    3D printer technology is being widely used in various manufacturing industries. 3D printers can produce three-dimensional products made of plastic sheets with a certain diameter called filaments. 3D printer filaments that are widely used are made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic. The purpose of this research is to develop a Creatics plastic waste processing machine to produce products in the form of filaments that can be used as materials in 3D printers, so that they have more economic value and are environmentally friendly. Creatics machine is an integrated plastic waste processing machine that converts plastic waste into recycled products. In this study, the Teorija Rezhenija Izobretatelskih Zadach (TRIZ) method is used as a product development method to determine product specifications that are able to generate new ideas by eliminating contradictions and using innovative principles that can produce creative solutions. In the process of selecting alternative concepts, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) decision-making method is used. The results obtained by the TRIZ method are important parameters and need to be prioritized in designing a filament extruder, namely product reliability, energy use from moving objects, and product strength. The product design chosen based on the AHP method is a filament extruder made of stainless steel to be resistant to rust and utilizes the fan in the filament cooling process.Keywords - AHP method, Creatics machine, Filament extruder, Plastics waste, TRIZ metho

    Cladding effects on silica directional couplers

    Directional couplers are widely used as passive and active optical devices in fibre and integrated optics, and form the basis of components such as switches, modulators and wavelength filters. They consist of two closely-spaced parallel waveguides, whose separation is sufficiently small that power may be transferred between the modes propagating in the two guides through an interaction involving their evanescent fields. In this paper results are presented for a range of near infrared single mode silica directional couplers fabricated by electron beam irradiation. The effects of over cladding layers will be highlighted. Changes on coupling coefficient due to different cladding refractive indexes will also be examined. The coupled mode theory will be employed to fit the experimental results with prediction by theory. It is found that over cladding layer alters the transmission characteristics of silica directional couplers

    Efficiency in using plastic injection technology, especially within small to medium enterprises, is a very difficult target to achieve.  One of the contributing factor to the high cost of  using this technology is the trial and error nature of constructing the plastic mold which directly affect machninig cost and longet production cycle time.  The trial and error scheme can be significantly reduced and even eliminated with the application of concurrent engineering method supported by virtual prototype based CAD (computer aided design) and CAE (computer aided engineering).  Virtual prototype technology gives way to product analysis, design and material optimization, and proses parameter optimization prior to implementing the manufacturing process.  Therefore, we can anticipate all potential manufacturing flaws during the design process.  It is then expeceted to reduce machning and production process cost, increase product quality to boost up Company’s competitive advantage

    CV. Atham Mainan Kayu merupakan perusahaan yang termasuk dalam Industri Kecil Menengah (IKM) dan bergerak dalam bidang produksi dan distribusi mainan bagi anak-anak. CV Atham Mainan Kayu banyak memproduksi produk-produk mainan untuk anak-anak yang berbahan dasar kayu. Salah satu produk yang menjadi objek penelitian kali ini yaitu produk mainan City Car Block. City Car Block terdiri dari 11 komponen. Dari 11 komponen tersebut, banyak komponen-komponen dari mainan City Car Block yang cacat dan tidak layak untuk masuk ke meja packing. Maka dari itu peneliti melakukan penelitian di stasiun kerja pengamplasan. Dari stasiun pengamplasan tersebut peneliti mengamati dan menganalisa dengan menggunakan tools diagram pareto, kemudian diagram sebab akibat (Fishbone), kemudian dari hasil diagram sebab akibat (Fishbone) dibuatlah analisa failure atau potensi kegagalan dengan pendekatan Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (FMEA). Dari hasil pengumpulan dan pengolahan data yang telah dilakukan pada penelitian kali ini, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis cacat pada produk City Car Block terdapat 9 jenis cacat yaitu retak tidak rata, berlubang, lubang bekas kutu, berserat, cat tidak rata, mata kayu, serta bor tidak rata. Kemudian jenis cacat yang sering terjadi pada produk City Car Block yaitu jenis cacat brudul dengan akumulasi 26.3%, gompal dengan akumulasi 45.9%, retak dengan akumulasi 62.4%, bolong dengan akumulasi 78.2%, dan tidak rata dengan akumulasi 92.5%. Serta cara memperbaiki untuk mengurangi terjadinya produk cacat pada produk mainan City Car Block pada stasiun pengamplasan dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada operator, memberikan arahan kepada penanggung jawab bagian quality, memberikan masukan kepada supplier bahan, serta melakukan perawatan mesin secara berkala. Kata kunci : diagram pareto, fishbone, FME

    Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Analysis to Minimize Six Big Losses in Continuous Blanking Machine

    This paper describes the high downtime on continuous blanking machines. The result is that companies suffer losses in cost, human resources, and time. Therefore, companies need to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). TPM aims to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing companies. Then the TPM itself needs to be evaluated. One of the methods used is the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as an indicator of the machine's effectiveness by calculating the six big losses to determine the factors that influence the six factors of the six big losses. Based on research that has been done, the machine availability ratio is 99%, performance efficiency is 84%, product rate of quality is 83%. While the value obtained on the OEE calculation is 71%, the value is below the world's ideal OEE standard value of > 85%. The highest loss values for six big losses are idle and minor stoppage losses with a percentage of 62.73%, setup and adjustment losses of 14.38%

    Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of the process of ISO 27001 with respect to the confidentiality of customer cellular card Jakarta and to improve cellular card customer data confidentiality at PT.XYZ from data leakage of the customer data due to the third party involvement, clean-desk policy, and access right. Recommendation regarding the improvement is provided after reviewing the confidentiality of customer data. The survey in this study is conducted by questionnaire. From the evaluation results of the questionnaire, it is concluded that the larger customer data leaks are mainly caused by the external factors
