ELECTROCHEMISTRY STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GRAIN BOUNDARY STATE AND CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF ULTRAFINE GRAINED IRON CHROMIUM ALLOY. Research on stainless steel corrosion resistance continues to grow today. This reality cannot be separated from the needs of stainless steels in various fields, one of which is bio-implant. In this research, the effect of grain size on the corrosion behavior of iron-chromium (Fe-Cr) alloy was investigated. Coarse grain Fe-Cr alloy was first processed with equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) for eight cycles to obtain ultrafine grain structure. The coarse and ultrafine grain samples then were then tested using XRD, SEM-EBSD, and the pitting corrosion properties tested using potentiodynamic polarization method in NaCl 1 M solution. The result of XRD dan SEM-EBSD shows that the initial sample is truly has a coarse grain structure, while ECAP produces an ultrafine grain structure. Corrosion test results showed that the ultrafine grain sample had better pitting corrosion resistance compared to the coarse grain sample. This behavior is related to the rate of passivation that depends on non-equilibrium grain boundaries, which can be easily observed in the ultrafine grain structure. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ultrafine grain Fe-Cr alloy has a better corrosion resistance compared to the coarse grain

Synthesis of Mn(II) Complexes-Carboxymethyl Chitosan Schiff Base Salicylaldehyde and Antibacterial Activity
The development of compounds with a better antibacterial activity is highly needed. One way to achieve this is by modifying the structure of the compound using chitosan as a starting material, because of its abundant natural source in Indonesia, its biodegradable properties, and its structure where free amines are present. This study aims to obtain Mn(II) -Carboxymethyl Chitosan Schiff Base-Salicylaldehyde complex to increase its antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (Gram positive) and Escherichia coli (Gram negative). Schiff Base carboxymethyl chitosan-salicylaldehyde was synthesized from carboxymethyl chitosan with salicylaldehyde. Next, the Schiff Base Carboxymethyl Chitosan-Salicylaldehyde was complexed with MnCl2.4H2O and then characterized by FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, and AAS and tested for antibacterial activity with the disc diffusion method against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The product of Carboxymethyl Chitosan Schiff Base-salicylaldehyde is a brownish yellow solid with a yield of 64% (w/w) and has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (clear zone diameter 11 mm) and Escherichia coli (clear zone diameter 13 mm). The product of Mn(II) Complexes-Carboxymethyl Chitosan Schiff Base-salicylaldehyde is a black solid with a yield of 59% (w/w) and has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (clear zone diameter 13 mm) and Escherichia coli (clear zone diameter 17 mm)
PELATIHAN KESELAMATAN PENGELASAN MATERIAL STAINLESS STEEL PADA BENGKEL LAS RUMAHAN DESA KLAGENSERUT MADIUN
Desa Klagenserut adalah desa di kecamatan Jiwan, kabupaten Madiun, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Mata pencaharian utama masyarakat Desa Klagenserut adalah bertani, berdagang dan wirausaha. Selain itu, warga menciptakan lapangan kerja sendiri yang dibutuhkan oleh warga lain. Sebagian warga membuka sebuah usaha dengan membuka sebuah bengkel las rumahan. Mereka mengerjakan beberapa produk dan menghasilkan sebuah produk seperti pembuatan pagar besi, tralis besi, kanopi, tangga besi, perbaikan mesin pertanian dan sebagainya. Bengkel las tersebut mengerjakan produk tersebut dari material besi hollow, besi plat, besi siku dan juga material stainless steel. Material stainless steel ini di masyarakat dikenal sebagai material yang tahan korosi dan mempunyai nilai estetika lebih bagus dibandingkan material logam lainnya. Namun masyarakat Desa Klagenserut khususnya yang membuka usaha dengan membuka bengkel las rumahan, masih belum memahami betul bagaimana cara yang tepat dalam melakukan proses pemotongan, proses penyambungan dan proses pembentukan material stainless steel. Sehingga dibutuhkan sebuah penyuluhan dan pelatihan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan proses pengelasan pada material stainless steel. Keselamatan dalam proses pemotongan logam dan keselamatan dalam proses pembentukan khususnya pada material stainless steel sangatlah penting, Dengan pelatihan ini semoga warga Desa Klagenserut bisa meningkatkan perekonomian, meningkatkan kesejahteraan, meningkatkan keselamatan dan meningkatkan produk hasil lasan
Corrosion behavior of pure magnesium processed by accumulative roll bonding for biomaterial application
583-590Magnesium is one of the materials that can be used as an implant for the human body. It is because the daily intake of
magnesium for an adult is 240-420 mg/day. Also, the elastic modulus (41 – 45 GPa) and density (1.74 g/cm3) of magnesium
is closer to that of natural bone. However, pure magnesium in the as-cast condition has a very fast corrosion rate,
2,89mmPY in 0.9% NaCl solution. Accumulative roll bonding (ARB) is done in this recent study to improve the corrosion
rate of pure magnesium. ARB is one of the severe plastic deformations (SPD) method, which provides the possibility to
obtain high strained materials without a macroscopic change after a cyclic roll-bonding process (stacking, preheating and
rolling). Magnesium is annealed at 250°C and 350°C for 25 minutes, and then the ARB process is done with variation; one,
two, three and four cycles. The composition was tested using SEM-EDS, showing that the content of a pure magnesium
plate (as annealed) is 99.77%. The grain size is observed using the optic microscope and measured by ImageJ, while the
