    Get PDF
En aquesta nota introduïm l'àlgebra complexa CG d'un grup finit G i els cèlebres problemes primer i segon de Brauer. Finalment proposem els que al nostre parer són els reptes més importants en l'estudi de CG.In this note, we introduce CG, the complex algebra of a finite group G, discuss about Brauer’s celebrated problems numbers 1 and 2, and finally we propose what we think are the most important challenges on studying CG

Structural studies of the hipersaline adaptation of proteins belonging to halophilic archaea

183 p.Adaptation of organisms to extreme halophilic environments (> 1 ¿ 2 M) occurs through theaccumulation of large intracellular concentrations of KCl. Their major adaptive feature is theextensive modification of the constituting proteome. A biased set of amino acids is selected inorder to improve the stability and solubility of halophilic proteins: large hydrophobic residuesare penalized, specially lysines, whereas small, polar and often negatively charged residuesare favoured, such as aspartic acid, threonine and glutamic acid (Figure I4). Themodifications occur mainly at the surface, so the overall structure is conserved. Themolecular determinants for such a selection remain elusive despite of considerable efforts.Previous models based on weak unspecific K+¿carboxylate interactions have provedthemselves insufficient to explain some features of haloadaptation, such as the complex saltmodulationof enzymatic activity or the dependence of protein stability with Hofmeister anions.Figure I4. Halophilic amino acid composition. Residue abundance in halophilic proteins compared tomesophilic proteins expressed as the percentage of relative variation in the average amino acidcomposition

Middle Ordovician conodonts and graptolites at Los Cauquenes range, central Precordillera of San Juan, Argentina

The Ordovician System is superbly represented in the Precordillera of western Argentina, at the Andean foothills. During the Middle Ordovician, an important paleogeographical rearrangement of depocenters and source areas took place associated with the demise of the Eopaleozoic carbonate platform of the Precordillera. This critical interval is recorded in the basin through widespread deposition of black shales over the fossiliferous limestones of the San Juan Formation, punctuated by local deposition of olistostromes, debris flows, conglomerates, and turbidites (e.g., Astini et al., 1995; Keller, 1999). Fossil dating of the lowest black shales and equivalent units indicates a diachronous deposition from north to south in the Precordillera basin (Hünicken, 1985; Albanesi et al., 1998).Fil: Voldman, Gustavo Gabriel. The subject of study focuses on the unemployment protection of the self-employed person –model of mixed assurance, in the sense of that it is compulsory for some and voluntary for others– and in its coordination at the european level –with the purpose of arranging the applicable system to situations in which national workers of european countries or national workers of third countries with legal residence in one member State work in other countries of the European Union–. The above, with express reference to the amendments manifested in the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems and regulation (EC) No 987/2009 laying down the procedure for implementing Regulation (EC) No 883/2004

The custom-made foot orthosis using the Central Stabilizer Element: nex concept of element

    Get PDF
Foot orthoses have been applied for the management of lower limb disorders, mainly for those who develop foot pain. The Central Stabilizer Element (CSE) is a new element that contains the midfoot laterally when a plantar insole is manufactured. OBJECTIVES: - To determine the effect on foot pain of adding the Central Stabilizer Element during the manufacturing process of foot orthosis, -- - To describe the proportions of Central Stabilizer Element in terms of width and length of this element. METHODS: A sample comprising 130 patients (57 males and 73 females) with foot pain was recruited for this study, with the patients having supinated, neutral, pronated and overpronated feet. All the patients received a custom-made foot orthosis with the Central Stabilizer Element. The Central Stabilizer Element was made of resins of polyvinyl chloride, and is a device insert in foot orthosis that contains the midfoot laterally to control pronation and supination movements. Conclusion •The students know how to design the insole. •They know how to match different foot posture with the different types of insoles •We make our decisions based on the scientific evidence foundUniversidad de Málaga. Un programa de simulación como introducción a la geología aplicada, en primero de geológicas

    Get PDF

Background Foot problems and pain are common in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Patient-reported outcome measures provide a standardized method of capturing patients’ perspectives of their functional status and wellbeing. There are many instruments specific to people with feet affected by rheumatoid arthritis but knowledge of their psychometric validation or methodological quality is lacking Objectives To identify patient-reported outcome measures specific to the foot and ankle and rheumatoid arthritis and investigate their methodological quality and psychometric properties Design Systematic review. Data source : A search was conducted for psychometric or validation studies on patient-reported outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis published in different languages, by examining the Pubmed; Scopus, CINAHL; PEDro and Google Scholar databases. Review methods . The systematic review performed was based on the following inclusion criteria: psychometric or clinimetric validation studies on patient-reported outcomes specific to the foot and ankle that included patients with Rheumatoid arthritis. Two authors independently assessed the quality of the studies and extracted datas Results Of the initial 431 studies, fourteen instruments met the inclusion criteria. Significant methodological flaws were detected in most with only SEFAS met the COSMIN quality criteria. Conclusion SEFAS had the best quality and was ranked most appropriate for use with patients living with Rheumatoid Arthriti
