Redox Potentials as Reactivity Descriptors in Electrochemistry

A redox catalyst can be present in the solution phase or immobilized on the electrode surface. When the catalyst is present in the solution phase the process can proceed via inner- (with bond formation, chemical catalysis) or outer-sphere mechanisms (without bond formation, redox catalysis). For the latter, log k is linearly proportional to the redox potential of the catalysts, E°. In contrast, for inner-sphere catalyst, the values of k are much higher than those predicted by the redox potential of the catalyst. The behaviour of these catalysts when they are confined on the electrode surface is completely different. They all seem to work as inner-sphere catalysts where a crucial step is the formation of a bond between the active site and the target molecule. Plots of (log i)E versus E° give linear or volcano correlations. What is interesting in these volcano correlations is that the falling region corresponding to strong adsorption of intermediates to the active sites is not necessarily attributed to a gradual surface occupation of active sites by intermediates (Langmuir isotherm) but rather to a gradual decrease in the amount of M(II) active sites which are transformed into M(III)OH inactive sites due to the applied potential

Reingeniería de los procesos de gestión editorial para mejorar la productividad del proyecto Pleno - Editando S.A.

Esta tesis se centra principalmente, en el diseño de una metodología que permite realizar la reingeniería de los procesos de gestión editorial para mejorar la productividad del Proyecto Pleno en la empresa Editando S.A, ayudando a la gestión editorial en la definición y restructuración de sus procesos de manera de que se obtenga mejoras en el desarrollo del producto. El estudio fue realizado en cuatro fases, iniciando con un diagnostico interno que permitió identificar los procesos desarrollados en la gestión del proyecto editorial pleno y los principales reprocesos que se presentaron en la operatividad de los mismos; luego se realizó el análisis de la situación actual del proceso el cual se describe las principales causa-raíz de la baja productividad encontrada, como son la falta de una plan estratégico, control del proyecto en las operaciones e ineficiente flujo de información; el análisis de los procesos permitió desarrollar la propuesta de un nuevo proceso que se diferencia en aspectos como aplicación de controles a los procedimientos de tiempos de operación y manejo de presupuesto del proyecto, descentralización de la toma de decisiones e integración de los flujos de intercambio de información a una manera colaborativa. Finalmente, el diseño del nuevo proceso fue validado bajo un piloto, teniendo un resultado de impacto positivo a los procesos que nos permitió proponer una estimación más exacta del incremento de nivel de 30% en la productividad de las operaciones del desarrollo editorial, por último se estableció las conclusiones y recomendaciones de los beneficios favorables de la Reingeniería de procesos aplicados en la muestra de la investigación.The business opportunities in the digital era for the publishing industry not only brings the design of new products but also changes to their traditional production processes, forcing them to search for tools that best suit their needs and allow them to generate new agile processes to face the constant changes in the environment. Análisis del perfil del consumidor de la empresa Representaciones Bocanegra E. I. R. L. – Trujillo 2022

En la presente investigación detalla como objetivo principal determinar el perfil del consumidor de la empresa Representaciones Bocanegra E.I.R.L. en la ciudad de Trujillo, periodo 2022 ya que permitirá identificar la percepción, comportamiento y necesidad de compra del consumidor de la empresa. Se desarrolló mediante una investigación no experimental: descriptivo, se ejemplificará el tipo de consumidor a través de la información encontrada. Será una investigación cualitativa debido a que se requerirá instrumentos naturales, comportamientos que pueden ser observados y detalle de las características en los sujetos de estudio; y cuantitativa ya que se utilizarán datos de una encuesta. El propósito de las herramientas a usar como son: documentos, observación y encuesta; corroborarán la hipótesis que afirma la importancia de determinar el perfil del consumidor de la empresa Representaciones Bocanegra E.I.R.L. en la ciudad de Trujillo, periodo 2022. La cual tan solo será una hipótesis descriptiva debido a que se trabaja con una sola variable. Se obtuvo como principal conclusión que el perfil del consumidor de la empresa Representaciones Bocanegra es un vendedor mayorista entre 46 y 55 años, que cuenta con trasporte propio, acuden a comprar 2 o más veces por semana, disfruta de realizar sus compras en la tienda por los precios de los productos y trato hacia el cliente, conocen desde hace varios años a los dueños y siempre tienen planificado qué productos llevar, les gustaría que la empresa implemente nuevos métodos de pago y ofertas. La empresa siempre ha tenido consumidores recurrentes por lo que se convierten y se denominan clientes.In the present investigation, the main objective is to determine the consumer profile of the company Representaciones Bocanegra E.I.R.L. in the city of Trujillo, period 2022 since it will allow identifying the perception, behavior and need to purchase the company's consumer. Estudio de zonificación geotécnica en el Sector III del Centro Poblado El Milagro para el diseño de cimentaciones superficiales

