    The prevalence of cardiovascular disease risk factors in patients from Croatian Zagorje County treated at Department of Medicine, Zabok General Hospital from 2000 to 2006

    The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of risk factors for cardiovascular disease in patients treated for coronary heart disease (CHD) at Department of Medicine, Zabok General Hospital during the 2000-2006 period. Cardiovascular diseases are a group of diseases that occur due to arterial. The risk factors that lead to the development and occurrence of cardiovascular disease are hypertension, cigarette smoking, hyperholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, diabetes mellitus and positive family history. Additional factors favoring the occurrence of cardiovascular disease include overweight, inadequate physical activity, and emotional stress. Data on all patients hospitalized and diagnosed with CHD at Department of Medicine, Zabok General Hospital during the 2000-2006 period were analyzed for the prevalence of risk factors for CHD, i.e. hypertension, cigarette smoking, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, diabetes mellitus and positive family history of cardiovascular disease. Hypercholesterolemia was defined by a cholesterol level higher than 5.1 mmol/L, hypertension from history data and blood pressure measurement on admission greater than 140/90 mmHg, diabetes mellitus from history data, and hypertriglyceridemia by a triglyceride level greater than 1.7 mmol/L. Information on heredity and cigarette smoking was collected from history and a questionnaire filled out on admission. All laboratory values were determined on patient admission to the hospital. Analysis of the risk factors for CHD recorded in patients from Zagorje County during the 2000-2006 period revealed hypertension to be the most common risk factor in our patients. According to sex, CHD was found to show a male preponderance. According to age at admission, CHD predominated in the > 70 age group, which accounted for one third of all patients, followed by a comparable proportion of the 50-60 and 60-70 age groups, i.e. still active population groups. As CHD is one of the leading health threats worldwide, estimated to remain so at least by 2020, it is fully justified to invest all efforts in the study of cardiovascular disease. New research projects should be focused on the prevention and early detection of the disease, improvement of diagnosis procedures, introduction of novel therapeutic options, use of new concepts, and due survey of the measures taken. CHD poses great socioeconomic burden upon every community in industrialized societies because of the ever younger age at onset. Actions should be taken to improve awareness of the CHD risks and morbidity in the population at large, stimulating favorable lifestyle and dietary modifications, and one's own health awareness, in order to upgrade the control of risk factors for and morbidity of cardiovascular disease

A previous research on shape and size of initial geometrical imperfections is briefly summarized.     La syntaxe comparative des connecteurs argumentatifs – l’exemple du couple français-tchèque

    The paper deals with the syntactic features of textual connectives in the contemporary French and Czech language. The study is a comparative one. The argumentative connectives are lexical units that participate on the text structuration and mark the argumentative orientation of the constituents they connect. Being defined on the basis of textual criteria, the units we include to the category issue from different morphosyntactic classes – conjunctions of subordination, conjunctions of coordination, adverbials. Although these classes present in French and in Czech some different distributional features, their accumulation in one clause is ruled by the same principles that operate on the level of the logical form.The paper deals with the syntactic features of textual connectives in the contemporary French and Czech language. The first part introduces the basic principles and methods of 3D printing technology and outlines current developments in this area. V dalším kroku je vysvětlena konfigurace MPLS jádra jako nosného protokolu pro obě technologie. Druhá část se zaměřuje na jednotlivé protokoly, které můžou být přenášeny přes MPLS jádro. Všechny protokoly jsou zde popsány, jsou zobrazeny jejich rámce, zapouzdření do MPLS a uvedeny realizace jednotlivých zapojení. Třetí část popisuje technologii VPLS, její význam a chování. Je zde uvedená základní konfigurace. Dále se práce v této části zaměřuje na návrh zapojení. Zkráceně je popsán hierarchický model, který umožňuje lépe škálovatelnost technologie.This diploma thesis focuses on the description of AtoM and VPLS technologies. The first part describes AtoM technology and device that are used for this function. The next step explains the configuration of MPLS core as the carrier protocol for the both technologies. The second part deals with the individual protocols that can be transported via MPLS core. This includes the description of all the protocols, their frames, encapsulation into MPLS and their suggestion of topology of network. The third part describes VPLS technology, its importance and behaviour. It also includes the initial configuration. The diploma thesis focuses here on the topology of network.     Import 29/09/2010Bakalářská práce se zabývá konstrukčním návrhem šroubového zvedáku poháněného ručně přes kuželové soukolí. V práci jsou uvedeny potřebné výpočty prvků sloužících pro správnou funkci zvedáku. Konkrétně se jedná o návrh a výpočet pohybového šroubu, určení rozměrů matice a kontrolu zvedajícího ústrojí na vzpěr. Poté jsou určeny parametry pro výpočet a kontrolu ozubeného soukolí. Je proveden výpočet kroutících a ohybových momentů u šroubu a hřídele pastorku. Dále je zvolen vhodný typ páky, navrhnuto pero a zkontrolován kritický průřez pod ním. Na závěr jsou navrhnuta a zkontrolována ložiska. Součástí práce je sestava šroubového zvedáku spolu s výrobním výkresem pastorku.The bachelor thesis deals with engineering design of hand driven screw jack using bevel gears. There are all necessary calculations of elements servant for the right function of screw jack included in this thesis. It is specifically a suggestion and calculation of kinetic screw, a diagnosis of proportions of matrix and a verification of lifting mechanism on buckling. After that, the parameters for calculation and verification of gear-set are determined. Calculations of torsion and flexural torques of screw and pinion gear's shaft are mentioned. Consequently, the correct type of bar is chosen, slip feather is suggested and critical cross section, placed below it, is verified. In the end, bearings are suggested and verified.     Heat processes in non-equilibrium stochastic systems

