subject of the research is the entrepreneurial potential of young people in the development of rural green tourism in Ukraine. Studies of trends in the rural labour market in terms of modernisation of the agrarian sector and the impact of world trends in transforming the role of rural territories have been taken into account. The development of entrepreneurship in the agricultural and industrial complex, including rural tourism, is one way of solving the youth employment problem. In the study, the authors rely on an assessment of the potential of rural green tourism in Ukraine, which is significant. The main directions of youth entrepreneurship in rural green tourism are identified. The article focuses on promoting the realisation of the potential of youth in rural green tourism businesses. Specific examples show features of labour motivation and highlight opportunities for its increase in entrepreneurship in rural green tourism. It is proposed to create conditions for the activation of youth entrepreneurship in rural green tourism. The authors come to the conclusion that modern youth, as a specific socio-demographic group, are a reserve for the multiplication of the labour force in the agricultural sector, and are a strategic resource for the development of rural areas through entrepreneurship in various fields, including rural green tourism.KEY WORDS: entrepreneurship, youth, rural green tourism, Ukraine, private farming households.JEL: J13, L83, P25DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v31i2.210

LEVELS OF SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN THE HOST COMMUNITY

The purpose of the article is to present the results of an empirical study on the level of social integration of internally displaced persons in the host community. Social integration is seen as an active process involving both parties: migrants and the host population. The process is continuous, so the focus is on the degree of integration of internally displaced persons, reflected at three levels, high, medium and low. The degree of social integration of IDPs in the local community is an aggregate indicator of socio-economic, socio-psychological, cultural-communicative and socio-political elements. The study applied a set of standardised methods, as well as correlation, factor and variance analysis (Fisher’s criterion). The results show a positive tendency for integration by the vast majority of internally displaced persons who participated in the study: only 26 respondents (12.9%) had a low level, 121 respondents (60.2%) had a medium level, and 54 respondents had a high level (26.9%).KEY WORDS: social integration, integration levels, internally displaced persons in Ukraine, host community.JEL CODES: I 31, I 38, O 15, R 23DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v31i2.209

TURIZMO POVEIKIO VERTINIMAS EKONOMINIU, SOCIOKULTŪRINIU, APLINKOSAUGINIU ASPEKTAIS DABARTINĖS TURIZMO APIMTIES TENDENCIJŲ KONTEKSTE

Šiandien susiduriame su situacija, kai turizmo sektorius nuolat sparčiai auga. Skaičiuojama, kad bendras tarptautinių turistų skaičius iki 2030 m. sieks 1,8 milijardo. Šiuo tyrimu siekiama įvertinti turizmo poveikį ekonominiu, sociokultūriniu, aplinkosauginiu aspektais dabartinės turizmo apimties tendencijų kontekste. Taikomi mokslinės literatūros analizės, sintezės, statistinių duomenų analizės, situacinio modeliavimo metodai. Tyrimo apimtyje teigiamas ir neigiamas turizmo poveikis analizuotas išskiriant tris pagrindines dimensijas: ekonominę, sociokultūrinę bei aplinkosauginę. Neigiamo poveikio persvara ypač ryški aplinkosauginiu aspektu. Nuolat augantys turizmo mastai lėmė perteklinio turizmo sąvokos apibrėžtį. Daugelyje labiausiai lankomų pasaulio šalių metinis turistų skaičius viršija gyventojų skaičių. Pernelyg didelė turizmo apimtis stiprina neigiamą turizmo poveikį. Be abejo, siekiant išsaugoti palankią ekonominę, sociokultūrinę ir gamtinę aplinką, paskatinti turizmo teikiamą naudą ir minimizuoti neigiamą poveikį, turizmo reiškinys turi būti kontroliuojamas.PAGRINDINIAI ŽODŽIAI: turizmas, turizmo poveikis, turizmo apimties tendencijos, perteklinis turizmas.JEL KLASIFIKACIJA: Z30, Z32, L83.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v31i2.209
