    Development of Electrochemical Sensors for the Detection of Trace Contaminants

    Several industrial processes, such as stainless steel fabrication and textiles, produce heavy metal byproducts such as chromium. These heavy metals have detrimental effects on the surrounding environments and humans. Recently, electrochemical-driven sensors have been studied and show great potential in miniaturization while still providing measurements at a low cost. In addition, atomically thin allotropes of carbon, graphene, and graphene oxide have shown remarkable results in producing a highly responsive and selective sensor platform. These results are due to their excellent electrical conductivity, high surface area for utility, and physicochemical stability. The existing challenge for electrochemical-driven sensors is understanding the molecular level\u27s relationship between microstructures and chemical affinities. In this work, the research efforts are to understand the relation structure-property-function to comprehend reaction kinetics better and identify the rate-limiting steps. Experimental results from interdigitated micro-comb chips deposited with nanocomposite electrodes will be presented under different electrolytes and varying concentrations.     Isolation and determination of Vibrio spp. pathogen from Sciaenops ocellatus suffering from hemorrhagic disease under cage culture in Vietnam

    This study was carried out to isolate and determine the Vibrio spp. from the Red drum fish (Sciaenops ocellatus) suffering from the hemorrhagic disease in Vietnam.  In this study, 18 strains of Vibrio bacteria were identified from 27 samples of Red drum fish. The isolated bacterial strains were identified with the 16S rRNA sequencing method and checked for morphological, physiological, and biochemical characteristics by using the API 20E KIT. Results of the study revealed the presence of twelve strains of V. alginolyticus, three strains of V. fluvialis, and three strains of V. orientalis. All Vibrio strains have gene similarities with those on the Genbank ranging from 98.05 to 100%. The biochemical characteristics of these 18 isolates were similar and these are susceptible to tetracycline and doxycycline and entirely resistant to ampicillin, amoxicillin, and erythromycin

    An Online Distributed Boundary Detection and Classification Algorithm for Mobile Sensor Networks

    We present a novel online distributed boundary detection and classification algorithm in order to improve accuracy of boundary detection and classification for mobile sensor networks. This algorithm is developed by incorporating a boundary detection algorithm and our newly proposed boundary error correction algorithm. It is a fully distributed algorithm based on the geometric approach allowing to remove boundary errors without recursive process and global synchronization. Moreover, the algorithm allows mobile nodes to identify their states corresponding to their positions in network topologies, leading to self-classification of interior and exterior boundaries of network topologies. We have demonstrated effectiveness ofthis algorithm in both simulation and real-world experiments and proved that the accuracy of the ratio of correctly identified nodes over the total number of nodes is 100%

    Performance of multi-hop cognitive MIMO relaying networks with joint constraint of intercept probability and limited interference

    In this paper, we propose a multi-hop multiple input multiple output (MIMO) decode-and-forward relaying protocol in cognitive radio networks. In this protocol, a multi-antenna secondary source attempts to send its data to a multi-antenna secondary destination with assistance of multiple intermediate multi-antenna nodes, in presence of a multi-antenna secondary eavesdropper. A primary network includes a primary transmitter and a primary receiver which are equipped with multiple antennas, and use transmit antenna selection (TAS) and selection combining (SC) to communicate with each other. Operating on the underlay spectrum sharing method, the secondary source and relay nodes have to adjust their transmit power so that the outage performance of the primary network is not harmful and satisfy the quality of service (QoS). Moreover, these secondary nodes also reduce their transmit power so that the intercept probability (IP) at the eavesdropper at each hop is below a desired value. To improve the outage performance of the secondary network under the joint constraint of IP and limited interference, the TAS/SC method is employed to relay the source data hop-by-hop to the destination. We derived exact closed-form expressions of the end-to-end (e2e) outage probability (OP) and IP of the proposed protocol over Rayleigh fading channels. Monte Carlo simulations are then performed to verify the theoretical derivations

