Body and soul dualism, in its various interpretations, has had an enourmousinfluence on the Western culture. Starting from a review of the critical issuesthat characterized the process around which philosophical researchhas developed, the reflection conducted in this work aims to achieve a keyobjective. It wants to point out the positivity of the educational contributionsof the science of human movement: it has allowed to recover themodern notion of “body”, by anchoring it to the values of the care for thewell-being of the person and of society.

Physical education allows children to develop motor skills, but it has an impact on affective domain too. The aim of this study was to analyse the effects of two different teaching approaches on the levels of enjoyment of 9-year-old pupils who attended the fourth grade of the primary school. A pre- post- repost design was used as a mean of a longitudinal study. The participants involved were divided into two groups: Teaching skill group (TS) and Teaching games group (TGM). The TS group followed a protocol using the traditional skill-based approach, while the TGM group followed the Tactical Game Model approach, highlighting tactical problems and awareness. The level of enjoyment was assessed by administering the PACES questionnaire. The results show no statistically significant difference, but it can be seen that the TGM group had a more positive trend in enjoyment levels than the TS group. Furthermore, carrying out an analysis by gender it was seen that the females of the TGM group had increases in the scores on the positive scale in the post intervention. In this respect, the physical education teacher has to account for affective learning outcomes when they identify the teaching methods for their courses

1 versus 1 in football after 20 years

The new millennium was marked by the epic of the legendary Barcelona of Guardiola, the coach who revolutionized the world of football with his tiki taka. This game is made of fast ball exchanges, continuous changes of position and search for the free space to occupy but it has downgraded the dribbling, that is one of the main technical skills of the game of football. Starting from football schools, it almost seems that 1vs1 has been set aside to favour other fundamental techniques, so we find ourselves in a period where fewer and fewer players take the responsibility to try a bet in 1v1, but prefer to pass the ball to the closest mate. This research has analysed the goals of final stages of two World cup (the most football event),20 years later, Russian 2018 and France 1998 and has demonstrated that in 20 years, the incidence of goals scored after a dribble influenced by the action has decreased of 10%. From the round of 16 onwards of Russian 2018 have been scored 47 goals, whose 8 after an influential dribbling (17%). In France 1998 have been scored 45 goals, 12 with an influential dribbling (27%). The world of football should be open to new revolutions, without ignore none of basic skills to a player's growth

Scientific literature highlighted gender differences in spatial orientation. In particular, men and women differ in terms of the navigational processes they use in daily life. Scientific literature highlighted that women use analytical strategies while men tend to use holistic strategies. Furthermore, studies exploring gender differences in self-reported dream perspectives reported that women dream mainly in first person and men mainly in third person. This work used Vividness of Movement Imagery Questionnaire-2 to verify if gender differences in perspective taking last also in motor imagery practice. The aim of VVIQ2 questionnaire is to determine the vividness of movement imagery. In the VVIQ2, the image can be obtained watching oneself while performing the movement from an external point of view (External Visual Imagery), or from an internal point of view, as if you were looking out through your own eyes while performing the movement (Internal Visual Imagery). The Questionnaire was administered to students of Sports Sciences Degree from University of Salerno

Estimation of biogas produced by the landfill of Palermo, applying a Gaussian model

    Get PDF
In this work, a procedure is suggested to assess the rate of biogas emitted by the Bellolampo landfill (Palermo, Italy), starting from the data acquired by two of the stations for monitoring meteorological parameters and polluting gases. The data used refer to the period November 2005–July 2006. The methane concentration, measured in the CEP suburb of Palermo, has been analysed together with the meteorological data collected by the station situated inside the landfill area. In the present study, the methane has been chosen as a tracer of the atmospheric pollutants produced by the dump. The data used for assessing the biogas emission refer to night time periods characterized by weak wind blowing from the hill toward the city. The methane rate emitted by the Bellolampo dump has been evaluated using a Gaussian model and considering the landfill both as a single point source and as a multiple point one. The comparison of the results shows that for a first approximation it is sufficient to consider the landfill of Palermo as a single point source. Starting from the monthly percentage composition of the biogas, estimated for the study period, the rate of biogas produced by the dump was evaluated. The total biogas produced by the landfill, obtained as the sum of the emitted component and the recovered one, ranged from 7519.97 to 10,153.7 m 3 /h. For the study period the average monthly estimations of biogas emissions into the atmosphere amount to about 60% of the total biogas produced by the landfill, a little higher than the one estimated by the com- pany responsible for the biogas recovery plant at the landfill

Eurydice survey (2013) provides the opportunity to examine the current status of physical education teaching. It gives an opportunity to make a reflection on the role and function of physical education in schools in Europe and, later, in American, Australian and Canadian schools. This comparative evaluation brings out the lack of uniformity of educational strategies, in relation to contents, methodologies, time and place, and the need for a physical education teaching quality, because physical education at school is cannot an optional and underestimated teaching with a recreational value or only excercise. Physical education teaching has to enable the individual to achieve different skills in order to strengthen the autonomy and the promotion of well-being in a lifecourse perspective.L’indagine Eurydice 2013 offre la possibilità di esaminare un quadro di insieme sull’attuale stato dell’insegnamento dell’educazione fisica1.

Adequate development of fundamental motor skills (FMS) is one of the requirements for achieving an active life and for supporting the acquisition of high physical, cognitive and social efficiency in children. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of an exergames-based physical educationprogram for supporting the development of the balance skills developmentallevels in a sample of primary school children (experimental group). The programhas been defined by choosing games geared to the global enhancement of motorskills abilities. Concurrently, twenty-nine (control group) children were involved in physical education lessons based on free and sports games activities. The current study investigated whether the effects produced by the exergames-based program were gender-related. The experimental protocol showed positive results with significant evidences in terms of effects especially in girls. These results seem to confirm the validity of these technologies for supporting the physical education teachers and extend the current the scientific literature because they describe the effects od that king of program on balance skills in primary school children.

The World Health Organization pointed out the school as a valid aid for fighting against the problems of overweight and obesity since these are widely shared among childhood and adolescence. In this respect, the physical education courses feel with a relevant role. According to Le Bouch, Arnold, and Gardner, this subject has to promote teaching and learning experiences in order to support the overall development of each child. Moreover, this subject has to claim its relevance within the school by overcoming the current low levels of appeal and interest among students. Of note, the use of emerging technologies might be a valid support for this aim if these technologies are integrating in the curriculum according to specific theoretical frameworks. Among these technologies, the exergames are a digital games combining exercise with game play and they are several characteristicsadequate for the physical education context. In this respect, the purpose of this study was to provide a reflection on the use of these digital aids following the vicarious learning model and the socio cognitive theory.L’OMS ha dichiarato che la scuola riveste un ruolo privilegiato per contrastare i fenomeni dell’obesità e del sovrappeso, soprattutto nel periodo compreso tra l’infanzia e l’adolescenza.

Technological development in recent times has had a rapid spread in various sports to have an improvement in equipment, training methods and performance of athletes through the use of tools. Although in volleyball a good use of video analysis is expected, it is not connected with other technologies. Previous studies have shown that the use of the technological tool, Power Glowe, is able to collect information on force, precision, time impact and direction of the hit when jumping and on the ground. The purpose of the study is to connect and compare the functions of video analysis with those related to the Power Glowe with the actual data on strength, speed, accuracy and tests to assess the effectiveness of the service on a sample divided into 2 groups of female athletes, one from 12 to 16 years and the other from 18 to 26 years old with the aim of comparing the data recruited in a different way. In conclusion, we want to integrate individual methods of data recruitment to optimize the analysis and consequently the evaluation
