An application in the hotel sector

This article deals with the study of Corporate Responsibility (CR) under the European Customer Satisfaction Index (ECSI). The methodology of this empirical study, conducted among 629 customers staying at hotels in the city of Seville, is based on structural equation modeling (PLS). The results obtained demonstrate the applicability of the European model to the hotel sector, although not all the relationships from the original model have been proven. The main contributions are derived from a better understanding of the model's components, a variable not studied before having been incorporated: the importance of Corporate Responsibility (CR). Moreover, it means to contribute to the field of research on CR as, despite the growing interest in the subject, the effects of this construct are still poorly understood

Impact of the perceived importance of a hotels's corporate responsibility on tourists' complaints behaviour

This work is centred on the study of the Corporate Responsibility (CR) of hotel firms and its influence on tourists’ complaints behaviour. The methodology of the empirical study, carried out among 629 customers lodging in hotels in the city of Seville, is based on structural equations modelling (PLS). The results obtained show that there is a significant relation between the perceived importance of CR and the tendency to complain. The latter also significantly affects the number of complaints a person files. Likewise, a significant and negative effect of the tourists’ satisfaction on the complaints filed is noted. The main contributions stem from a better knowledge about the antecedents of complaints behav - iour. This comes from having incorporated the variable of the importance of CR, which has not been studied before. On the other hand, the work means to offer a contribution to the field of CR research as, despite the growing interest in the topic, the effects of this construct on customers still remain little known

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo diseñar una propuesta didáctica para el fortalecimiento de la compresión crítica en estudiantes de grado noveno, a partir de textos narrativos (cuentos policíacos) “una escalera al cielo” del escritor colombiano Mario Mendoza, como una estrategia creativa que permite que los estudiantes integren el proceso de la lectura y su comprensión como una práctica social. Esta propuesta de enfoque cualitativo y con diseño descriptivo, se fundamenta en aportes teóricos articulados con los enfoques curriculares para la enseñanza de la lengua y la literatura del modelo educativo colombiano vigente, es por esto, que autores como Vygotsky, Camps, Lerner, Pérez, Cortés y Bautista, sustentan con propiedad tanto el desarrollo conceptual como la apuesta didáctica

Bogota culture for foreign language exchange

A lot of time after the investigation about the perception from foreign people about our country, is important not leave behind the great help that this project would give to a great projection. Clearly is a strong point to know that foreigners enjoy the culture that day by day live while they study our idiom in the capital of our country. IoT-Based Alternating Current Electrical Parameters Monitoring System

Energy monitors are indispensable for achieving efficient electrical grids and even more so in the age of the Internet of Things (IoT), where electrical system data are monitored from anywhere in the world. This paper presents the development of a two-channel electrical parameter-monitoring system based on the M5 Stack Core2 kit. The acquisition of variables is done through PZEM 004T V3.0 sensors, and the data are sent to the ThingSpeak cloud database. Local readings are done through the LCD, and data re stored on a micro SD card. Remote monitoring is done through two applications, namely a web application and a mobile application, each designed for different purposes. To validate this proposal, a commercial device with IoT features (Gen 2 Vue Energy Monitor) is used, comparing the active power and active energy readings recorded continuously for 7 days. The results indicate an accuracy of up to 1.95% in power and 0.81% in energy, obtaining a low-cost compact product with multiple features

Gender inequality in Latin American Neuroscience community

Gender bias in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) has been identified since a long time ago. However, gender imbalance in neuroscience has not yet been adequately explored worldwide. Here we report the first study on the development of the careers of men and women neuroscientists in Latin America in relation to family life and their perceptions of obstacles to success. Apart from revealing gender inequality in the neuroscience field, distinctive Latin American traits have become evident, thus providing novel insights into the global comprehension of gender imbalance in the region, which is required for guiding future actions, including the design of public policies in the region
