The Eurostat database was chosen as the main source of information for statistical analysis. Taking into account rurality the regions were divided into three groups: predominantly urban regions (PU), intermediate regions (IR) and predominantly rural regions (PR). Knowing the employment characteristics in EU regions contribute to common understanding of the processes on the labour market that is the basis of the formulation of new, efficient strategies of employment.
