    Air traffic density in India and the world at large is growing fast and posing challenging13; problems. The problems encountered can be parameterized as flight delay, workload of air traffic13; controllers and noise levels in and around aerodromes. Prediction and quantification of these13; parameters aid in developing strategies for efficient air traffic management. In this study, the13; method used for quantifying is by simulation and analysis of the selected aerodrome and air13; space. This paper presents the results of simulation of HAL Bangalore International Airport,13; which is used by civil as well as military aircraft. With the test flying of unscheduled military13; aircraft and the increase in the civil air traffic, this airport is hitting the limit of acceptable delay.13; The workload on air traffic controllers is pushed to high during peak times. The noise contour13; prediction, especially for the test flying military aircraft is sounding a wake up call to the13; communities living in the vicinity of the Airport.13

    Teknologi robot saat ini berkembang dengan sangat pesat dan tidak dapat dipungkiri dan telah lama dijadikan salah satu icon kebanggan negara maju. Gedung-gedung pencakar langit, kota-kota yang modern, terasa belum lengkap tanpa adanya kecanggihan di dunia robot. Kata robot berasal dari bahasa Czech yang berarti pekerja atau buruh, dimana sangat erat kaitannya dengan otomasi, militer dan robot industri. Otomasi merupakan teknologi yang berlandaskan pada aplikasi sistem mekanik, elektronik dan program. Robot militer merupakan komponen alternatif dalam teknologi otomasi yang dapat berfungsi sebagai prajurit yang bekerja tanpa lelah. Robot biasanya diciptakan untuk menggantikan posisi-posisi prajurit dengan keahlian rendah dan bahkan hingga tenaga professional. Dengan adanya robot yang bisa menggantikan prajurit di dalam medan berbahaya, ini akan sangat membantu manusia dalam mencegah potensi timbulnya korban jiwa. Salah satu penerapan robot yang sudah ada yaitu robot penjinak bom. Robot ini dapat dikendalikan pada jarak tertentu sehingga dapat menggantikan tugas seorang prajurit dalam menganalisis dan menjinakkan bom, sehingga mengurangi kemungkinan terjadinya cedera ataupun korban jiwa jika terjadi kesalahan dan bom meledak. Berdasarkan paparan diatas, pada penelitian kali ini penulis tertarik membuat sebuah penelitian berjudul “Perancangan Sistem Kendali Jarak Jauh Lego NXT Robo Laptop Via Bluetooth”. Pada penelitian ini dilakuakan dengan menggunakan proses SDLC, namun hanya dilakukan samapai tahap analisis dan desan saja. Perancangan dilakukan mulai dari tahap analisis perangkat lunak sampai dengan analisis perangkat keras (dalam hal ini lebih difokuskan pada mekanik daripada robot). Model fungsional dari perangkat lunak sistem pengendali NXT robo laptop digambarkan dengan menggunakan use case diagram dan activity diagram. Rancangan mekanik perangkat keras adalah rancangan dan susunan komponenkomponen dari Lego Mindstorm NXT yang akan dirakit menjadi rangkaian mekanik perangkat keras robot penulis karakter. Perangkat keras yang akan dibangun menggunakan 2 servo motor dan sebuah NXT Brick

    Information literacy is a crucial component of developing life – long learning skills. Students need to be information literate to cope up with the challenges in further studies and future profession. The present study investigated the information literacy skills of engineering students of PSR Engineering College, Virudhunagar district, Tamilnadu State, India. It is descriptive survey method. 400 students were randomly selected. Data were collected using questionnaire. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), Version 17.0 was used to analyze the data so prepared. Descriptive and inferential statistics have been applied to the data. The results reveal that: The students are better skilled at identifying the concepts and terms related to the information they need ; knowing what they don’t know to identify and information gap; defining the scope of search questions clearly in appropriate language ; using a range of retrieval tools and resources and using a range of retrieval tools and resources effectively. They are least skilled at combining the existing information with original concept ; using new tools as they become available; identifying controlled vocabularies and taxonomies to aid in searching if appropriate ; identifying when the information need has not been met and critically appraising and evaluating their own findings and those of others. Majority of the respondents supported the induction of information literacy programmes on the use of internet and online databases

Spirituality was identified as a negative factor affecting mental health on the survey. It is important for mental health professionals to acknowledge the protective role of spirituality against mental illness as pointed out in the scientific literature

    Identifying learning techniques among high achievers

    Background: In every college, it is noticed that in spite of being exposed to the same teaching modalities and adopting seemingly similar strategies, some students perform much better than their peers.  This can be evaluated in the form of better academic performance in the internal assessments they undertake.  This project is an endeavor to identify the learning techniques among high achievers which they employ to outperform others. We can also suggest the same to the medium and low achievers so that they can improve their academic performance. This study was conducted to identify different learning techniques adopted by high achievers and suggesting the same to medium and low achievers.Methods: After obtaining clearance from the institutional ethics committee, the high achievers were identified by selecting the upper third of the students in the ascending order of marks obtained in the consecutive three internal assessments in three consecutive batches. The identity of the students was not revealed.  They were then administered an open ended questionnaire which addressed relevant issues. The most common and feasible techniques will be suggested to the medium and low achievers.Results: The respondents’ (n=101) replies were analyzed by calculating the percentages of responses, and assessing based on that, which were the most frequently adapted techniques by these high achieversConclusions: High-achievers have a diligent study pattern; they not only study regularly, but also involve in group discussions and approach their teachers when in doubt. Additionally, they refer to other sources of information like the internet, demonstrating a proactive attitude towards studies