corrosion rate was measured with an electrochemical and immersion test. The result showed the smallest grain size achieved
is 7.204 ± 1,185 μm and that the lowest corrosion rate is 0,0012mmPY. The polarization resistance determined the thickness
and the ability of passivation area obtained with the increasing number of ARB cycles. The higher plastic deformation is
recommended for improve the corrosion resistance of the metallic material for future works
Development of Magnetic-Silica Particles and In-house Buffers Kit for SARS-CoV-2 and CDV RNA Extraction
Since the end of 2019, COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel SARS-CoV-2 has become a serious problem for the world. Accurate and rapid techniques in testing and tracing are needed to control the virus spreading. Molecular diagnostics through gene amplification techniques, especially PCR, still become the gold standard for SARS-CoV-2 detection, which requires the first step of RNA extraction and purification. The limitations of commercial RNA extraction-purification kits during the pandemic caused a big problem in testing and tracing, especially for developing countries. A simple RNA extraction-purification kit based on magnetic-silica (MAGSi) beads and non-guanidine in-house buffers for RNA virus extraction-purification has been developed. Two types of MAGSi beads with different magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) content were synthesized through a modified Stöber’s method using the sonication technique. The PCR result shows that both the MAGSi beads and the buffer can be used as a kit for RNA extraction-purification, tested for SARS-CoV-2 and Canine Distemper Virus. Further study shows that MAGSi-1 has better RNA extraction ability, and a higher concentration of RNA has been extracted. This is likely because of the smaller particle size distribution (50–1,500 nm distribution) and higher magnetization (20.2 emu/g) of MAGSi-1 compared to MAGSi-2 with 100–1,700 nm size distribution and 14.2 emu/g magnetization
PERATURAN DAN IMPLEMENTASI PENATAAN IKLAN LUAR RUANG DI KABUPATEN GUNUNGKIDUL (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif tentang Peraturan dan Implementasi Penempatan Iklan Luar Ruang di Kabupaten Gunungkidul)
Latar belakang dilakukan penelitian ini, karena semakin banyaknya iklan
luar ruang yang bermunculan. Iklan luar ruang seakan berlomba untuk
mendapatkan perhatian khalayak, hal semacam itu terjadi hingga ke daerah-daerah
kecil salah satunya Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
peraturan dan implementasi yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Daerah Gunungkidul
dalam penataan iklan luar ruang. Penelitian ini menggunakan sebuah studi
deskriptif kualitatif mengenai penempatan iklan luar ruang di Gunungkidul.
Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara dan juga observasi di lapangan.
Teori utama yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah media luar ruang, peraturan
penempatan iklan luar ruang, implementasi penataan iklan luar ruang, dan etika
dan estetika iklan luar ruang.
Peraturan dalam hal ini adalah acuan yang digunakan oleh Pemerintah
Daerah Gunungkidul dalam hal penataan iklan luar ruang, kemudian untuk
implementasi yaitu untuk mengetahui instansi-instansi di Gunungkidul yang
mengurusi iklan luar ruang seperti Kantor Pelayanan Terpadu yang mengurusi
perijinan, BPPKAD bagian pengurusan pajak, DPU bagian pengurusan tata letak
dan teknis pemasangan iklan, Sat Pol PP yang mengurusi tentang pendataan dan
evaluasi di lapangan.
Pemerintah Daerah Gunungkidul dalam pelaksanaannya menggunakan
acuan Peraturan Daerah No 3 Tahun 2008 tentang ijin penyelenggaraan reklame
dan juga Peraturan Daerah No 4 Tahun 2008 tentang pajak reklame. Peraturan
yang digunakan oleh Pemerintah Daerah Gunungkidul sudah memperhatikan
aspek ketertiban umum, keamanan, kesusilaan, kesehatan, kenyamanan,
keindahan, dan kepentingan pembangunan. Peraturan tersebut juga mengatur
mengenai tata letak, pola dan dimensi, jenis iklan, jumlah iklan, bahasa yang
digunakan, dan juga struktur rangka iklan luar ruang.
Implementasi yang terjadi di lapangan masih terdapat beberapa
pelanggaran dalam penempatan iklan luar ruang di Gunungkidul, hal tersebut
dikarenakan oleh beberapa faktor. Faktor yang pertama adalah banyaknya instansi
di Gunungkidul yang mengurusi penataan iklan luar ruang, sehingga kurang
koordinasi antar instansi. Faktor yang lain karena Gunungkidul belum mempunyai
masterplan reklame, sehingga peraturan yang dipunyai oleh Pemerintah Daerah
Gunungkidul kurang rinci dalam hal penataan iklan luar ruang. Sehingga dengan
kata lain masterplan reklame harus segera dibuat oleh Pemerintah Gunungkidul
agar iklan luar ruang dapat tertata dengan baik sehingga dapat menghasilkan
pemasukan daerah berupa pajak
Varisela Neonatal
Varisela atau cacar air merupakan infeksi primer virus varicella zoster. Varisela dapat mengenai seluruh kelompok usia termasuk neonatus. Manifestasi klinis pada neonatus tergantung saat paparan. Terdapat tiga jenis varisela neonatal, yakni sindrom varisela fetal, varisela neonatal dini, dan varisela post natal. Diagnosis varisela neonatal terutama ditegakkan secara klinis disertai adanya riwayat paparan. Tatalaksana meliputi rawat inap dan pemberian asiklovir intravena.Varicella or chickenpox is a primary varicella zoster virus infection. Varicella infects all age groups including newborns. Clinical manifestations of varicella infection in neonates depend on the time of exposure. Three types of neonatal varicella are fetal varicella syndrome, early neonatal varicella, and post natal varicella. Diagnosis was made mainly by clinical findings and history of exposure. Treatment includes hospitalization and intravenous acyclovir administration
