    This study aims at looking at the correlation between the ability to play a symbolic and verbal language skills in children’s Theory of Mind. Then, the study involved subjects as many as 49 children in the kindergarten in Yogyakarta. The age range of children involved in the study was 46- 61 months. The average age of children was 54.551 months with comparison subjects by sex was a boy of 20 people (40.81%) while girls were 29 people (59.19%). Data collections were conducted through a research-contents false belief task, audiovisual recordings while the children play in pair, rating on Smilansky Scale for Evaluation of Dramatic and Sociodramatic Play (SSEDSP), and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) on verbal subtes. Data analysis using binary logistic regression analysis techniques. The results of the analysis of the major hypotheses using Omnibus Test of Model Coefficient with scores of Chi-square=10.394, p=0.006 (p<0.01). These results indicate that there is a very significant overall model proposed in this hypothesis. Thus, it can be concluded that the symbolic play ability and verbal skills can predict Theory of Mind in very significant way.Keyword: Theory of mind, ability to play a symbolic, verbal language skills, preschooler

    Family Factors Affecting Adolescents’ Happiness During the Covid-19 Pandemic

    The COVID-19 pandemic has led to large-scale behavioral changes and a significant psychological burden. This study aims to determine the effect of parent-adolescent relationships and parental marital quality on adolescents’ happiness during the pandemic. The research subjects were male and female adolescents between the ages of 18-21 that studied at state and private universities and lived with their parents. A binary logistic regression technique was used to examine the independence of the association between perceived parent-adolescent relationship, parental marital quality, sex, and allowance with happiness during the pandemic. The logistic regression analysis results showed that only two independent variables, namely perceived parent-adolescent relationship and parental marital quality, made a unique statistically significant contribution to the model. However, the strongest predictor was perceived parental marital quality, which recorded an odds ratio of 7.25.     The aim of the study is to understand the relationship between social support and quality of life in adolescent with special needs. The hypothesis in this study that there was a relationship between social support and quality of life in adolescent with special needs. The study sample involves 63 subject from special needs school Sleman and special needs school Bantul in Yogyakarta which consist 37 males and 26 females within age range 11 – 18 years old. The measuring tool of this study are adopted Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support from Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet & Farley (1988) and translastion from Youth Quality Of Life Instrument – Short Form (YQOL-SF) Version 2.0 from Edwards, Huebner, Connel and Patrick (2002). The data analisys of this study was using Product Moment Pearson. Based on the result, it shows that there is a significant relationship between social support and quality of life in adolescent with special needs. (r = 0,264 and p = 0,018,

Nowadays, learning media and resources include not only natural environment but also cyber space in internet. However, some Early Childhood Education teachers are not aware of the potential of using these learning media and resources in their teaching practice. Therefore, an in-house training of learning media and resources literacy was designed for Early Childhood Education teachers in District of Ngaglik, Sleman Regency. This training was attended by Rumah Anak Pintar Islami and Smart Child Al-Mubarok Pre-Schools. The outcome of the training was better understanding on learning media and resources in the internet which the teachers can use in their teaching practice

    Parental marital quality and adolescent psychological well-being: A meta-analysis

    Previous findings on the relationship between parental marital quality and adolescent psychological well-being are inconsistent; thus, we conducted a meta-analysis of 23 relevant studies. Results revealed significant associations between: (1) positive parental marital quality and high psychological well-being; (2) positive parental marital quality and low psychological wellbeing; (3) negative parental marital quality and high psychological wellbeing; (4) negative parental marital quality and low psychological well-being. Future research implications will be discussed in this article

    Pre-service English Teachers’ Perceptions on Their Professional Identity through LinkedIn-Mediated Activities

    In English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context, pre-service English teachers need to develop their sense of identity in both real communities in society and online platforms.This study aims to analyse pre-service English teachers’ views on their engagement in LinkedIn-mediated early professional development activities . The data were collected through in-depth interviews. Three pre-service English teachers who enrolled in Teacher Professional Development coursework and engaged in LinkedIn-mediated activities during the coursework were invited to participate. Two themes emerged from the findings. The first is LinkedIn-mediated early professional development activities that raise awareness on developing current professional digital footprint. The second is  LinkedIn-mediated early professional development activities help them to figure out expected teacher-selves in the future. Implications for future pedagogical practicein the Teacher Professional Development coursework is that the activities involved in LinkedIn should be sustained and enhanced in order to support the pre-service English teachers to shape their professional identity as future English teachers
