Glycosylated hemoglobin as an efficacious tool for early prediction of gestational diabetes mellitus
The incidence and prevalence of GDM is on the rise worldwide and, more so in developing countries including India. GDM is associated with maternal, fetal and neonatal morbidities. Current guidelines recommend GDM screening only at 24-28 weeks of gestation. Diagnosis of GDM in later half of pregnancy leads to fetal and maternal morbidities in spite of good glycemic control. This necessitates the use of a simpler, convenient, accurate, and reliable test, which can predict GDM in early gestation. Our article reviews the scope of using HbA1c for GDM and its efficacy in screening GDM
Parallel Connected VSI Inverter using Multi-carrier based Sinusoidal PWM Technique
This paper explains the simulation and modelling of Parallel operation of VSI inverter using multi-carrier based PWM technique. By this proposed method three level inverter output voltages generated instead of using multilevel inverter or two level dual VSI inverter. This system employs single dc voltage source, which gives supply to both VSI inverter by using parallel connection. The multi-carrier based pulse width modulation technique affianced to control the inverter power switches. The proposed system offers improved output voltage, better current control and reduced harmonic distortion. The simulation results of this proposed system was verified using matlab/simulink
Control system of automatic garage using programmable logic controller
In todayтАЩs populated world, urban land availability has become scarce and manual involvement of humans for a proper task makes a work less efficient and less accurate. The garage is one of the workstations which needs to be modernized for enhanced land utilization, energy saving approach and systematic functioning. This goal can only be achieved through the automation of parking systems. We have proposed an automated control system for garage using siemens PLC (programmable logic control)-1200 to control the vehicles. The number plate of the car is recorded through the RFID reader and the parking slot for that particular vehicle is allotted automatically based on the available vacancy. Along with this the parking area is fitted with fire alarm, which will raise if any smoke or fire happens in the location. The total parking cost of each vehicle can be calculated based on the number of hours it has been parked. And the information will be displayed in the SCADA screen. Additionally, instead of the full lightening of the complete place, lightening will be provided only in the direction of movement of the car, preventing wastage of energy
A Sub-Region Based Space Vector Modulation Scheme for Dual 2-Level Inverter System
This paper deals the implementation of 3-level output voltage using dual 2-level inverter with control of sub-region based Space Vector Modulation (SR-SVM). Switching loss and voltage stress are the most important issues in multilevel inverters, for keep away from these problems dual inverter system executed. Using this proposed system, the conventional 3-level inverter voltage vectors and switching vectors can be located. In neutral point clamped multilevel inverter, it carries more load current fluctuations due to the DC link capacitors and it requires large capacitors. Based on the sub-region SVM used to control IGBT switches placed in the dual inverter system. The proposed system improves the output voltage with reduced harmonic content with improved dc voltage utilisation. The simulation and hardware results are verified using matlab/simulink and dsPIC microcontroller
On the Accuracy of A.C. Flux Leakage, Eddy Current, EMAT and Ultrasonic Methods of Measuring Surface Connecting Flaws in Seamless Steel Tubing
The objective of this study was to perform a comparative experimental evaluation to determine the detection sensitivity, classification (fJaw type) and depth sizing accuracy of A.C. flux leakage, single-frequency eddy current, electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) generated surface waves, and broadband ultrasonic methods for the measurement of complex surface connecting flaws in hot rolled, seamless, ferritic tubing. Since it was of interest to invest NDE techniques over a wide range of capabilities, tubing having flaw depths far exceeding industry standards was tested and evaluated. Results of the study will be used to provide a benchmark assessment of these NDE methods, from which decisions concerning production test systems can be made
SYNTHESIS AND IN-SILICO ANTI-INFLAMMATORY INVESTIGATION OF 2, 3-DIHYDROCHROMEN-4-ONE AND 3, 4-DIHYDROBENZO[B]OXEPIN-5(2H)-ONE BASED PYRAZOLE DERIVATIVES
This study synthesized six pyrazole derivatives from the key intermediates 2,3-dihydrochromen-4-one and 3,4-dihydrobenzo[b]oxepin-5(2H)-one. We have characterized all pyrazole derivatives as well as conducted in silico anti-inflammatory studies. The DFT calculations were performed using Gaussian 09 software. The compound 9 has the lowest energy gap (тИЖE, 1.0698 eV), lowest hardness (0.5349 eV), highest softness (1.8695 eV), and highest electrophilicity (7.0809eV) among all pyrazole derivatives and standard Aspirin. Swiss ADME software was used to carry out the ADME analysis. The chloro-substituted pyrazole derivatives (5, 6, and 9) were non-toxic, however, the nitrogen-substituted pyrazole derivatives (10, 13 and 14) and Aspirin were toxic. The docking patterns of the pyrazole derivatives with COX-2 selective inhibitors proteins (5F19) have been studied. Compound 9 has the lower binding energy (-10.2Kcal/mol) as compared with that of other pyrazole derivatives and standard Aspirin drugs. As a result, the pyrazole derivatives compound 9 is a promising anti-inflammatory drug with selective COX-2 inhibition as compared to the Aspirin drugs physicochemical properties
Simulation of Single Phase 3-level Z-source NPC Inverter with PV System
This paper elucidates simulation of single phase 3-level z-source neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter with PV system. single phase NPC inverter employed due to its advantages like less voltage stress, reduced harmonic content, minimsed CMV and voltage stress is low. Z-source network is engaged to boost input voltage getting from the photovoltaic system, which is manoeuvre in shoot through and non-shoot through conditions. This proposed scheme utilized to enhance the output voltage, minimise THD and the leakage current can be avoided with help of split inductor connected with output of inverter system. sinusiodal pulse width modulation (SPWM) used as control technique for the proposed 3-level z-source NPC inverter. The simulation results of this scheme has been verified using matlab/simulink
