Le bonimenteur « rouge » : Retour sur la question de l’oralité à propos du cas soviétique

À partir de l’étude d’un cas (l’accompagnement oral des films dans les années 1920 et 1930 en Union soviétique, à la campagne et dans les clubs ouvriers), l’article propose une réflexion sur la notion d’oralité au cinéma. Le matériel présenté permet également de penser l’articulation entre histoire du cinéma et histoire sociale et politique. Enfin, ce cas permet de jeter un nouvel éclairage sur les pratiques culturelles des premières années du réalisme socialiste.Taking as a point of departure a case study (the oral accompaniment of Soviet films from the 1920’s and 1930’s, made in the countryside and in workers’ clubs), this article reflects upon the notion of orality in cinema. Additionally, the material presented allows one to think about the articulation between the history of the cinema and social and political history. Finally, this case study throws new light upon the cultural practices of the early years of socialist realism

Paradise Sold: Resource Partitioning and the Organic Movement in the US Farming Industry

Resource partitioning theory maintains that in markets in which anti-mass-production cultural sentiments make producer identity relevant, there should be no direct competition between generalists and specialists. Nevertheless, anecdotal evidence suggests that after initial partitioning, such competition, and hence de-partitioning, is in some cases possible. We refine received insights of resource partitioning theory regarding the stability of niche markets, particularly those driven by identity movements, by introducing the notion that partitioning is a dynamic and even reversible process. Previous research has offered an answer to the question of why identity movements create partitioning: because they increase the dimensionality of the resource space and engender sanctioning of visible violations of the specialists' organizational form identity. In contrast, we offer an answer to the question of how and when markets may partition in a stable way: by generating sharply defined specialist form identities whose definitional code includes limits to organizational growth. Identity movements are underpinned with mechanisms that can facilitate or inhibit market partitioning, depending on their ability to generate sharp specialist form identities. We illustrate our argument through the case of organic farming in the United States, with reference to prior work on micro-brews and micro-radio, and discuss implications for resource partitioning theory

En este trabajo se revisan los 51 nombres (45 especies y seis variedades) publicados en Apodanthera, reconociéndose 23 especies (una de ellas con dos variedades), un taxón se considera dudoso (A. longipedicellata), y siete taxones excluidos (cinco de éstos fueron excluidos por autores anteriores y otros dos son excluidos en esta contribución: A. congestiflora y A. trifoliata). Se proponen 13 nuevas sinonimias taxonómicas: A. congestiflora, A. crispa, A. cucurbitoides, A. herrerae, A. latipetala, A. mandonii var. canescens, A. mandonii var. dissecta, A. moqueguana, A. mucronata, A. roseana, A. succulenta, A. undulata var. australis y Willbrandia villosa. Se realiza una nueva combinación: A. linearis var. dissecta; y se designan lectotipos para los siguientes 29 taxones: A. argentea var. angustifolia, A. aspera, A. biflora, A. cinerea, A. crispa, A. eriocalyx, A. fasciculata, A. galeotti, A. glaziovii, A. hatschbachii, A. herrerae, A. hirtella, A. laciniosa, A. lasiocalyx, A. mandonii, A. moqueguana, A. mucronata, A. palmeri, A. pedisecta, A. roseana, A. scabra, A. tumbeziana, A. undulata, A. undulata var. australis, A. weberbaueri, Guraniopsis longipedicellata, Wilbrandia dusenii, W. linearis y W. sagittifolia. Este artículo incluye además tres claves dicotómicas para separar a Apodanthera de sus géneros afines morfológicamente, y una cuarta clave para distinguir a las secciones y especies dentro de este género. Se incluye una lista completa de los especímenes estudiados (670 hojas de herbario), ilustraciones de pluma originales de A. mathewsii, A. undulata y Doyerea emetocathartica, esquemas y fotografías ilustrativas de la morfología del género, mapas de distribución y una discusión sobre la morfología y la distribución geográfica y hábitats de Apodanthera.This contribution reviews all 51 names (45 species and six varieties) published in Apodanthera, recognizing 23 species (one of them with two varieties), a doubtful taxon (A. longipedicellata), and seven excluded taxa (five of them excluded by former authors, and two in this work: A. congestiflora y A. trifoliata). A new species of Minuartia (Caryophyllaceae) restricted to the high Andes of South America

A new apetalous species of Minuartia from the high Andes of northwestern Argentina, M. altoandina, is here described and illustrated. At first sight, M. altoandina is morphologically very similar to the European M. sedoides because of the absence of petals and ciliate leaf margin with narrow hyaline teeth; however, from a biogeographical point of view, it will probably be related to the North American M. rossii complex through the morphology of M. austromontana.Fil: Nicola, Marcela Viviana. Avant d’aborder cet ouvrage, il faut évoquer son auteur brutalement disparu en décembre 2008. Né en 1954 à Oufa, dans l’Oural, Rashit Ianguirov était diplômé d’histoire de l’Université d’État de Moscou. Il avait commencé sa carrière en 1978 comme collaborateur du musée de la Révolution, et avait rejoint le musée du Cinéma à sa création en 1986. Doté d’une vaste érudition, Rashit avait le goût de la quête en archives, qui s’ouvrit pour lui dès la perestroïka. Son esprit curieux le porta d’embl..

Employee-Friendly Practices and Innovation

We examine the inter-relationships among employee-friendly policies (EFP), innovation through R&D investment, and firm value. We hypothesize that firms with higher levels of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit are more likely to utilize EFP. Furthermore, we speculate that the value-EFP association is more pronounced in firms with high R&D intensity. Consistent with these assertions, we find that EFP is significantly and positively related to R&D investment and the number of patents. EFP is also associated with increased firm value at high levels of R&D investment and high numbers of patents. Furthermore, we find that firms investing more in R&D are more likely to treat their workers favorably and that markets react positively when such firms are recognized for their favorable treatment of employees. Our analysis, based on a large sample of U.S.-based firms and two different measures of employee-friendly policies, supports the assertion that EFP based on sustainable innovation and entrepreneurial mindsets contributes to value creation
