IntroducciĂłn de las tĂ©cnicas de modelizaciĂłn para el estudio de la fĂsica y de las matemáticas en los primeros cursos de las carreras tĂ©cnicas
In this article we present a program of interdisciplinary practices for a first engineering course. We followed this program during the course 1996-1997, and we give several examples of the kind of exercises that we used. We also present some remarks and conclusions that we have achieved in our experience. Our purpose is to introduce a teaching strategy for Mathematics and Physics at the University level
Improving a Satellite Mission System by means of a Semantic Grid Architecture
The use of a semantic grid architecture can make easier the
deployment of complex applications, in which several organizations are involved and diverse resources are shared. This paper presents the application of the architecture defined in the Ontogrid project (S-OGSA) into a scenario for the analysis of the quality of the products of satellite missions

Non-ergodic effects in the Coulomb glass: specific heat
We present a numerical method for the investigation of non-ergodic effects in
the Coulomb glass. For that, an almost complete set of low-energy many-particle
states is obtained by a new algorithm. The dynamics of the sample is mapped to
the graph formed by the relevant transitions between these states, that means
by transitions with rates larger than the inverse of the duration of the
measurement. The formation of isolated clusters in the graph indicates
non-ergodicity. We analyze the connectivity of this graph in dependence on
temperature, duration of measurement, degree of disorder, and dimensionality,
studying how non-ergodicity is reflected in the specific heat.Comment: Submited Phys. Rev.
A bibliometric study of the research area of videogames using Dimensions.ai database
Videogames are a very interesting area of research for fields as diverse as computer science, health, psychology or even social sciences. Every year a growing number of articles are published in different topics inside this field, so it is very convenient to study the different bibliometric data in order to consolidate the research efforts.
Thus, the aim of this work is to conduct a study on the distribution of articles related to videogames in the different fields of research, as well as to measure their interest over time, to identify the sources, countries and authors with the highest scientific production. In order to carry out this analysis, the information system Dimensions.ai has been considered, since it covers a large number of documents and allows for easy downloading and analysis of datasets.
According to the study, three countries are the most prolific in this area: USA, Canada and UK. The obtained results also indicate that the fields with the highest number of publications are Information and Computer Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, and Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, in this order. With regard to the impact of the publications, differences between the number of citations, and the number of Altmetric Attention Score, have been found
Dielectric susceptibility of the Coulomb-glass
We derive a microscopic expression for the dielectric susceptibility
of a Coulomb glass, which corresponds to the definition used in classical
electrodynamics, the derivative of the polarization with respect to the
electric field. The fluctuation-dissipation theorem tells us that is a
function of the thermal fluctuations of the dipole moment of the system. We
calculate numerically for three-dimensional Coulomb glasses as a
function of temperature and frequency
The -Daugavet property for function spaces
A natural extension of the Daugavet property for -convex Banach function
spaces and related classes is analysed. As an application, we extend the
arguments given in the setting of the Daugavet property to show that no
reflexive space falls into this class