En esta investigación titulada “ESTUDIO DE ZONIFICACIÓN GEOTÉCNICA EN EL SECTOR III DEL CENTRO POBLADO EL MILAGRO PARA EL DISEÑO DE CIMENTACIONES SUPERFICIALES”, se identificó que está zona perteneciente al Distrito de Huanchaco no cuenta con Estudios Básicos de Ingeniería. El objetivo principal de este estudio es el Mapeo de Zonificación Geotécnica en el Sector III del Centro Poblado El Milagro, en esta zona han emergido edificaciones de material rústico y noble construidas de una manera informal nos da a conocer que carecen de estudios para ello necesitamos realizar una investigación concisa para adquirir información geotécnica. Así mismo se desarrollará esta investigación de una manera minuciosa para que toda la información recolectada sea de uso referencial para los futuros proyectos de construcción. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación se buscó zonificar estratégicamente la ubicación de los pozos de extracción de muestras para posteriormente determinar sus propiedades físicas y mecánicas de este suelo extraído y determinar su capacidad de carga que presenta está zona y finalmente realizar un diseño de cimentaciones superficiales en el sector III de El Milagro. Electrocatalytic Self-Assembled Nanoarchitectonics for Clean Energy Conversion Applications

The general trends in the construction of highly active electrode devices are focused on the science of materials. These are useful for developing 2D nanostructured electrodes, with well-defined active sites, which are excellent approaches for understanding the fundamentals of electrocatalytic reactions. Here we present an overview of the experimental self-assembled molecular catalyst configurations to develop excellent electrode materials containing molecular catalysts for energy conversion device applications. First, by applying well-known reactivity descriptors for electrocatalysis, nanoarchitectonics, and the self-assembled concept, we summarize the main molecular building blocks to achieve a technology system for arranging by a rational design, nanoscale structural units configuration that promotes electrocatalytic reactions such as oxygen reaction reduction (ORR) and water-splitting reactions. We focus the discussion on the MN4 molecular catalyst linked to electrode surfaces with the help of the axial blocks, bio-inspired self-assembled approaches such as biomimetic models of metalloenzymes active sites, and molybdenum sulfide clusters for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). We briefly discuss the advantages of developing host-guest self-assembled molecular catalyst systems based on cyclodextrins anchored to electrodes to get well-defined active sites with local environment control

Proving ligand structure-reactivity correlation on multinuclear copper electrocatalysts supported on carbon black for the oxygen reduction reaction

Bioinspired transition-metal catalysts seek to mimic the specific active site of metalloenzymes, as the multicopper oxidase, that can efficiently reduce dioxygen to water via a complete 4-electrons mechanism at low overpotential. However, the multicopper oxidase enzymes lack stability under operando conditions, hampering their application in fuel cell electrodes. Bioinspired multicopper catalysts present a remarkable electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), where the structure and electronic properties of the ligands play a fundamental role. In this work, we explore the instantaneous catalytic activity and its evolution under operando conditions of two multicopper catalysts with different ligand flexibility, pyridyl ligand (CuL1), and pyridylmethyl ligand (CuL2), by conventional electrochemical techniques and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). Both catalysts present similar instantaneous electrocatalytic activity with no significant role of the ligand, but there is a change in the mechanism. While the rigidity of CuL1 reduces the dioxygen via direct 4e-, the catalyst with higher flexibility (CuL2) follows a 2e−x 2e− mechanism. The production of H2O2 as ORR byproduct evaluated by rotating ring-disk electrode (RRDE) and stability test evaluated under ORR operating conditions by SECM imaging of both catalysts demonstrated a higher decrease in catalytic activity and higher H2O2 production in CuL2 than in CuL1, which evidences a ligand structure-reactivity correlation. Influencia de la tutoría en el binomio docente-estudiante para evitar el abandono escolar