    The experience of using e-commerce platforms affects the online purchase intention of customers in the FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) sector in Hanoi city

    In recent times, the Vietnamese e-commerce market is in a period of strong development, in addition, to the sharp increase in people’s demands to join e-commerce platforms after the epidemic. The research group started with an overview study, then research hypotheses and models were proposed. After conducting preliminary qualitative and quantitative research to adjust the appropriate scales, the research group created a questionnaire and collected data in online forms with a sample size of 350. Next, the data was entered into the software for SEM analysis. The results of the study indicate that the quality of the e-commerce platform has an indirect impact on the purchase intention through the positive impact on the trust and the negative impact on the perceived risk. Attitudes towards information, trust, perceived risk, and perceived usefulness have direct influences on purchase intention. Attitude towards information, trust, and perceived usefulness have positive effects on purchase intention, while perceived risk harms purchase intention. In addition, purchase intention is relatively strongly influenced by trust and perceived usefulness. Perceived risk and attitude towards information have little influence on purchase intention. Finally, the research team proposes some solutions for businesses to increase the purchase intention of consumers through e-commerce platforms. &nbsp

    The acceptance of mobile applications for accommodation booking in Vietnam: Case of gen Z

    The development of technology and smart mobile devices such as phones and tablets has changed the behavior of tourists when booking tourism services. Based on the technology acceptance model, this study aims to explore the factors influencing the intention to use mobile applications for accommodation booking among GENZ in Vietnam. The analysis of 218 users revealed that four factors influence the behavior of using mobile applications for booking: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and hedonic motivation. In addition to identifying the factors affecting usage intention, this study also proposes implications to assist developers and providers in improving their applications and developing suitable product strategies for the future

    EFFECTS OF SUBSTITUENTS ON CH BOND DISSOCIATION ENTHALPIES OF ENT-KAURANE DITERPENOIDS: A DFT STUDY

    C-H bond dissociation enthalpies (BDEs) of seven ent-kaurane diterpenoids extracted from Croton tonkinensis Gagnep. have been investigated by using density functional theory (DFT) method. The calculations were performed at the M05-2X/6-31+G(d) level of theory. Additionally, insight into the effects of different substituents including –NH2, –OH, –NO2, –SH, –CN, –Cl, –CONH2, –CH-(CH3)2, –NHCOCH3, –OCOCH3 and –C2H5 on BDE have also been provided. The results showed that the BDE value of ent-16(S)-18-acetoxy-7b-hydroxykaur-15-one compound is lowest, being 83.5 kcal/mol. Among substituents binding at C16 position of this molecule, –NH2 has the most remarkable influence on the BDE (C-H) value. Indeed, the BDE of C16-H significantly decreases from 83.5 to 68.4 kcal/mol when replacing –CH3 group by –NH2 one at the C16 position. The obtained results may provide more information for organic synthesis of ent-kaurane based – novel antioxidant compounds

    Experiment and FEM Modelling of Bond Behaviors between Pre-stressing Strands and Ultra–High–Performance Concrete

    The objective of this paper is to investigate the bond properties of prestressing strands embedded in Ultra–High–Performance Concrete (UHPC).The UHPC was made in laboratory using local materials in Vietnam.Its mixture contains: silica aggregates, portland cement PC40, fly ash, silica fume, polycarboxylate superplasticizer and the micro steel fibers.The experimental process is realized on a pull-out test. The volume fraction of micro steel fibers in UHPC was 2%. The prestressing strand with diameters of 15.2mm was considered. The interface shear strength between strand and UHPC is identified based on the results of force and displacement obtained during the pull-out test. The Cohesive Zone Model (CZM) is implemented in finite element model to study this interface behavior. This model described by a piecewise linear elastic law. The CZM’s parameters are identified based on experimental results of pull-out test.The numerical studies are used the CZM in ANSYS software. Two numerical tests are realized and compared with experimental results: pull-out test and other test to verify the deflection of I girder due to prestressing force
