Comparative study of Portland cement-based and zeolite-based concretes in terms of hexavalent chromium leaching
The paper presents the results of the leaching study of Portland cement-based and zeolite-based concretes regarding water soluble hexavalent chromium. Three leaching water media (distilled water, rain water, and Britton-Robinson buffer) of various pH values were under investigation. The correlation between pH and leached-out concentrations of chromium was not confirmed. The content of hexavalent water-soluble chromium in leachates of zeolite-based concretes was found to be higher than that in leachates of Portland cement-based samples
Arylaminopropanone Derivatives as Potential Cholinesterase Inhibitors: Synthesis, Docking Study and Biological Evaluation
Neurodegenerative diseases in which the decrease of the acetylcholine is observed are growing worldwide. In the present study, a series of new arylaminopropanone derivatives with N-phenylcarbamate moiety (1-16) were prepared as potential acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase inhibitors. In vitro enzyme assays were performed; the results are expressed as a percentage of inhibition and the IC50 values. The inhibitory activities were compared with reference drugs galantamine and rivastigmine showing piperidine derivatives (1-3) as the most potent. A possible mechanism of action for these compounds was determined from a molecular modelling study by using combined techniques of docking, molecular dynamics simulations and quantum mechanics calculations.Fil: Hudcová, Anna. Nová média jako důležitá součást marketingové komunikace elektronické hudby
Bakalárska práca "Nové média ako dôležitá súčasť marketingovej komunikácie eventov elektronickej hudby" analyzuje dôležitosť nových médií ako skupinu kľúčových komunikačných kanálov marketingovej komunikácie eventov elektronickej hudby. Porovnáva využívanie nových médií s tradičnými kanálmi zastúpenými bežne v marketingovom mixe komunikácie eventov elektronickej hudby, analyzuje efektivitu využitia nových médií v marketingovom mixe, skúma a porovnáva reálny a vnímaný vplyv využitia nových médií v marketingovom mixe na cieľovú skupinu. V prvej časti sa bakalárska práca venuje popisu nových médií, ich spoločenskému aspektu a ich využitiu v marketingovej komunikácii; popisu elektronickej hudby a ich eventov a spoločenskému aspektu; a ukotveniu marketingovej komunikácie a dôležitosti využitia jej nástrojov v eventoch elektronickej hudby. Následne analyzuje jednotlivé nástroje marketingovej komunikácie a ponúka dotazníkové šetrenie zamerané na vnímanie marketingových nástrojov eventov elektronickej hudby, na základe ktorého na záver hodnotí efektivitu marketingovej komunikácie eventov elektronickej hudby.Bachelor thesis "New Media as an important part of marketing communication of electronic music events" analyses the role of new media as a group of key communication channels of marketing communications of electronic music events. Compares the use of new media with traditional channels represented widely in the marketing mix of communication of electronic music events, analyses the effectiveness of the use of new media in the marketing mix, examines and compares real and perceived impact of the use of new media in the marketing mix for the audience. The first part of the thesis focuses on the description of the new media, the social aspects and its use in marketing communication; describes electronic music events and social aspects; and anchors marketing communication and the importance of use of its instruments in electronic music events. Then analyses the various tools of marketing communication and offers a questionnaire survey focused on perceptions of marketing tools used for electronic music events on which it concludes evaluation of the effectiveness of marketing communications of electronic music events.Department of Marketing Communication and Public RelationsKatedra marketingové komunikace a public relationsFakulta sociálních vědFaculty of Social Science

Comparison of Hexavalent Chromium Leaching Levels of Zeoliteand Slag-based Concretes
In this experiment, the reference concrete samples containing Portland cement as binder and the concrete samples with the addition of ground granulated blast furnace slag (85% and 95%, respectively as replacement of Portland cement) and other samples containing ground zeolite (8% and 13%, respectively as replacement of Portland cement) were analyzed regarding the leachability of chromium. The prepared concrete samples were subjected to long-term leaching test for 300 days in three different leaching agents (distilled water, rainwater and Britton-Robinson buffer). Subsequently, the concentration of hexavalent chromium in the various leachates spectrophotometrically was measured. The leaching parameters as values of the pH and the conductivity were also studied. This experiment clearly shows the need for the regulation and control of the waste addition to the construction materials and the need for long-term study in relation to the leaching of heavy metals into the environment
Leachability of chromium and barium from concrete samples with blast furnace slag addition
The paper presents the results of leachability testing of selected heavy metals from the concrete composites of various compositions in order to assess the degree of a contamination risk of the environment. Tested concrete samples contained various amounts of special ingredients based on the blast furnace slag (65%, 75%, 85% and 95% of Portland cement replacement). Leaching tests have been performed by using distilled water. The concentrations of chromium and barium ions in the leachates were measured after period of 30 and 240 days. Changes in pH and conductivity values in leachates have been also observed
Investigation of the Precipitates on the Concrete Surface due to Sulphate Exposure
The aim of this study is to investigate the durability of cement-based materials subjected to the effects of sulphuric acid in terms of surface deterioration. Damaged concrete surfaces and the samples’ mass changes were studied during 270-day simulation of both chemical and biological attacks. Chemical corrosion was simulated by sulphuric acid with pH of 3.0 and 4.0, respectively, while biological corrosion was simulated by activity of bacteria Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans. XRD and SEM analyses confirmed a massive sulphate precipitate formation on the concrete surface due to chemical and biological sulphate corrosion