Problemática. El México en el año 2012, si se comparan el efecto en el abandono escolar, AE, en educación media superior, EMS, de diferentes factores, los tres factores que aumentan más el AE se relacionan al ámbito escolar (baja asistencia, reprobación, bajas calificaciones); “asistía siempre” no-78%, “nunca o alguna vez reprobó” no-78%, “promedio EMS alto” no-90%. Contexto. Este trabajo se desarrolló en la Escuela de Nivel Medio Superior Centro Histórico León, ENMSCHL, del Colegio del Nivel Medio Superior, CNMS, de la Universidad de Guanajuato, UG, desde el año 2009. Objetivo. Una de las labores del docente tutor, DT, es conciliar la actividad docente-estudiante para procurar que los estudiantes permanezcan en la Escuela observando la normatividad vigente. Líneas teóricas. Conforme a la dinámica escolar los coordinadores de área reúnen a los docentes respectivos para establecer los criterios de evaluación. Metodología. Mediante un instrumento se visualizan las materias con las cuales los estudiantes manifiestan más dificultad, así como algunos docentes involucrados con dicha dificultad, se plática en corto con los docentes con mayor índice de reprobación para retroalimentar las funciones sin afectar la libertad de cátedra. Resultados y Contribuciones. Mediante la influencia y la conciliación del tutor en la dinámica docente-estudiante auxilia a que se reduzca el AE

IFNAR2 relevance in the clinical outcome of individuals with severe COVID-19

Interferons (IFNs) are a group of cytokines with antiviral, antiproliferative, antiangiogenic, and immunomodulatory activities. Type I IFNs amplify and propagate the antiviral response by interacting with their receptors, IFNAR1 and IFNAR2. In COVID-19, the IFNAR2 (interferon alpha and beta receptor subunit 2) gene has been associated with the severity of the disease, but the soluble receptor (sIFNAR2) levels have not been investigated. We aimed to evaluate the association of IFNAR2 variants (rs2236757, rs1051393, rs3153, rs2834158, and rs2229207) with COVID-19 mortality and to assess if there was a relation between the genetic variants and/or the clinical outcome, with the levels of sIFNAR2 in plasma samples from hospitalized individuals with severe COVID-19. We included 1,202 subjects with severe COVID-19. The genetic variants were determined by employing Taqman® assays. The levels of sIFNAR2 were determined with ELISA in plasma samples from a subgroup of 351 individuals. The rs2236757, rs3153, rs1051393, and rs2834158 variants were associated with mortality risk among patients with severe COVID-19. Higher levels of sIFNAR2 were observed in survivors of COVID-19 compared to the group of non-survivors, which was not related to the studied IFNAR2 genetic variants. IFNAR2, both gene, and soluble protein, are relevant in the clinical outcome of patients hospitalized with severe COVID-19

Salud mental en docentes durante la pandemia : reflexiones en torno al género. Informe de Evidencia sobre Educación y Salud Mental, N° 3

A partir de la recopilación de datos de múltiples fuentes, el presente documento tiene como objetivo describir las afectaciones diferenciadas en la salud mental de las y los docentes durante el contexto de pandemia; también busca analizar cómo se ha dado la atención especializada a las necesidades de dicha población en los años 2020 y 2021. Analizar los efectos diferenciados de la pandemia resulta fundamental para destacar la vigencia de la brecha de género en nuestro país dentro de la comunidad docente, a fin de reflexionar sobre posibles lineamientos estratégicos en las políticas educativas que provean servicios de salud mental adecuados para las y los docentes de nuestro país
