Zeus y Antíope : consideraciones sobre el tema representado en un mosaico de la "Villa" de Torre de Benagalbón (rincón de la Victoria, Málaga)

En una uilla romana que ha sido motivo de una excavación arqueológica de urgencia el año 2003 y que se localiza al borde de la antigua CN. 340 en el sitio de la Torre de Benagalbón en el término municipal de Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga), aparece un emblema figurado que reproduce el mito de Zeus metamorfoseado en sátiro en el acto de enamorar a la bella Antíope. Las dos figuras que representan a ambos personajes van acompañadas de las correspondientes leyendas explicativas SATYR y ANTIOPA. Notas sobre algunas antiguas investigaciones arqueológicas en Carteia

Se refieren aquí las diversas investigaciones arqueológicas que se han hecho en Carteia y especialmente el casual hallazgo en el mes de octubre de 1927 en las cercanías de Puente Mayorga (San Roque, Cádiz) de un sarcófago. Tras el descubrimiento, don Evaristo Ramos Cadenas realizó una serie de excavaciones arqueológicas en aquel lugar que se describen de modo historiográfico en este artículo; aquellos descubrimientos deben corresponder a una de las necrópolis de la antigua ciudad de Carteia, en la bahía de Algeciras.In October 1927 Mr. Evaristo Ramos Cadenas casually found a roman sarcophagus in the garden of his own house in Puente Mayorga (San Roque, Cádiz). When word of his discovery he made archaeological excavations in the site. This article is an essay that analyses the differents archaeological discoveries in a necropolis from the ancient city of Carteia in the Bay of Algeciras and other several archaeological excavations conducted in the past

Unas inscripciones funerarias de "Lacipo" (Casares, Málaga) que evocan el establecimiento en "Carteia" (San Roque, Cádiz) de la "Colonia Latina Libertinorum"

En el Conjunto Arqueológico de Carteia (San Roque, Cádiz) y en los fondos del Museo Arqueológico de Málaga que aún permanecen en La Alcazaba islámica de esta ciudad, se conservan dos inscripciones funerarias de época imperial que se hallaron en el yacimiento arqueológico de Alechipe, cerca de Casares (Málaga), lugar en donde estuvo la ciudad romana de Lacipo. Ambos epígrafes se refieren a personajes de la familia Canuleia, un gentilicio no muy común y cuya presencia en una localidad antigua tan cercana a Carteia sugiere la posibilidad de que aquellas gentes fueran descendientes de los primeros colonos de la Colonia Latina Libertinorum que el pretor Lucius Canuleius estableció en esa antigua ciudad de la bahía de Algeciras en la temprana fecha del año 171 a.C.Roman inscriptions found in Lacipo (Casares, Málaga) remind us of settelment of Carteia Colonia Latina Libertinorum. Two Roman inscriptions previously found at Lacipo (Casares, Málaga) and now exhibited one in the Alcazaba arqueological site in Málaga and the other in the Roman remains Carteia (San Roque, Cádiz) remind us of the famous historical event of the fundation of Colonia Latina Libertinorum (Livy, XLIII, 3)

On the extension of LES methods from incompressible to compressible turbulent flows with application to turbulent channel flow

Our research team has implemented and tested several LES models over the past years for the incompressible regimen. In order to be able to solve complex turbulent compressible flows, the models are revisited and modified if necessary. In addition, the performance of the implemented hybrid advection scheme is an issue of interest for the numerical simulation of turbulent compressible flows. Multi-layered solid-PCM thermocline thermal storage concept for CSP plants. Numerical analysis and perspectives

Thermocline storage concept has been considered for more than a decade as a possible solution to reduce the huge cost of the storage system in concentrated solar power (CSP) plants. However, one of the drawbacks of this concept is the decrease in its performance throughout the time. The objective of this paper is to present a new thermocline-like storage concept, which aims at circumventing this issue. The proposed concept consists of a storage tank filled with a combination of solid material and encapsulated PCMs, forming a multi-layered packed bed, with molten salt as the heat transfer fluid. The performance evaluation of each of the prototypes proposed is virtually tested by means of a detailed numerical methodology which considers the heat transfer and fluid dynamics phenomena present in these devices. The virtual tests carried out are designed so as to take into account several charging and discharging cycles until periodic state is achieved, i.e. when the same amount of energy is stored/released in consecutive charging/discharging cycles. As a result, the dependence of the storage capacity on the PCMs temperatures, the total energy and exergy stored/released, as well as the efficiencies of the storing process are compared for the different thermocline, single PCM, cascaded PCM and the proposed multi-layered solid-PCM (MLSPCM) configurations. The analysis shows that the multi-layered solid-PCM concept is a promising alternative for thermal storage in CSP plants.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author’s final draft

Víctor Sánchez Gil que la revista Carthaginensia, de la que fuera su director-fundador, le dedica con motivo de su jubilación como docente del Instituto Teológico de Murcia OFM. Una vida intensa y extensa en el ámbito de la investigación, docencia y publicaciones, amén de director de relevantes proyectos e instituciones al servicio de la Orden y de su Provincia franciscana de Cartagena. Abstract: We present the bio-bibliographic profile of Professor F. Víctor Sánchez Gil, the founder-director of Carthaginensia Review.
