MUSIC FESTIVALS IN MODERN ITALY DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

This study analyses one of the complex problems of modern artistic discourse – the functioning of a music festival as a special form of intercultural dialogue and its integration into a modern cultural medium. The article reveals the issues of the relationship of its components, such as the conditions for the implementation of intercultural communication in the context of a music festival; the morphological space of the multi-layer score of this artistic phenomenon; forms of intercultural communication, and sociocultural constraints associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to analyze the music festival as one of the forms of polyculture dialogue and its functioning in the new realities of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this regard, both theoretical (semantic analysis) and practical (comparative analysis) research methods were used. As a result of the study, it was proven that a music festival as one of the forms of intercultural dialogue allows realizing different semantic levels of culture, enriches spirituality, and contributes to the consolidation of representatives of different cultures, leading to a constructive solution of the problems of artistic discourse; it was revealed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, not all genre and stylistic forms could be realized, due to the difficult situation of socio-cultural isolation; a classification of new formats for holding music festivals was proposed, which take into account the current conditions for its functioning in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The practical significance of this study is that its results can be used for further analysis of the mechanisms of functioning and broadcasting of a polyphonically complex score of a music festival

Розвиток компетентності в читанні у студентів першого курсу на матеріалах анломовних інтернет-новин

The article touches upon the problem of ESL reading strategies and skills development in the first year of studies at university. Reading is seen as a complex interactive process between a reader and a text where various kinds of knowledge are used: linguistic (through bottom-up processing) as well as schematic knowledge (through top-down processing). By the end of the first year students are to acquire Level B2 (Vantage) according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This means that they can read articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems in which the writers adopt particular attitudes or viewpoints; adapt style and speed of reading to different texts and purposes; scan quickly through the text locating relevant details; identify the content and relevance of news items on a wide rage of topics, etc. The authors of the article believe that the recourses of the websites News in Levels and Breaking News English meet all the requirements for texts aimed at developing key reading strategies and skills. The reading tasks introduced in the article involve three-phase procedures: pre-, while-, post-reading stages. The pre-reading stage helps to activate the relevant schema and motivate students before the actual reading takes place. The while-reading stage is aimed at developing students’ linguistic and schematic knowledge as well as crucial reading skills. The post-reading stage is used as a springboard for further language practice. The use of a balanced approach to teaching reading which incorporates both top-down and bottom-up processes proves to be an effective way to improve reading skills in L2У статті розглянуто питання формування компетентності в читанні у студентів-першокурсників на матеріалах англомовних Інтернет-новин. Авторами запропоновано методичні рекомендації, в яких представлена схема роботи над текстом новин у три етапи. Подкастинг як засіб формування компетентності в англомовному аудіюванні студентів молодших курсів

This paper addresses the issue of the use of podcasts in teaching listening skills to university students. Podcasts as new technology tools aim to help English learners to increase listening comprehension, providing them with authentic and motivating materials. The authors describe didactic characteristics and taxonomy of podcasts; prove using podcasts as one of interactive means to support learning process in developing listening skills. The aims of listening competence formation to first-year students are defined. By the end of the first year students are to acquire Level B2 according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This means that they can comprehend large statements; follow the reasoning on contemporary topics; understand news, programs and films in literary language. Podcasts have three levels of difficulty and provide a transition from Level B1 to B2 and therefore can be applied to develop listening skills to first-year students. The main stages of developing students’ listening skills are specified. In the pre-listening stage students are prepared to listen to the podcast using their background knowledge. The while-listening stage is aimed at listening for gist, listening for details, making inferences and summarizing. In the post-listening stage the listeners are taken beyond the podcast content and set tasks which contribute to integrating other language skills. Examples of exercises which correspond to these three stages are provided. The process of listening applies "top-down" and "bottom-up" strategies. The "top-down" strategy focuses on listeners’ background knowledge, which activates the listener's expectation of the podcast and helps predict its content. The text is the key point in the “bottom-up” strategy, the purpose of which is to decode the information coming from the bottom. This model explains how information that comes in the form of audio signals is transformed. A balanced approach to choosing "top-down” or “bottom-up” strategy within the stages improves the process of forming competencies in listening to first-year studentsВ статье рассматриваются особенности применения подкастов в формировании компетентности в аудировании студентов-первокурсников. Авторами дается определение понятия "подкастинг" и раскрывается дидактический потенциал технологии подкастинга (доступность, аутентичность, информативность, актуальность, компетентность, автономность). Определены цели формирования речевой аудитивной компетентности студентов первого курса. Доказано, что подкасты, которые размещены на сайте Podcastsinenglish.com, имеют три уровня сложности и обеспечивают переход от уровня В1 к В2. Предоставляются характеристики с позиции таксономии подкаста: по типу, способа представления, продолжительности, автора, стиля, назначения. Авторами статьи предлагаются упражнения, разработанные на примере подкаста "CreatureComforts". Подробно охарактеризованы три этапа работы над подкастом: до прослушивания, прослушивание, после прослушивания. Целью этапа "До прослушивания" является введение студентов в контекст, устранение языковых трудностей, прогнозирования содержания. На этом этапе представлены рецептивно производительные, рецептивно репродуктивные коммуникативные и условно-коммуникативные упражнения без игрового компонента. Этап "Прослушивание" предусматривает собственно слушания подкаста дважды с целью получения общей и детальной информации. Авторами предлагаются рецептивно репродуктивные задания. На этапе "После прослушивания" все задания нацелены на реализацию принципа взаимосвязанного обучения видам речевой деятельности, а упражнения являются коммуникативными. Проанализированы стратегии аудирования "сверху вниз" (top-down) и "снизу вверх" (bottom-up) при разработке упражнений. Доказано использования стратегии "сверху вниз" в большинстве случаев, когда фоновые знания слушателя активируют его ожидания относительно содержания подкаста и помогают его спрогнозировать. Обоснована целесообразность применения разработанного комплекса упражнений, которые могут быть использованы в процессе формирования англоязычной аудитивной компетентности студентов-первокурсниковУ статті розглядаються особливості застосування подкастів у формуванні компетентності в аудіюванні у студентів-першокурсників. На цьому етапі представлено рецептивно-продуктивні, рецептивно-репродуктивні комунікативні та умовно-комунікативні вправи без ігрового компоненту. Етап “Прослуховування” передбачає власне слухання подкасту двічі з метою отримання загальної та детальної інформації. Авторами пропонуються рецептивно-репродуктивні завдання відповідно до мети аудіювання. На етапі“Після прослуховування” усі завдання націлені на реалізацію принципу взаємопов’язаного навчання видів мовленнєвої діяльності, а запропоновані авторами вправи є комунікативними. Проаналізовано стратегії аудіювання “зверху донизу” (top-down) та“знизу вгору” (bottom-up)при розробці вправ. Доведено здебільшого використання стратегії “зверху донизу”, коли фонові знання слухача активують його очікування щодо змісту подкасту та допомагають його спрогнозувати. Обґрунтовано доцільність застосування розробленого комплексу вправ, що можуть бути використані в процесі формування англомовної аудитивної компетентності студентів-першокурсникі

