Solutions of half-linear differential equations in the classes Gamma and Pi

    Get PDF
We study asymptotic behavior of (all) positive solutions of the non-oscillatory half-linear differential equation of the form (r(t)|y'|^ {alpha-1} sgn y')'=p(t)|y|^{alpha-1}sgn y, where alpha>1 and r,p are positive continuous functions, with the help of the Karamata theory of regularly varying functions and the de Haan theory. We show that increasing resp. decreasing solutions belong to the de Haan class Gamma resp. Gamma- under suitable assumptions. Further we study behavior of slowly varying solutions for which asymptotic formulas are established. Some of our results are new even in the linear case alpha=2

This report contains overview of annual workshop on Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) which took place in Sofia (Bulgaria), 17-18th of September, 2008. The workshop is targeted the technological responsible persons from the member state administrations. This year workshop ¿LPIS applications and quality¿ aimed to identify and discuss the key technological issues and examples of solutions that are relevant for operating a LPIS in the environment of administration and control system for direct payments to the European farmers in the framework of the CAP. The topics covered during the workshop included: geomatics aspects of the LPIS; data quality issues with a focus on quality management and quality policy; interaction of LPIS applications with control process and monitoring of the rural development measures; country status reports, in particular focusing on ¿lessons learnt¿ during completion of LPIS in Bulgaria and Romania as well as pilot project of LPIS creation in Croatia.JRC.G.3-Agricultur

Alkaline Fly-Ash Cements and concretes, influence of care on early stage of hardening

There are a lot of not well investigated processes in alkaline fly-ash cement technology. Among them the role o f fly-ash type and type o f alkaline component in structure formation processes in different stages, new phases formation and connected with this properties of cements and concretes, including corrosion resistant, durability and other. It was necessarry to investigave influence of concrete care curing, humidity temperature on properties of fly ash-alkaline concrete, on their early stage strength, stability and possibility to self-destruction.Also, it is important to now about strength development o f different types o f alkaline fly-ash cements and concretes on their base in time and special properties o f such material, especially m case of investigation possibility to uncover fresh concrete surface

Assessment of morphophysiological features of rice samples in flooding conditions

The article presents the results of a morphophysiological assessment of rice samples by the strength of growth, as well as an assessment of the degree of development of the conducting system of the flag leaves of rice plants. The resistance of varieties to flooding is very relevant in the fight against weeds due to the deep layer of water that weeds cannot overcome. Currently, there are no zoned varieties in Russia that would meet these requirements. Therefore, the problem of creating such rice varieties is urgent, as it will reduce production costs, reduce grain losses during harvesting, improve the quality of the products obtained, and also reduce the pesticide load on the ecosystem. As a result of research, a number of studied samples revealed the potential to quickly lengthen the first leaves, overcome a large layer of water and accumulate vegetative mass. As a result of the evaluation of the conducting system of the flag leaf of rice plants, it was found that in plants with the flood resistance gene Sub1A, which stops growth under water, the conductive beams were smaller in comparison with other fast-growing samples with the AG, Sk genes. Consequently, fast-growing samples have bigger sizes of the conducting system as a resistance mechanism
