The research aims to optimize a workflow of architecture documentation: starting from panoramic photos, tackling available instruments and technologies to propose an integrated, quick and low-cost solution of Virtual Architecture. The broader research background shows how to use spherical panoramic images for the architectural metric survey. The input data (oriented panoramic photos), the level of reliability and Image-based Modeling methods constitute an integrated and flexible 3D reconstruction approach: from the professional survey of cultural heritage to its communication in virtual museum. The proposed work results from the integration and implementation of different techniques (Multi-Image Spherical Photogrammetry, Structure from Motion, Imagebased Modeling) with the aim to achieve high metric accuracy and photorealistic performance. Different documentation chances are possible within the proposed workflow: from the virtual navigation of spherical panoramas to complex solutions of simulation and virtual reconstruction. VR tools make for the integration of different technologies and the development of new solutions for virtual navigation. Image-based Modeling techniques allow 3D model reconstruction with photo realistic and high-resolution texture. High resolution of panoramic photo and algorithms of panorama orientation and photogrammetric restitution vouch high accuracy and high-resolution texture. Automated techniques and their following integration are subject of this research. Data, advisably processed and integrated, provide different levels of analysis and virtual reconstruction joining the photogrammetric accuracy to the photorealistic performance of the shaped surfaces. Lastly, a new solution of virtual navigation is tested. Inside the same environment, it proposes the chance to interact with high resolution oriented spherical panorama and 3D reconstructed model at once

This type of research was the development of research using ADDIE model of integration to the stage of development. There were 3 worksheets developed. Instruments of data collection in this study were the validation sheet worksheets, student questionnaire responses, and critical thinking skills observation sheet. After LKS developed, the tests I on 16 students of fourth semester of biology education FKIP UR, then validated by the validator 4, and a second trial on 31 students. I result showed the average score 3,53 with very good category. The tests showed the average score of 3 LKS design developed was 3,08 valid category, the mean score of the pedagogic aspect was 3,21 valid category, and the mean score of the content aspect was 3,30 very valid category. The mean score of all aspects of the three categories 3,20 LKS was valid. II result showed the average score 3,36 with very good category. The results of the analysis of the answers of students in Worksheet 1 showed the mean value of 3.61. Based on the results of data analysis could be concluded that the development of the Strategy Worksheet PQ4R the genetic material increased the understanding and knowledge of the genetic material and enhanced students\u27 critical thinking skills

The role of angular momentum in the construction of electromagnetic multipolar fields

    Get PDF
Multipolar solutions of Maxwell's equations are used in many practical applications and are essential for the understanding of light-matter interactions at the fundamental level. Unlike the set of plane wave solutions of electromagnetic fields, the multipolar solutions do not share a standard derivation or notation. As a result, expressions originating from different derivations can be difficult to compare. Some of the derivations of the multipolar solutions do not explicitly show their relation to the angular momentum operators, thus hiding important properties of these solutions. In this article, the relation between two of the most common derivations of this set of solutions is explicitly shown and their relation to the angular momentum operators is exposed.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figure

Spectropolarimetric measurements of hidden broad lines in nearby megamaser galaxies: a lack of clear evidence for a correlation between black hole masses and virial products

High-accuracy black hole (BH) masses require excellent spatial resolution that is only achievable for galaxies within ~100 Mpc using present-day technology. At larger distances, BH masses are often estimated with single-epoch scaling relations for active galactic nuclei. This method requires only luminosity and the velocity dispersion of the broad line region (BLR) to calculate a virial product, and an additional virial factor, ff, to determine BH mass. The accuracy of these single-epoch masses, however, is unknown, and there are few empirical constraints on the variance of ff between objects. We attempt to calibrate single-epoch BH masses using spectropolarimetric measurements of nine megamaser galaxies from which we measure the velocity distribution of the BLR. We do not find strong evidence for a correlation between the virial products used for single-epoch masses and dynamical mass, both for the megamaser sample alone and when combined with dynamical masses from reverberation mapping modeling. Furthermore, we find evidence that the virial parameter ff varies between objects, but we do not find strong evidence for a correlation with other observable parameters such as luminosity or broad line width. Although we cannot definitively rule out the existence of any correlation between dynamical mass and virial product, we find tension between allowed ff values for masers and those widely used in the literature. We conclude that the single-epoch method requires further investigation if it is to be used successfully to infer BH masses.Comment: 27 pages, 16 figures, resubmitted to ApJ after incorporating reviewer's comments.