KONCEPCJA I REALIZACJA SYSTEMU PLECAKOWEGO DLA WIELOKANAŁOWEJ ELEKTROFIZJOLOGII U SWOBODNIE ZACHOWUJĄCYCH SIĘ GRYZONI

Technologies for multichannel electrophysiology are experiencing astounding growth. Numbers of channels reach thousands of recording sites, systems are often combined with electrostimulations and optic stimulations. However, the task of design the cheap, flexible system for freely behaving animals without tethered cable are not solved completely. We propose the system for multichannel electrophysiology for both rats and mice. The system allows to record unit activity and local field potential (LFP) up to 32 channels with different types of electrodes. The system was constructed using Intan technologies RHD 2132 chip. Data acquisition and recordings take place on the DAQ-card, which is placed as a back-pack on the animal. The signal is amplified with amplifier cascade and digitalized with 16-bit ADC. Instrumental filters allow to filter the signal in 0.1–20000 Hz bandwidth. The system is powered from the mini-battery with capacity 340 mA/hr. The system was validated with generated signals, in anaesthetized rat and showed a high quality of recordings.Technologie elektrofizjologii wielokanałowej odnotowują zdumiewający wzrost. Liczba kanałów dociera do tysięcy miejsc rejestracji, systemy często łączone są z elektrostymulacjami i stymulacjami optycznymi. Jednak zadanie zaprojektowania taniego, elastycznego systemu pozwalającego na swobodne zachowania zwierząt bez przywiązanego kabla nie zostało całkowicie rozwiązane. Zaproponowano system wielokanałowej elektrofizjologii zarówno dla szczurów, jak i myszy. System pozwala rejestrować aktywność jednostki i potencjał pola lokalnego (LFP) do 32 kanałów z różnymi rodzajami elektrod. System został zbudowany przy użyciu technologii Intan RHD 2132. Akwizycja danych i nagrania odbywają się na karcie DAQ, która została umieszczona w plecaku zwierzęcia. Sygnał jest wzmacniany kaskadą wzmacniaczy i digitalizowany za pomocą 16-bitowego przetwornika ADC. Filtry pozwalają filtrować sygnał w paśmie 0,1–20000 Hz. Zasilany jest z mini-baterii o wydajności 340 mA/godz. System został zwalidowany generowanymi sygnałami u znieczulonego szczura i wykazał wysoką jakość nagrań

Management mechanisms in the context of digitization of all spheres of society

Digitalization transforms public policy. It forms new models of public administration based on knowledge about the behavior of social groups. This study experimentally confirms the lack of impact of e-government and digitalization on the quality of life. It is proved that the new state policy is not aimed at ensuring socio-economic well-being, but the management of the collective consciousness of the masses. The economic benefits of digitization are insignificant. Digital policy provides a greater level of transparency in order to obtain its own benefits: the development of public-private partnerships, attracting investment in digital infrastructure, openness of digital governance.The article proves that the modernization of public policy under the influence of digitalization forms a new era of digital leadership

Formation of the investment environment in Ukraine in the context of European integration: an example of Poland

In the period of Ukraine’s integration into the European economic space, one of the basic conditions for achieving compliance with the European community requirements is the formation of favorable investment environment. In view of this, the aim of the article is to analyze the economic preconditions for the unification and adaptation of the investment mechanism in the period of Ukraine’s integration into the economic euro area, and to develop recommendations for unification of institutional support for the formation of the investment environment in Ukraine. In the course of the study, the system approach and the method of system analysis and synthesis are the basis. Based on the analysis of the activities in Poland, it is outlined that the conditions for their achievement of high rating indicators are the legally regulated mechanism for promoting investment, which includes relevant institutions, low tax rates, transparency and ease of doing business. The comparison made on this basis has made it possible to determine key differences and problems between approaches of European countries and Ukraine, namely: the lack of correspondence between the actual measures legally declared, the monetary unit instability, the unpredictability of the political and economic situation, the complexity of doing business. Approaches to unification of institutional support for the formation of the investment environment in Ukraine and measures aimed at increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of investment activity are proposed