    This thesis is devoted to the theoretical study of slow thermodynamic processes in non-equilibrium stochastic systems. Its main result is a physically and mathematically consistent construction of relevant thermodynamic quantities in the quasistatic limit for a large class of non-equilibrium models. As an application of general methods a natural non-equilibrium generalization of heat capacity is introduced and its properties are analyzed in detail, including an anomalous far-from-equilibrium behavior. The developed methods are further applied to the related problem of time-scale separation where they enable to describe the effective dynamics of both slow and fast degrees of freedom in a more precise way.Comment: 178 pages, 19 figures, 2 tables, PHD thesis; defended in October 2013 at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Pragu

    V součastnosti bezdrátové optické komunikace (optical wireless communication, OWC) získávají širokou pozornost jako vhodný doplněk ke komunikačním přenosům v rádiovém pásmu. OWC nabízejí několik výhod včetně větší šířky přenosového pásma, neregulovaného frekvenčního pásma či odolnosti vůči elektromagnetickému rušení. Tato práce se zabývá návrhem OWC systémů pro připojení koncových uživatelů. Samotná realizace spojení může být provedena za pomoci různých variant bezdrátových technologií, například pomocí OWC, kombinací různých OWC technologií nebo hybridním rádio-optickým spojem. Za účelem propojení tzv. poslední míle je analyzován optický bezvláknový spoj (free space optics, FSO). Tato práce se dále zabývá analýzou přenosových vlastností celo-optického více skokového spoje s důrazem na vliv atmosférických podmínek. V dnešní době mnoho uživatelů tráví čas ve vnitřních prostorech kanceláří či doma, kde komunikace ve viditelném spektru (visible light communication, VLC) poskytuje lepší přenosové parametry pokrytí než úzce směrové FSO. V rámci této práce byla odvozena a experimentálně ověřena závislost pro bitovou chybovost přesměrovaného (relaying) spoje ve VLC. Pro propojení poskytovatele datavých služeb s koncovým uživatelem může být výhodné zkombinovat více přenosových technologií. Proto je navržen a analyzovám systém pro překonání tzv. problému poslední míle a posledního metru kombinující hybridní FSO a VLC technologie.The field of optical wireless communications (OWC) has recently attracted significant attention as a complementary technology to radio frequency (RF). OWC systems offer several advantages including higher bandwidth, an unregulated spectrum, resistance to electromagnetic interference and a high order of reusability. The thesis focuses on the deployment and analyses of end-user interconnections using the OWC systems. Interconnection can be established by many wireless technologies, for instance, by a single OWC technology, a combination of OWC technologies, or by hybrid OWC/RF links. In order to establish last mile outdoor interconnection, a free-space optical (FSO) has to be investigated. In this thesis, the performance of all-optical multi-hop scenarios is analyzed under atmospheric conditions. However, nowadays, many end users spend much time in indoor environments where visible light communication (VLC) technology can provide better transmission parameters and, significantly, better coverage. An analytical description of bit error rate for relaying VLC schemes is derived and experimentally verified. Nonetheless, for the last mile, interconnection of a provider and end users (joint outdoor and indoor connection) can be advantageous when combining multiple technologies. Therefore, a hybrid FSO/VLC system is proposed and analyzed for the interconnection of the last mile and last meter bottleneck

To familiarize readers with the basic materials that are necessary for production of iron and history of procedurs that were and are important for the quality of the material . Another aim is to describe the basic furnaces and forges, which were used during this time and are still used.
