Queen Anne Commands: clothing the kettle drummer to the Ordnance 1706-1709

The account books of the Board of Ordnance in the National Archives list the provisions made to the Ordnance, including clothing, and offer a wonderful insight into uniform provided to the soldiers serving with this branch of the military at time of the War of the Spanish Succession. Through a series of accounts dating from 1706 to 1708 this paper demonstrates how one position under the control of the Board of Ordnance, that of the kettle drummer, was ostentatious in the extreme requiring ninety yards of gold lace. The article will relate his clothing to clothing provided to other soldiers, and show how his clothes reflected the high status of the kettle drummer

KETERSEDIAAN VEGETASI PADA KORIDOR JALAN NGESREP BANYUMANIK

Setiap harinya intensitas pergerakan pengguna jalan di koridor Jalan Ngesrep ini bertambah tinggi dikarenakan aktivitas yang terdapat di sepanjang koridor jalan ini beragam seperti pemukiman penduduk dan perdaganggan jasa. Berkurangnya luas lahan ruang terbuka hijau untuk ketersediaan vegetasi di sepanjang koridor Jalan Ngesrep menjadi nilai estetika koridor tersebut berkurang. Ketersediaan vegetasi yang berperan penting dalam efektivitas fungsi ruang terbuka hijau selain berfungsi sebagai nilai estetika juga bermanfaat menyerap polusi udara. Kurangnya jumlah ketersediaan vegetasi pada koridor JalanNgesrep terkait dengan kurangnya proporsi kawasan yang dialokasikan untuk ruang terbuka dan menyebabkan menjadi rendah, menurunnya tingkat kesejahteraan masyarakat dan secara langsung menyebabkan menurunnya nilai estetika hijau lingkungan serta sarana cadangan air tanah ikut serta menurun. Untuk memenuhi ketersediaan vegetasi pada koridor Jalan Ngesrep yang fungsional dan ekologis pada suatu sistem perkotaan diperlukan adanya pengelolaan yang komprehensif dari bebagai pihak yaitu pemerintah, swsata, dan masyarakat

Narrative Analysis of Marketing Communication Y2K Music School and Studio on Social Media

This research was conducted to find out how the branding activity done by Y2K Music School and Studio through social media account Instagram @ y2kstudio. This research would like to examine more deeply related to marketing activity such as what applied Y2K Music School and Studio in building brand Y2K Music School and Studio as a music school through its official Instagram. There is also a method used in this research is a method of narrative analysis which is a method in the field of qualitative research. The data were collected using literature study on textbooks, online data tracking, and in-depth interviews on key informants related to the study. The results of this study states that the form of branding activities conducted by Y2K Music School and Studio through social media accounts Instagram @ y2kstudio is a marketing communication in the form of delivering information with positive ambiance related Y2K Music School and Studio and also in the form of information delivery activities related promotions which is currently running at Y2K Music School and Studio

Risk of reconviction among offenders who commence the Blacktown Traffic Offender Program

This paper examines the profile of offenders who commenced the Blacktown Traffic Offender Program between 1994 and 2011 and investigates which factors predict re-offending. Method: Descriptive statistics were used to examine the profile of program participants. Logistic regression models were used to determine which participant characteristics were associated with an increased risk of reconviction (for any offence and any traffic offence). Results: Fifteen per cent of participants committed a new offence in the 2 years following program commencement, and 11 per cent committed a further traffic offence. Being male, aged between 16 and 20 years, Indigenous, having a prior criminal record, and having 3 or more concurrent offences were all associated with an increased risk of being convicted for any further offence. Being aged between 16 and 20 years, living in more disadvantaged areas, having a prior criminal record, and having 3 or more concurrent offences were associated with an increased likelihood of being convicted for a new traffic offence. Approximately two-thirds of offenders who present with 4 or more risk factors go on to commit any new offence and one-third commit a new traffic offence. Conclusion: Results suggests that certain individual characteristics indicate an elevated risk of reconviction for any further offence, and further traffic offences in the 2 years following commencement of the Blacktown Traffic Offender Program. Offenders who present with multiple (4 or more) risk factors are at significantly greater risk of reconviction

Human ascariasis: diagnostics update

Soil-transmitted helminths (STHs) infect over one billion people worldwide. Ascariasis may mimic a number of conditions, and individual clinical diagnosis often requires a thorough work-up. Kato-Katz thick smears are the standard detection method for Ascaris and, despite low sensitivity, are often used for mapping and monitoring and evaluation of national control programmes. Although increased sampling (number of stools) and diagnostic (number of examinations per stool) efforts can improve sensitivity, Kato-Katz is less sensitive than other microscopy methods such as FLOTAC®. Antibody-based diagnostics may be a sensitive diagnostic tool; however, their usefulness is limited to assessing transmission in areas aiming for elimination. Molecular diagnostics are highly sensitive and specific, but high costs limit their use to individual diagnosis, drug - efficacy studies and identification of Ascaris suum. Increased investments in research on Ascaris and other STHs are urgently required for the development of diagnostic assays to support efforts to reduce human suffering caused by these infections

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi kejenuhan belajar yang dialami peserta didik, untuk mengetahui usaha guru BK mengatasi kecenderungan kejenuhan belajar pada siswa, dan untuk mengetahui kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru BK dalam mengatasi kecenderungan kejenuhan belajar pada siswa SMA Negeri Unggulan di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini siswa dan guru BK yang berjumlah 33 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi Pengolahan data bersifat naratif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi kejenuhan belajar yang dialami pada siswa disebabkan oleh kurangnya waktu beristirahat yang menyebabkan siswa sulit fokus pada saat belajar, kurangnya waktu istirahat disebabkan oleh banyaknya tugas yang diberikan oleh guru, dan penggunaan metode yang tidak bervariasi seperti penggunaan metode ceramah, mencatat, merangkum, dan tanpa diselini dengan metode yang lain. Usaha guru BK mengatasi kecenderungan kejenuhan belajar pada siswa dengan memberikan motivasi dan perhatian khusus kepada siswa serta memberikan layanan konseling dengan teknik bermain peran, penugasan dan teknik assertif, dan bekerja sama antara orang tua siswa, wali kelas, dan guru mata pelajaran.
