Loyalty and longevity in audience listening: investigating experiences of attendance at a chamber music festival
There is currently much concern amongst arts organisations and their marketing departments that audiences for classical music are in decline, yet little research has so far investigated the experiences of long-term listeners for insight on audience development and retention. This paper presents a case study of the Music in the Round chamber music festival, conducted over a three year period which included the retirement of the host string quartet, the appointment of a new resident ensemble, and associated changes in audience attitudes and priorities. The interaction between individual listening and collective membership of an audience is discussed, and the potential considered for understanding classical concert-goers as âfansâ or âconsumersâ
Cartan Triples
We introduce the class of Cartan triples as a generalization of the notion of
a Cartan MASA in a von Neumann algebra. We obtain a one-to-one correspondence
between Cartan triples and certain Clifford extensions of inverse semigroups.
Moreover, there is a spectral theorem describing bimodules in terms of their
support sets in the fundamental inverse semigroup and, as a corollary, an
extension of Aoi's theorem to this setting. This context contains that of
Fulman's generalization of Cartan MASAs and we discuss his generalization in an

Constrained Dynamics of Universally Coupled Massive Spin 2-spin 0 Gravities
The 2-parameter family of massive variants of Einstein's gravity (on a
Minkowski background) found by Ogievetsky and Polubarinov by excluding lower
spins can also be derived using universal coupling. A Dirac-Bergmann
constrained dynamics analysis seems not to have been presented for these
theories, the Freund-Maheshwari-Schonberg special case, or any other massive
gravity beyond the linear level treated by Marzban, Whiting and van Dam. Here
the Dirac-Bergmann apparatus is applied to these theories. A few remarks are
made on the question of positive energy. Being bimetric, massive gravities have
a causality puzzle, but it appears soluble by the introduction and judicious

Does It Really Matter? Using Virtual Office Hours to Enhance Student-Faculty Interaction
The use of Web-based learning technologies has increased dramatically over the past decade providing new opportunities and avenues for students to interact with their professors virtually using computer-mediated communication (CMC) technologies. In this article, the authors share their experiences and findings with the use of virtual office hours as a medium for students to communicate with their professors using a Web 2.0 technology, namely Facebookâs instant messaging (IM) client. Participants in the study included both traditional and nontraditional undergraduate students enrolled in on-campus MIS courses at a public U.S. university in the southeast. The findings suggest that studentsâ use of virtual office hours is not significantly different from their use of traditional office hours; however, participants in classes that offered virtual office hours reported higher levels of satisfaction with office hours than students in classes that offered only traditional face-to-face office hours. Implications for faculty designing courses using virtual office hours as a teaching and learning tool are discussed
Leadership Roles in the Field of Occupational Therapy
The purpose of this capstone project was to learn about leadership through expertise and experience. The first portion of the project consisted of reviewing the literature and interviewing four occupational therapists that currently had a leadership role within the healthcare industry to gain insight into leadership qualities. The second potion included me being at a facility (Advent Therapy in Richmond Hill, G.A.) for 14 weeks where I observed and learned about current programs, and with the guidance of the therapists and management of the facility, developed and implemented a program that was deemed to be beneficial to the client population.https://soar.usa.edu/otdcapstonespring2020/1005/thumbnail.jp
Storm hazards '79: F-106B operations summary
Preliminary flight tests with a F-106B aircraft were made on the periphery of isolated thunder cells using weather radar support. In addition to storm hazards correlation research, a direct-strike lightning measurement experiment and an atmospheric chemistry experiment were conducted. Two flights were made to close proximity to lightning generating cumulonimbus clouds; however, no direct lightning strikes were experienced. Universally Coupled Massive Gravity
We derive Einstein's equations from a linear theory in flat space-time using
free-field gauge invariance and universal coupling. The gravitational potential
can be either covariant or contravariant and of almost any density weight. We
adapt these results to yield universally coupled massive variants of Einstein's
equations, yielding two one-parameter families of distinct theories with spin 2
and spin 0. The Freund-Maheshwari-Schonberg theory is therefore not the unique
universally coupled massive generalization of Einstein's theory, although it is
privileged in some respects. The theories we derive are a subset of those found
by Ogievetsky and Polubarinov by other means. The question of positive energy,
which continues to be discussed, might be addressed numerically in spherical
symmetry. We briefly comment on the issue of causality with two observable
metrics and the need for gauge freedom and address some criticisms by
